Calling all sales professionals - an exciting opportunity is being offered to join the dynamic team at an iconic business based right here in North Wales. Ifor Williams Trailers, the renowned trailer manufacturer, is looking for a talented sales professional to join its sales team in Corwen. More than six decades of trust For more than 65 years, customers have trusted Ifor Williams Trailers for work and leisure. With six advanced manufacturing sites in North Wales, the company manufactures and supplies trailers and parts to suit a wide range of uses, both commercial and domestic. Their flatbed, tipper and general duty trailers are used in a huge variety of industries, from builders to tree surgeons. Rally drivers and garage owners use their car transporter trailers, while their versatile box vans are popular with coach and bus firms, market traders, hot air balloonists, scout troops and tradespeople, who can use them as mobile workshops. Farming and equestrianism have always been a major part of the Ifor Williams Trailers story, from farmers transporting livestock, quad bikes and machinery across their land, to horse owners placing their trust in their reliable and robust horseboxes across the country. Sales coordinator role The advertised role is based at the company's Corwen site, approximately 11 miles west of Llangollen, and based on working from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 12pm one Saturday out of three. The company is looking for a 'high calibre' individual with excellent communication and customer service skills, sales ability, the ability to manage more than one project at the same time, high levels of organisation and attention to detail, and a willingness to go the extra mile for customers. Duties listed include: ● Customer engagement, maximising sales and growth ● Assessing the customer's needs, providing sound sales advice and ensuring the customer is sold the most appropriate trailer ● Dealing with technical or sales enquiries via phone, email or face to face ● Providing professional quotes tailored to the individual's needs in a timely fashion ● Complete all aspects of the sale to include ordering trailers or parts, processing payments and arranging collection or delivery ● Ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved at all times ● Attend local and national shows, dealing with customers from different industries ● Provide technical knowledge, deal with sales and any customer care requirements ● Maintain appropriate stock levels at the site, and be responsible for ensuring trailers/parts are accessible and presented professionally for the customer (this may involve some manual handling) This is a demanding but no doubt rewarding position, and an opportunity to take the next step in your career at a major North Wales manufacturer. Free event in Rhyl will highlight apprenticeship opportunities
The SkillX Apprenticeship and Traineeship Event is being held at the 1891 in Rhyl from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday, July 8. Organised by Working Denbighshire, the event will include talks from employers, providers, and current apprenticeships, as well as the chance to talk to organisations directly. There will be opportunities for people at all levels of experience, with positions available from level one to level seven. Councillor Jason McLellan, leader of the council and lead member for economic growth and tackling deprivation, said: "This event is a fantastic opportunity for residents to explore the wide range of apprenticeships and trainee roles available locally. "By connecting people directly with employers and training providers, we hope to open doors to rewarding careers and support the economic growth of our communities." Ruth Hanson, principal manager at Working Denbighshire, said: "Having seen the benefits of apprenticeships first hand with my own children, I know how valuable these opportunities can be. "This event is a great chance for anyone thinking about their next steps to come along, ask questions, and explore what's out there, whether you're just starting out or thinking about a career change." Attendees will be able to speak to employers, as well as about apprenticeship programmes, including qualifications and progression routes. There will be talks on the benefits of apprenticeships, apprentices' experiences, and employer expectations. Employers attending include Ifor Williams Trailers, the Ministry of Defence, the NHS, the Prison and Probation Service, the Department for Work and Pensions, the Civil Service, and the Fire Service. There will also be training and support providers, including Wrexham University, Careers Wales, Business Wales, Achieve More Training Ltd, Flintshire Communities for Work+, and Screen Alliance Wales. Paid internships and jobs at Deeside and Denbighshire sites
The positive employment news was revealed during a visit to Ifor Williams Trailers by Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth MS who described the company as a role model for other Welsh businesses. Up to 30 candidates chosen to take part in the Summer Programme at the family-owned firm - which has five sites in Deeside and Denbighshire - will be paid £380 a week. According to the company, the eight to 12-week programme would be ideal for students, graduates and people looking for work experience, either on the production line or in office based roles. Photo: Mandy Jones Participants who achieve 100 per cent attendance and work to a high standard throughout the programme will receive a £250 bonus. Mr ap Iorwerth was accompanied on the tour of the company's Sandycroft factory, which makes livestock trailers, by North Wales MS, Llyr Gruffydd. During the visit, they met several graduates of previous Summer Programmes who have since secured permanent jobs with the company. The factories manufacture and supply a wide range of trailers and genuine parts to a network of 50 UK outlets and more than 60 international distributors as far afield as Australia and New Zealand. Mr ap Iorwerth said: "It's always a company I've admired because it's grown so much over the years but I have to say that coming here today I have learned more about them, how they've developed and their ambition to continue growing. Among the Summer Programme graduates the pair met was Bedwyr Pritchard, 17, who operates a robot welder at their Ty'n Llidiart factory in Corwen. He said: "I was really pleased that I was accepted to take part in the Summer Programme and I learned a lot. Everybody there is nice and very kind. I live across the road to the factory so I can even go home for dinner." Design engineer Joe Smith, 21, from Chester, also landed a permanent job after taking part in the Summer Progamme while he was studying automotive engineering at Bristol University. He said: "During the Summer Programme I was working making axles and once we'd made enough axles for the day I would work on the production line assembling the trailers. "I am really enjoying it and I think I have integrated well, I get along with everybody here. It's interesting work and there's a good career path for me here. They do look after you." According to Ifor Williams Trailers managing director, John Williams, he was delighted to host the visit by Mr ap Iorwerth and Mr Gruffydd.
