Linkin Park Bookends The Top 10 With Multiple Career-Starting Smashes

Linkin Park's 'In the End' climbs to No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, with ... More 'Numb' also hits the top 10, allowing the band to bookend the top 10. UNITED STATES - NOVEMBER 10: Photo of LINKIN PARK; Chester Bennington performing at Arrowhead Pond, Anaheim (Photo by Christina Radish/Redferns) Linkin Park long ago proved itself to be one of the biggest names in the history of hard rock music, and the band is far from done reasserting its dominance. The nu-metal outfit's fanbase typically skews younger than some of the genre's classic names, so the group's music performs especially well on streaming platforms. Its placements on Billboard rankings dedicated to that consumption format is usually impressive, and that's certainly the case this week. Linkin Park returns to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart this frame. The band pushes "In the End" from No. 5 to the top spot on Billboard's list of the most-played hard rock-only cuts in the United States on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and others. The smash has, somewhat surprisingly, only ruled for a total of eight frames throughout its decades-long lifespan. Linkin Park doesn't just rise to No. 1 this week. The band collects a pair of current top 10s on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally, and even manages to bookend the competitive space. In addition to "In the End" hitting the summit, "Numb" jumps from No. 12 to No. 10. Unlike "In the End," "Numb" has never managed to rule the roster, as it has previously stalled in the runner-up space. This week, Linkin Park is the only group to score a pair of top 10 hits on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. Just days ago, that distinction belonged to Sleep Token. The band, which is still riding high off the success of its first No. 1 album Even in Arcadia, filled four slots inside that tier. Now, all but one have slipped below the No. 10 mark. Linkin Park is one of only three names to occupy two slots anywhere on the 25-position Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally at the moment. Sleep Token continues to dominate with four wins, while Three Days Grace ties Linkin Park for the second-most appearances, as each claims two. "In the End" and "Numb" are tied as Linkin Park's longest-running smashes on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. Both have held on for 261 weeks — just over five years. Only three other tracks by the band have earned even double-digit stays, including "One Step Closer" (21 weeks), "The Emptiness Machine" (17 frames), and "Heavy Is the Crown" (13 stays).
