LSU football makes cut for elite five-star offensive linemen after official visit

LSU football makes cut for elite five-star offensive linemen after official visit LSU football target Immanuel Iheanacho listed the Tigers in his top four, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett on Friday. The five-star offensive lineman is down to LSU, Oregon, Penn State, and Auburn. The Ducks remain the frontrunners, as On3's Prediction Machine gives them an 86.1% chance of landing Iheanacho's commitment. Steve Wiltfong logged this prediction in mid-May. Iheanacho took his official visit to Baton Rouge on May 30, with trips to the other three schools scheduled for June. He ranks as the No. 3 prospect in the 2026 class, second at his position and first out of Maryland. The Baltimore native would add to the SEC's top class in the cycle as the third offensive lineman. Jalen Chapman and Brysten Martinez locked in their decisions, both Louisiana natives. Iheanacho would be a huge get for LSU as it looks to cement the top spot across the country among 2026 recruiting class. All four major recruiting services rank Iheanacho as the No. 2 offensive tackle in the class, behind Miami commit Jackson Cantwell. With offensive line coach Brad Davis and tight ends coach Alex Atkins, LSU has two of the top offensive line recruiters in the country. LSU's top linemen usually come from Louisiana, but LSU has the resources to land a national five-star. LSU's recruiting class ranks No. 2 in the country with USC holding the top spot.

Nation's No. 3 Recruit Drops Cryptic Message After Finalizing Top 4 Schools

Nation's No. 3 Recruit Drops Cryptic Message After Finalizing Top 4 Schools originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the college football offseason continues to roll on, many teams are starting to put a tremendous amount of effort into landing players in the 2026 recruiting class. Advertisement One name that has been making a lot of noise is Class of 2026 offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho out of Baltimore, Maryland, who stands at a staggering 6-foot-7 and weighs 350 pounds On Friday, On3's Hayes Fawcett reported that Iheanacho has significantly narrowed down his list and will be choosing between LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions and Auburn Tigers. Of course, it's a big decision, and Iheanacho even went to social media to get the opinion of some fans, reposting Fawcett's report with a caption featuring a house emoji followed by a question mark. There's no doubt that all four of these teams would love to land him, as he's listed as a five-star recruit, the No. 2 offensive tackle, the No. 1 player in Maryland and the No. 3 player in the nation, per On3 Industry Rankings. Advertisement Throughout his high school career, Iheanacho has proven to be a dominant player, being named a 2024 MaxPreps Junior All-American after not allowing a single sack during his most recent season. Of course, all four programs will get a chance to host Iheanacho for official visits. He'll be at Auburn on Friday, having already visited LSU on May 30, and will visit Penn State on June 13 and Oregon on June 20. Penn State Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin and Oregon Ducks head coach Dan LanningRobert Goddin-Imagn Images Before making his official decision on Aug. 5, much of the momentum favors Oregon, as the On3 recruiting prediction machine currently gives it the best chances (86.1%) to land Iheanacho's commitment. 5-Star Recruit Immanuel Iheanacho Names His Top 4 Schools

5-Star Recruit Immanuel Iheanacho Names His Top 4 Schools originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Five-star Class of 2026 recruit Immanuel Iheanacho narrowed his list to the top four schools heading into the summer on Friday. Advertisement Iheanacho is an offensive tackle for Georgetown Preparatory School in Baltimore, Maryland, and is considering the Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks and Penn State Nittany Lions as his options, according to On3 reporter Keegan Pope. The four schools are the only ones he has officially visited, and he plans to announce his commitment on Aug. 5. Heading into June, Iheanacho indicated that Oregon is his first option. 'Oregon is the top school, but these official visits will play a big part in my final decision,' he told On3 reporter Chad Simmons. 'My relationship with the coaches at Oregon is what has them at the top. I like the staff a lot, and we can talk about anything.' Iheanacho has already visited the Dan Lanning-led Ducks twice and left pleased both times. Advertisement 'My second visit there was great,' he continued. 'I loved my first one, too. My parents also love Oregon, so it helps to get their opinion. The connection with the coaching staff is really the biggest thing for me with Oregon.' The Ducks are well known for their strong offensive line, so adding Iheanacho would be a solid choice. He showcased his superior blocking skills as a 6-foot-6, 345-pound lineman in the Under Armor All-American Game on Jan. 2 in Deland, Florida, and the Polynesian Bowl on Jan. 16 in Honolulu. This season as a junior, he was named a MaxPreps All-American for not allowing a single sack the entire season en route to helping Georgetown Prep win its fifth Interstate Athletic Conference title in six years, per his 247 Sports player profile. Rebilas-Imagn Images Furthermore, as a sophomore, Iheanacho helped his team go 8-2 and primarily played left tackle but sometimes right tackle. He also received first-team all-league honors that season because of his outstanding ability to prevent opposing defenders from sacking the quarterback. Tuesdays with Gorney: Commitment predictions for 2026 five-stars

With No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Cantwell coming off the board this afternoon, Rivals national recruiting director Adam Gorney takes a look – and makes a prediction - on the remaining five-stars in today's Tuesdays With Gorney. RUMOR MILL: Decisions on deck for top prospects CLASS OF 2025 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2027 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State TRANSFER PORTAL: Full coverage | Player ranking | Team ranking | Transfer search | Transfer Tracker With the flip of Jonas Williams to USC and five-star quarterback Jared Curtis to Georgia, Oregon has had some unfortunate quarterback news this cycle. But the Ducks could end up winning big in the end because this opens up a clear pathway for Lyons to play there and be sold on being an ever better version of Bo Nix. Advertisement Michigan and BYU are the other front-runners with USC, Ole Miss and Ohio State lingering but Oregon does look strong here. Prediction: Oregon There have been multiple leaders along the way for Iheanacho as Maryland and Georgia have held that mantle and now Oregon looks like the team to beat. But he's had great visits to Penn State and elsewhere so there is a wild card factor when it comes to his recruitment. The Ducks missing out on Cantwell further puts Iheanacho in the spotlight as a must-get offensive tackle for Oregon in this class and if signing day was right now, the Ducks would win out. Prediction: Oregon A top list of front-runners has been released but the word has been that USC, Oregon and Texas A&M have taken the lead in his recruitment. The two-way speedster from Spring Valley (Calif.) Mount Miguel has been tagged to the Aggies for some time. Advertisement But Oregon has been surging, especially after recent visits and track could be playing a factor here as well. Prediction: Oregon A top six of Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Colorado and Clemson has emerged for the Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell five-star receiver and the Crimson Tide have become the favorite to land him ahead of his July 2 decision. Morgan had an excellent visit to Colorado over the weekend but coach Deion Sanders was not in town apparently because of an emergency so that could be unfortunate if the Buffaloes were looking to surprise. Alabama just makes too much sense here. Advertisement Prediction: Alabama The five-star offensive tackle had great visits to Ole Miss, Colorado and Texas Tech recently – the last one being a late surprise trip to Lubbock – but this still very much feels like a two-team race between Texas and Ohio State. There are any number of reasons why he would choose the Buckeyes but it really feels like the Longhorns have jumped ahead for the Mansfield (Texas) Lake Ridge standout and getting Kelvin Banks Jr. inside the top 10 of the NFL Draft cannot hurt. Prediction: Texas Miami has to like where it's sitting for the five-star running back out of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna as the Hurricanes have done everything right up to this point to eventually land the versatile offensive five-star. Advertisement But Georgia (where Cooper had been committed briefly) and Ohio State are looming large. Texas should not be overlooked when it comes down to decision time, either. Prediction: Miami There have been some significant changes at the top for the five-star safety from Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances in a list of front-runners that continues to see changes. Georgia is now the team to beat for Edwards along with Alabama and Oregon after Texas A&M had been the top program to watch. Edwards could now be Georgia's to lose. Prediction: Georgia Alabama, USC, LSU and Texas A&M are the four battling it out for the reclassified five-star receiver from DeSoto, Texas, who plans to commit on July 4. It really might be a battle between the Aggies and the Tigers down the stretch, though, and after the feeling was for a while that Feaster would pick LSU (since he's from Shreveport and has always had an affinity for playing receiver there) it now looks like Texas A&M has the lead heading into the final weeks. Advertisement Prediction: Texas A&M Georgia leads the pack, although other SEC programs are not going away, Ohio State continues to be very intriguing in his recruitment and Clemson, Oregon and others are hanging around. The Loganville (Ga.) Grayson standout has visited UGA numerous times. He continues to build a strong bond with coach Kirby Smart and defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann. The Dawgs just don't lose on a lot of these guys. Prediction: Georgia Alabama has been perceived as the front-runner for some time in Jones' recruitment and that has not changed for the five-star edge rusher from Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul's as the offseason wears on. Advertisement But there will be significant competition from Auburn, Oregon and others before Jones signs with a program. Alabama will be tough to beat, sure, but it won't be on cruise control for the Crimson Tide. Prediction: Alabama

Oregon Football new leader for 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho

Oregon Football new leader for 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho When it comes to recruiting 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, the Oregon Ducks have been among the leaders for a long time, and they appear to be creating some separation recently. Over the weekend, 247Sports reported that Iheanacho is down to four schools at the moment, with the Ducks leading the way and the hometown Maryland Terrapins no longer in the running. This is notable, considering that Maryland was considered one of the leaders, if not the sole leader, in his recruitment until that point. On Monday, the 247Sports Recruiting Staff logged a prediction for Iheanacho to end up at Oregon. He will take his final official visit to Eugene on June 22 and announce his commitment on August 5. Standing at 6-foot-7, 350 pounds, Iheanacho is a massive product who is among the top players on Oregon's board this cycle. The 247Sports Composite rates him as the No. 4 overall player in the 2026 class and the No. 2 OT. The Ducks picked up a commitment from 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley over the weekend, and they also landed a projection to get a commitment from 4-star WR Messiah Hampton on Monday morning as well.
