Modi didn't succumb to Trump's pressure, affirms BJP leader

Hyderabad: BJP LP leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for what he described as 'playing dirty politics' by promoting a foreign agenda that aims to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Armed Forces, and the country as a whole. He was responding to alleged remarks made by the Chief Minister during the Jai Hind rally organised by Congress in Bachupalli on Friday. Maheshwar Reddy stated that Revanth's comments reflect a pro-Pakistan stance within Congress. He emphasised that despite Prime Minister Modi's assertion that Operation Sindoor remains ongoing to combat Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, CM Revanth Reddy is using political tactics that undermine Modi's credibility. Maheshwar Reddy condemned Revanth Reddy's claims regarding national security and foreign affairs, particularly the assertion that Modi bowed to pressure from US President Donald Trump, agreeing to a ceasefire without engaging in war with Pakistan, thereby compromising the dignity of 150 crore Indians. He deemed these comments highly inappropriate and equated them to acts of treason. The BJP leader alleged that Congress rallies are echoing pro-Pakistani sentiments while criticising Modi under the guise of Jai Hind rallies, thus exposing what he called the bankrupt politics of Congress. He expressed shame that the party is politicising issues of national security and foreign affairs. He argued that if India had indeed succumbed to pressure from President Trump, the Indian Army would not have carried out attacks against Pakistan.

Three Indian Armed Forces Chiefs Will Not Attend IPL 2025 Final: Sources

As a tribute to Operation Sindoor - the military operation carried out in response to the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, that claimed the lives of 26 civilians - the IPL 2025 Governing Council and the BCCI had invited all three service chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces to attend the IPL final on June 3 in Ahmedabad. However, NDTV has learned that all three service chiefs would not be present there for the game. The Board had invited the three chiefs three days back but they will not be able to make it to the game. The BCCI and IPL Governing Council earlier decided to use the IPL 2025 final as a platform to honour the armed forces and pay homage to the victims of the tragic incident. IPL 2025 season was temporarily suspended for a week earlier this month in the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, following the Pahalgam attack. Military action across the Line of Control and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir prompted a brief halt to cricketing action. Once both nations announced a ceasefire agreement, the tournament resumed with a revised schedule. As a result, the final, initially planned for May 26, was pushed to June 3, and the remaining matches are now being played across six designated venues. In the resumed leg of the season, the BCCI has consistently made efforts to show solidarity with the armed forces. At every match since the restart, the national anthem has been played before the first ball, and 'Thank You, Armed Forces' messages have been prominently displayed on the giant screens inside stadiums. The final match of the season is scheduled to be held on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have already made it to the final of IPL 2025, while Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans are the other three teams in contention for the remaining one spot in the summit clash. ‘We were crying:' PM Modi meets family of Pahalgam attack victim Shubham Dwivedi

One of Shubham's cousins said that it was a very emotional moment and all family members teared up during the meeting with PM Modi read more Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday (May 30) met with the kin of Shubham Dwivedi – one of the 26 victims killed in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. News agency PTI quoted one of Shubham's cousins as saying that it was a very emotional moment and all family members teared up during the meeting. 'All the family members started crying when they met Modi,' said Saurabh Dwivedi. The 31-year-old victim had tied the knot in February, just weeks before the April tragedy. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The meeting comes after the family members raised a request to meet the prime minister through their regional lawmaker, MP Ramesh Awasthi. 'We requested our Honourable Parliamentarian, Ramesh Awasthi, that kindly allow us to meet PM Modi on his scheduled visit to Kanpur on 30th May. Awasthi not only assured us of his full support but also immediately wrote a letter to the Prime Minister, requesting that he meet with us. Yesterday, we learned through the media that the Prime Minister will indeed be meeting our family during his visit to Kanpur. This news brought us a great sense of relief and hope. We had faith that the Honourable Prime Minister, who deeply respects the sacrifices made for the nation, would acknowledge our plea,' said Saurabh. Shubham was with his wife and sister-in-law when terrorists killed him, after identifying he was a Hindu, in Pahalgam on April 22. Terrorists shot him in the head, leading to his immediate death. Later, his wife had urged the nation to acknowledge her husband's death and sacrifice. 'I only have one hope – that Shubham is given the status of a martyr. The Honourable Prime Minister is coming to meet us on the 30th, and I believe he will speak with us about this. I truly hope that during his visit to pay tribute to Shubham, he will officially recognise his sacrifice. It would mean everything to me if, on that day, my husband is honoured as a martyr,' she said. Operation Sindoor In response to the Pahalgam massacre, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In response to further Pakistani aggression, the Indian Armed Forces launched heavy strikes, including on Pakistani airbases.
