Chappell Roan says her fashion sense is 'like a Halloween' costume

Chappell Roan says her fashion sense is "like a Halloween" costume. The 27-year-old pop star admitted that she is not really a fan of the spooky October holiday per se but when it comes to her signature looks - which include a white painted face, bright orange hair and an array of extravagant outfits - she can definitely see the correlation. She told W Magazine: "I am not a Halloween girl. My favorite Halloween costumes I admire from afar, because I'm always the bitch who has the cat ears on and that's it. My work outfit is like Halloween! But when I was a child, I was a red M+M for three years in a row." The 'Good Luck, Babe!' hitmaker has seen "so many" of her fans dress up as her over the course of the last six months and is thrilled that her audience is now expanding to include children as well as adults. She said: " I've seen so many baby Chappell Roans. There's so many different outfits to choose from! That is something new in the past six months—the audience is growing to include children, and it's so cute. 'Hot to Go!' taught them how to spell and dance." Meanwhile, the Grammy Award-wnning star recently attended Paris Fashion Week and was surprised at just how short individual show is and embraced having the chance to explore different looks throughout. She said: "I don't know why I expected every show to be two hours long, but they are literally nine minutes, 12 minutes. It was kind of refreshing. I was in the makeup chair for the entirety of Paris Fashion Week—it was so crazy: changing looks, changing wigs, go, go, go. I didn't realize that this was a dream I always had. But it was very interesting for my psyche, because when I walked into a fashion show, it had nothing to do with a performance I was about to give, or a speech, or writing a song. It was truly just about how I looked. I don't know if I want to feel that way all the time, but I thought it was incredible to wear these outfits. The Valentino, in particular, was so gorgeous. It was amazing."

Promising review:"I bought these beautiful shoes to wear to my 50th wedding anniversary brunch. They looked really beautiful and elegant. They are really comfortable; I wore them for at least 5–6 hours, and I had no achy feet or tired legs. I'm over 70 years old, and I'm not in 3-inch heels too often. I bought them for a trip and immediately was walking 20,000 steps a day with no issues. I love that they have a cute chunky sole but are not too heavy-looking since the ankles tie up snugly. Also, even though they're suede-like, they don't scuff easily like most suede. Chappell Roan says she doesn't know any happy parents — is she wrong?

Chappell Roan says having kids is hellish — and not all parents are upset about it. 'All of my friends who have kids are in hell,' the 'Hot to Go!' singer shared on a March 26 episode of the podcast 'Call Her Daddy.' 'I actually don't know anyone who is like, happy and has children at this age,' said Roan, 27, adding, 'I have literally not met anyone who is happy, anyone who has light in their eyes, anyone who has slept.' 'This is not looking too good,' responded Alex Cooper, the host of 'Call Her Daddy.' Many exhausted moms with flickering light in their eyes supported Roan. 'Mothers are so tired! It's true.' 'YESSS. Finally someone speaking my language.' '49-year-mom of grown children. You are not wrong, girl. Being a mom in this country is ... rough.' 'I felt this in my soul.' 'I love my child with my entire heart but everything she said was absolutely true for me.' 'She is speaking the truth. Being a parent is hell.' 'You have to understand: In the midwest, a lot of people get married and have kids out of obligation, not because they actually want kids. I know a lot of people like that and they're miserable.' Happy, well-rested and bright-eyed parents disagreed. 'Having children = greatest honor of my life.' 'Happy mother of three here!' 'It's so much more nuanced than 'Motherhood is the best/worst.' It is hard and she just showed that she's not the person for her friends to vent to about the hard parts because she's judging.' 'It's valid, but I personally don't know anyone who lost their spark after having kids. All of them love it.' 'As tired as I've ever been, nothing has filled my cup more than the snuggles, the giggles, and growth of my kiddos. Helping them become good and kind humans is the honor of my life and I'm a happy working mom.' 'Completely tone deaf.' Who is happier — parents or non-parents? As Jennifer Glass, a sociology professor at the University of Texas at Austin, told CNBC, feeling 'satisfied' with the decision to have children does not necessarily equal 'happiness.' 'It's not the same thing as financial well-being, good physical health or good emotional health,' Glass told CNBC. Research shows parents experience a'happiness bump' right after a baby is born. But that tends to dissipate over the course of a year, Glass says — as it sets in that parenting is more than just cooing at a baby. Glass noted in a 2017 study co-authored by Glass that parenting is harder in the U.S. compared to other countries, given our lack of parental leave and other benefits for moms and dads. While the research was published nearly 10 years ago, it's still true in 2025: Parents in the U.S. aren't gauranteed paid parental leave and the cost of childcare is 'untenable' for many, according to the United States Census Bureau. Although Roan told 'Call Her Daddy' that she and her 'awesome' mom friends have 'such different lives,' they still party — even if they have to hire babysitters. 'They're mothers, they're f------ busy and they have jobs and lives,' said Roan, joking, 'When I go home, I love reminiscing about destroying public property with them and doing some illegal s---,' she joked.

Chappell Roan Worked At This Controversial LA Donut Shop

Before Chappell Roan's explosive rise to fame that led her to take the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2025, she was just another musician trying to make rent in Los Angeles. After Atlantic Records dropped Roan from the label in 2020, she was making ends meet at Donut Friend, a popular L.A. donut shop known for its punk-rock vibes and music-inspired treats. (Think donuts called "Fudgegazi" and "Save the Danish.") When Roan mentioned "working at a donut shop" during an interview on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, Donut Friend was quick to comment with a post on Instagram, captioned, "It's us. THE donut shop." The reel showed a variety of donuts being packed into a box to the tune of Roan's song "Hot to Go!" Roan was in good company during her days at Donut Friend, with fellow star Olivia Rodrigo saying she used to visit the musician when she was working there. "I used to go and eat donuts with her and hang out," Rodrigo told Fallon in a "Tonight Show" appearance. But aside from its association with these major stars (even the founder used to be in the music business), Donut Friend also made headlines for a controversial rumor regarding labor relations that spread on X, formerly known as Twitter. Read more: Controversial Things Everyone Just Ignores About Giada De Laurentiis In 2021, a tweet from someone using the handle @ElSangito went viral after claiming Donut Friend's management was firing employees "for trying to unionize" (via Eater). The tweet also urged people to boycott the store in protest. The shop's owner, Mark Trombino, said the accusation was completely false — but it did stir up some dirt and other complaints related to the Donut Friend work environment. An Instagram account named @donutfriendunited levelled a plethora of allegations against the donut shop in a post from January 2021. These included claims that the shop wasn't taking precautions during COVID-19, that management intimidated employees after they raised concerns, and that workers were fired over suspicions they were organizing. While a former employee who had been fired told Eater the initial viral tweet wasn't totally true, he did confirm that employees had been organizing and were planning to officially unionize in the near future. Trombino rejected the claims publicly as well as in the phone interview with Eater. A labor union was filed with the National Labor Relations Board for Donut Friend employees at the end of April 2021. It doesn't seem Chappell Roan has publicly commented about the controversy, so we can't be sure of her take on the Donut Friend work culture. Read the original article on Mashed.

'Bachelorette' and 'Traitors' star Gabby Windey elopes with Robby Hoffman to Las Vegas — like these other celebrity couples before them

Gabby Windey, of Traitors and The Bachelorette fame, announced — surprise — she secretly married her comedian girlfriend, Robby Hoffman, in Las Vegas. Windey told Cosmopolitan that when the Los Angeles wildfires broke out in January and they evacuated, they decided, 'if the world is ending, we want to be with each other.' The couple drove to Las Vegas and tied the knot days later. They danced down the aisle to Chappell Roan's 'Hot to Go!' The 20-minute ceremony, for which they had no guests, was overseen by Reverend Nature, who wore red sneakers and kept to the script. They also had a photographer named Big Nate, who captured their essence. 'It's giving Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey when they [broke up] and came back together after 9/11,' Windey said about the timing. 'They were like, 'No, actually, we do want to be together because the world is ending.' It was just us two. We did everything in two days.' See for yourself — The Yodel is the go-to source for daily news, entertainment and feel-good stories. By signing up, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. For Windey that included buying 'the first dress I saw,' which was off-white lace, at a department store despite its being a 'little tight' and making her 'butt look huge.' Hoffman, who wore her own clothing at the wedding, handled the ring purchases at Cartier. One of the best parts of their wedding story was their telling of how they shopped around for the right chapel based on past successful celebrity elopements in Sin City. 'I just looked up what couples, good couples, used,' Hoffman said. 'I didn't want to do the Britney [Spears] — and I love Britney! … But she was married 72 hours — that's not the energy you want to bring.' Hoffman looked for venues producing 'longer-standing relationships,' picking One Love Wedding Chapel, where Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker wed. They married there and the wedding cost $799, including photos and a limo. Windey said the venue was 'giving Bachelor [vibes] because there were roses everywhere,' but it was a 'beautiful night, I could cry. It was joy.' An incredible wedding gift turned out to be that they 'got so lucky' and their house survived the fires. Windey and Hoffman were hip to which celebrities had married in Vegas, and there have been a lot, but here are some of the most memorable — with mixed 'ever after' outcomes. After they called off a wedding two decades earlier, there was a lot of anxiety going into Lopez and Affleck's July 2022 wedding. So much so that, amid stressful wedding planning, "Ben just said, 'F*** it. Let's just go to Vegas and get married tonight,'' Lopez said. Affleck planned the whole thing at A Little White Wedding Chapel. Lopez, who had been married three times before to Affleck's once, talked about how they showed up at the county clerk's office just before midnight to get their wedding license, shocking the nonfamous couples also getting married. They declined to have an Elvis impersonator, saying they'd take whoever was there at the moment 'who can legally marry us.' Lopez's kids were their witnesses and they all posed in the venue's pink Cadillac. Bennifer had a formal wedding with family and friends that August in Savannah, Ga. The pair split in 2024 after less than two years of marriage. In Las Vegas for the Grammys in April 2022, Kravis, outfitted in leather jackets, got hitched by an Elvis impersonator at One Love Wedding Chapel. It was his third marriage; her first. Kardashian has said she was so drunk, slurring her words during vows, that she blacked out and remembers nothing. She vomited shortly after. It was a trial run to the real deal because the couple failed to obtain a marriage license so it wasn't legal. (You can only get a marriage license between 8 a.m. and midnight; they showed up at 2 a.m.) Kardashian and Barker went on to have two more weddings, one in Santa Barbara to make it legal and another in Italy with their families, both in May 2022. At her height of pop stardom, Spears eloped to Vegas with her high school friend and they married at A Little White Wedding Chapel at 4 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2004. The bride and groom both wore jeans — hers were ripped, and she paired them with a black crop top and white ball cap. Their marriage was famously annulled 55 hours later because her parents hit the roof because she had no prenup. Alexander was given a coach plane ticket back to Louisiana (after flying to Vegas on Spears's plane). Alexander went on to give countless interviews about the brief marriage. He later tried to crash Spears's third wedding to Sam Asghari in 2022, getting arrested. The Live With Kelly and Mark co-stars fell in love shortly after meeting on the set of All My Children and secretly wed at the Chapel of the Bells in May 1996, telling nobody. Several months later, the news got out thanks to Wendy Williams, but they've had a long and happy union with three children. Ripa, who wrote in her memoir that she and Consuelos briefly broke up before they eloped, waited until 2013 to share a photo from their wedding day. In 2024, the duo visited the chapel where they were married to officiate a wedding. We know the end of this song, but the start seemed like a blast. The singer and Game of Thrones actress were madly in love and, while in Vegas for the Billboard Music Awards, tied the knot during a surprise ceremony at A Little White Wedding Chapel in May 2019. Jonas's brothers, Kevin and Nick, were groomsmen, and an Elvis impersonator did the honors. The bride and groom posed in the pink Cadillac too. Jonas and Turner went on to have a fancy wedding in France, two children and then a very bitter split in 2023. They've moved on — and they have 'beautiful' memories. Thornton was dating actress Laura Dern when he fell for his Pushing Tin co-star Jolie, 20 years his junior, and they eloped to Vegas in 2000 and wed at the Little Church of the West. The bride (previously married to Jonny Lee Miller) wore jeans and a sleeveless shirt to show off her new 'Billy Bob' tattoo, and the groom (married four times prior) wore a black outfit and matching baseball cap. Their wedding cost $120 and included organ music and photos. They later had a ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills. While they were very much in love — becoming known for wearing one another's blood in matching locket necklaces — they split in 2002.
