Success for Lottery.com and Sports.com in Detroit as Seb Murray Secures Career-Best INDY NXT Finish
Sebastian Murray Car at the Detroit Grand Prix Sebastian Murray Logo Shirt Louis Foster Helmet Detroit Callum Ilott Helmet and Car DETROIT, June 02, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It was a weekend of milestones and resilience for Inc. (Nasdaq: LTRY, LTRYW) (" or 'the Company') and as their drivers took on the challenging Streets of Detroit in both the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone. Leading the charge was Scottish rising star Sebastian Murray, who delivered his best career finish in INDY NXT, securing an impressive P6 after a determined drive through the field. Having qualified strongly on the street circuit for the first time, Murray kept his composure during a chaotic start that eliminated several competitors, including his own teammate. Despite sustaining slight rear-end damage early in the race, Murray battled through, showcasing racecraft and resilience to claim his first-ever top-10 finish in the series. 'That's a wrap on Detroit. Honestly, this has been a great weekend as a whole. P6 is a great finish for me and the team — our best so far. Massive thank you to everyone back home and the Andretti Cape guys. The car was strong all weekend,' 'It got pretty chaotic at times, and there was some damage that affected our straight-line speed, but overall, it was a strong race. It would've been nice to grab a top five, but we're happy with the points and the progress.' Murray now moves up to 11th in the INDY NXT standings with 91 points as the series heads next to World Wide Technology Raceway for its first oval race of the season on June 15. Louis Foster Impresses Before Heart-Stopping Incident in DetroitIn the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Louis Foster continued to show why he's one of the sport's brightest young talents. After a strong showing in practice and qualifying, Foster led his first laps in IndyCar by executing an off-sequence strategy, demonstrating speed and maturity well beyond his rookie status. Unfortunately, Foster's promising run ended abruptly when a suspension failure sent him into the wall at over 180 mph. Thanks to IndyCar's industry-leading safety standards and the rapid response of the AMR Safety Team, Foster walked away without serious injury. 'First, thank you to everyone for all of the messages — I am OK,' 'Massive thank you to the IndyCar medical team and the AMR Safety Team for putting driver safety first. We were on for a season-best result, leading laps and running strong. It's disappointing, but that's racing. We'll be back in two weeks.' Foster's strong qualifying and race pace underscored his rapid adaptation to the series, with an average qualifying position of 13th so far this season — a remarkable statistic for a rookie in the ultra-competitive 27-car field. Callum Ilott Shows Strong Pace Before Unfortunate Pit IncidentMeanwhile, Callum Ilott, driving for PREMA Racing, showed flashes of brilliance throughout the weekend, consistently running inside the top ten during the race. Starting from 17th on a split tire strategy, Ilott made early gains and was poised for a strong finish. However, a loose wheel led to contact with the wall and an early end to what was shaping up to be a competitive outing. 'The car was feeling good and we were on track for a solid result,' 'Unfortunately, the front left didn't go on properly during the last pit stop, and I couldn't turn into Turn 1. I'm OK, and the car looks repairable — we'll regroup and come back stronger.' Looking and drivers will now shift their focus to the upcoming oval race at World Wide Technology Raceway. Louis Foster has a strong oval pedigree, winning all oval events in INDY NXT last season, including Gateway. With strong momentum building and lessons learned from Detroit, the future looks bright for the and backed drivers as they prepare for the second half of the season.'We were delighted with the brand exposure generated this weekend, and of course, especially proud of Sebastian Murray's strong top 10 finish in only his fourth INDY NXT appearance. This is exactly why we were excited to have Seb represent our brands in INDY NXT. Both Callum Ilott and Louis Foster also showed flashes of brilliance, even though circumstances outside their control made it a tough weekend for them. We remain incredibly optimistic about the future and look forward to supporting all three drivers as the season progresses.' About The Inc. Leading Andretti Duo Looks To Pull Away from Pack in Motor City
INDYCAR Andretti Global rookie Lochie Hughes has delivered one of the most consistent starts to an INDY NXT by Firestone season in recent memory. The 2024 USF Pro 2000 champion is the only driver to finish on the podium in all four races this year, a feat that would usually earn him the top spot in the points standings. But teammate Dennis Hauger has been even more dominant. SEE: Event Details Hauger, also a rookie, has won three of the season's first four events, drawing comparisons to NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver Alex Palou for his clinical performances. Hauger's only blemish came in Race 1 of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course doubleheader, where early contact with Callum Hedge sent him off track. Despite rejoining at the back of the 21-car field, Hauger salvaged an eighth-place finish. Hughes went on to win that race. As the series heads into the Detroit Grand Prix, Hauger leads the standings by 15 points over Hughes. The rookie battle resumes at 10:30 a.m. ET Sunday, airing on FS1 and the INDYCAR Radio Network. Andretti Dominance Faces Rowe Threat in Detroit Andretti Global has established a firm grip on INDY NXT by Firestone, winning 13 of the last 15 races dating back to Race 2 of the 2023 Indianapolis weekend. That run includes a win on the streets of Detroit last year by eventual series champion Louis Foster, and the team remains undefeated in 2025 – 4-for-4 through the opening stretch of the season. But as the series heads back to Detroit, another emerging force could disrupt that momentum: Myles Rowe. Driving for ABEL Motorsports, Rowe has quietly built a consistent start to the season. After opening the year with back-to-back fourth-place finishes at St. Petersburg and Barber Motorsports Park, Rowe surged with twin third-place results at the IMS road course earlier this month – his first career INDY NXT podiums. Now third in the championship standings, 53 points behind Hauger, Rowe enters Detroit with pace and experience. He finished fourth here last season with HMD Motorsports. Rowe looms as a serious contender, aiming to spoil the Andretti streak and insert himself into the title conversation. Collet Battles to Keep Pace Last year's INDY NXT Rookie of the Year, Caio Collet, arrived in 2025 with high hopes after a strong 2024 campaign that saw him finish third in points and claim a victory at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Returning to HMD Motorsports, the Brazilian driver set realistic championship goals. However, this season has proved challenging. Collet sits fourth in the standings, 70 points adrift of Hauger, and trails teammate Rowe by 17 points for third place. The adage 'it's getting late early' seems fitting as Andretti Global's rookies, Hauger and Hughes, pull away in the points battle. Collet showed flashes of speed, finishing runner-up to Foster in Detroit last season and again securing second place in the first IMS road course race this May. He also stood on the podium with a third-place finish in St. Petersburg. Yet a mechanical failure at Barber Motorsports Park, which relegated him to 19th, combined with a fifth-place finish in the IMS doubleheader finale have put him in a tough position. To keep championship hopes alive, Collet needs to transform podium appearances into victories—and do so consistently. Who Will Rise as Weekend's Breakout Story? While Andretti Global's rookies dominate the headlines, a clutch of drivers and teams are quietly building momentum and could emerge as the weekend's underdog story at Detroit. Jordan Missig impressed with a career-best sixth-place finish in St. Petersburg, driving the No. 48 ABEL Motorsports entry. His teammate, Jack William Miller, showed grit with a climb to ninth in Race 1 at the IMS road course. Meanwhile, Chip Ganassi Racing's Niels Koolen earned a career-best sixth a day later, signaling growth across the board. Evagoras Papasavvas turned heads with a stunning series debut, qualifying third and finishing second at Barber Motorsports Park for HMD Motorsports. One name to watch closely this weekend is ABEL Motorsports' Callum Hedge. The 2023 fourth-place points finisher and Detroit podium veteran sits eighth in the standings with just a single top-five finish this year, a fourth-place effort in Race 1 at IMS. Could Sunday's race mark his maiden INDY NXT victory? Pressure looms from HMD Motorsports teammates Josh Pierson and Liam Sceats. Pierson ranks sixth, riding a streak of four consecutive top-10 finishes, the best run he's had since 2023. That year, he put together five straight top-10s. Sceats, just 19, has quickly found his footing. After an 18th-place INDY NXT debut at St. Petersburg, he's not finished worse than eighth since. Adding to the intrigue, HMD Motorsports swept the inaugural Detroit weekend in 2023 with first career wins by Reece Gold and Nolan Siegel. History suggests the team could be primed for another strong showing this year. Track Specs: 1.645-mile, nine-turn street circuit Qualifying Record: Louis Foster, 1:05.1079, 90.957 mph, June 1, 2024 Push To Pass Parameters: 150 seconds of total time with a maximum time of 15 seconds per activation. recommended

Strong IMS Performances Mark New Level of Niels Koolen's Progress
INDYCAR Niels Koolen has a strong affinity for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Sometimes, drivers just 'click' with certain tracks, whether it's the layout, grip levels or the way the car behaves through particular corners. Koolen, from the Netherlands, has produced his top two INDY NXT by Firestone performances on the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course, suggesting a combination of confidence, rhythm and perhaps even a psychological comfort on the circuit. 'I think it's a certain type of track that just seems to reward a certain type of driving,' Koolen said. Koolen marched from a ninth-place start in the No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing entry to finish a career-best sixth in the 35-lap race Saturday, May 10, the second event of the doubleheader weekend. He finished 10th in Race 1 of last year's INDY NXT by Firestone Indianapolis Grand Prix. 'That felt really good,' Koolen said. 'The team has been doing an amazing job and working really hard all weekends, and we're finally able to show what the car and the team can do.' Koolen's story paints a clear picture of a young driver growing more comfortable and confident in the INDYCAR development series. His European racing experience on flowing, technical circuits seems to be a strong asset on the IMS road course, which many drivers liken to tracks in Europe. Koolen began his professional racing career in 2022 driving in the F4 Spanish Championship and Italian F4 Championship. He moved to Eurocup-3, Formula Regional Middle East Championship and Formula Regional European Championship a year later. He raced in a limited schedule of INDY NXT last season as a rookie, part of a campaign that also included starts in Formula 2 and the European Le Mans Series. Last year's ambitious schedule, though, was a lot to handle. But driving in a variety of cars helped his ability to make in-race adjustments – like using the roll-bar adjusters – also reflects his growing technical understanding and adaptability, crucial skills in a development series like INDY NXT. These small but critical changes can influence balance mid-race, giving drivers like Koolen an edge in racecraft and car control, especially during passes like those he pulled off Saturday. The fact that he's now delivering top-10 finishes, and showing awareness of both the strategic and technical sides of racing, suggests he's progressing well. After a whirlwind rookie season, he's settling into his role with more poise and purpose. 'I should have more experience with this type of car and these types of tracks,' he said. Racing for a prestigious organization like CGR is invaluable for a young driver like Koolen. Being part of a championship-winning operation not only elevates his visibility in the paddock but also gives him rare opportunities to learn directly from legends like Scott Dixon and Alex Palou, who've combined nine NTT INDYCAR SERIES championships, including four of the last five. Their combined experience, championship pedigree and deep understanding of car setup, race strategy and mental resilience are lessons you simply can't get from data alone. Even short conversations with veterans of that caliber can accelerate growth, whether it's about tire management, overtaking techniques or how to approach a race weekend. 'It's a really good to experience to see how they work,' Koolen said of joining CGR. The next race is the Detroit Grand Prix on Sunday, June 1 on the streets of downtown Detroit (10:30 a.m. ET, FS1, FOX Sports app, INDYCAR Radio Network). recommended
