These young people see meme coins as their best shot at the American Dream
DENVER — When Yuvia Mendoza recently visited a Hooters restaurant, she offered her server $1,000 in cryptocurrency for one of the company's signature staff T-shirts. 'I'm trying to save her job,' Mendoza said.
A few days later, Mendoza cruised a bitcoin party at the Four Seasons, inviting cryptocurrency insiders to take selfies holding the Hooters-branded deep V-neck. It was a gambit to drive up the value of a Hooters-themed cryptocurrency she hopes will rescue the casual restaurant chain from its recent bankruptcy, and also make her rich.
