Emmerdale's John riddled with guilt over what he does next to Cain
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) learnt a few days ago that Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) are going to try and work out who killed Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) in Emmerdale. With no intention of holding his hands up and confessing to killing Nate, John came up with an idea to steer the police in another direction, and hopefully give Cain and Tracy some closure. During one of his house visits, John was tasked with going to Owen's. This is the man who spiked Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) a few weeks ago, and also told John recently that he's 'not right in the head'. When John entered, he found Owen unconscious. With knowledge that he was struggling with drink and drugs, an idea started to form for John. Instead of calling an ambulance, he just…let Owen die. He created a backstory by writing a note on Owen's laptop, which will claim that he murdered Nate. In upcoming episodes, DS Walsh tells Cain and Tracy about this development. More Trending John then heads to see Cain, hoping to see an improvement in him after the news about Owen. Frustratingly for John, Cain is still in turmoil. The mechanic then heads to see Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and bombards him with questions about Owen. The GP reuses to breach patient confidentiality, and Cain loses it with him. A while later, Liam tells John about his interaction with Cain and opens up about the harrowing effect of losing a child. John becomes consumed with guilt, realising Owen's so-called confession has just robbed Cain of getting justice. View More » That evening, John contacts the mental health helpline again, but he wonders if it's a risk when the volunteer suggests they call each other, rather than message… MORE: Nate's killer named as unexpected Emmerdale character MORE: Emmerdale character dies in early ITVX release – and John is to blame MORE: Emmerdale's Cain vows to kill Nate's killer as John reels

'Nostalgic' UK TV Classic Is Set To Return – And Fans Are Losing Their Everloving Minds
First, came the news that Byker Grove is set to appear on streaming for the very first time (it'll be on STV Player and ITVX by the end of this year – the first five seasons are already available to watch on ITVX). Well, in what seems to be a mega week for '90s and '00s UK babies, now we have more good news from the Beeb ― the broadcaster recently shared on Instagram that nostalgic hit Balamory is 'returning to CBeebies next year.' Originally made from 2002-2005 (a run so short, fans previously expressed shock at the hit's outsized impact), the BBC iPlayer page added: 'Expect the classic theme song, colourful houses, and some familiar faces!' in their caption. Who'll be in the new Balamory cast? On their site, the BBC said that Balamory will 'blend familiar faces with a host of new characters.' Returning to their roles will be Julie Wilson Nimmo (Miss Hoolie), Andrew Agnew (PC Plum), Kim Tserkezie (Penny Pocket) and Juliet Cadzow (Edie McCredie). New faces will include 'scientist and inventor Ava Potts (played by Danielle Jam), the Harbour Master (William Andrews) and local vet Dr Ollie (Carl Spencer) who lives with his two children.' Kate Morton, Head of Commissioning for zero-to-six-year-olds at BBC Children's and Education, said: 'It's wonderful to see some of the original cast returning alongside new faces, creating a perfect mix of nostalgia and discovery for families to enjoy together. 'This vibrant new series will delight both children and the grown-ups who remember it fondly' (I'm in the latter camp). How many new episodes will the new Balamory have? It's been commissioned for two new series, each containing ten 14-minute-long episodes. Will the new Balamory have the original theme tune? Yes (happy days). The BBC shared on Instagram, 'Expect the classic theme song.' When will the new Balamory come out? We don't have an exact date – the BBC simply says, 'Families can look forward to exploring the world of Balamory once again from 2026.' What has the reaction been to the new Balamory? Fans like me are delighted. 'This is sooo nostalgic for kids (now adults) and parents!' an Instagram user wrote. 'YESSSSS I'M 25 AND I'M SAT,' another shared.

Prue Leith's update on Great British Bake Off exit rumours
It comes as The Masked Singer star was replaced by Caroline Waldegrave as a judge alongside Paul Hollywood on the latest series of the Stand Up 2 Cancer Celebrity Bake Off specials, which left fans concerned. Earlier this week, Prue appeared on ITV's Lorraine to speak about her role as guest chef at Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire this month, as she prepares to head a banquet for hundreds of people. A post shared by Dame Prue Leith (@prueleith) But she also addressed her future on Bake Off and explained: 'I keep being asked if I'm leaving. 'This is because I left the celebrity [version]. I stopped doing that last year because I just hadn't had a holiday in the summer for eight years. I've only given up Celebrity [Bake Off]." Confirming she is still a huge part of the original baking show, described as 'mother of them all', Prue added: 'I still do The Great American Bake Off, which we are filming at the moment, and I still do The Great British Bake Off, which I love, and is the mother of them all." Revealing why the 85-year-old has no plans on going anywhere just yet, Prue commented: "It's the best job in telly. It's absolutely the best job in telly, I don't have to learn lines, I don't have to have a script. I don't have to rehearse. I just walk on and eat cake." You can watch Prue's full Loraine interview on ITVX. Cherish Finden is reportedly set to take over Prue's role on the celebrity Bake Off specials in 2026, following Caroline stepping in this year, according to The Sun.
