Admissions open for ITI courses in Pudukottai, Viralimalai, and Keeranur

Applications to the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Pudukottai, Viralimalai, and Keeranur are open. The courses will begin in August. Students will receive free bicycles, uniforms, textbooks, and bus passes. Women and men will receive a monthly stipend of ₹1,000 under the Puthumai Penn and Naan Puthalvan schemes, respectively. Direct admissions to first and second year diploma courses are being offered for students at the Srirangam government polytechnic in Sethurapatti for the year 2025-2026. Diploma in Civil Engineering (DCE – Civil), Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME – Mechanical), Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DEEE – Electronics an Electronic, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering (DECE - Electronics and Communication), and Diploma in Computer Science Engineering (DCSE – Computer), and Diploma in Cyber Systems and Information Security Engineering (DCSIS) are some of the courses that are being offered at the government polytechnic college, said an official note. Students can apply directly in person by paying an application fee of ₹150 or apply through Students belonging to the SC/ST communities are exempt from making a payment for the application. Annual fees are ₹2,242. A pass in Class 10 for first-year applicants and a pass in Class 12 or a Industrial Training Institute certificate for direct second-year admission are the eligibility criteria. The college is equipped with laboratories and smart classrooms are available on the premises. Scholarships for boys and girls will be available. Additionally, first-year students will be given free bus pass, free textbooks, hostel facilities, and train fare concessions.

1 2 3 4 Ahmedabad: Two individuals — an 18-year-old ITI student and a 36-year-old man — died in two separate road accidents in Ahmedabad on Monday. In the first incident, Mohammad Hamza , a resident of Sarkhej and a second-year electronics trainee at the govt Industrial Training Institute (ITI), lost his life in a hit and run near Meldi Mata Mandir, close to the APMC Crossroads in Vejalpur. According to an FIR filed by his uncle Sarfaraz Ansari with M Division traffic police, Hamza took the family's electric scooter to visit a friend. While returning late at night, a truck hit the scooter from behind. Hamza sustained serious head injuries and multiple fractures. He was rushed to Sola Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead. His friend, who was riding with him, suffered facial injuries and is currently receiving treatment. The dumper driver fled the scene. The FIR was registered on Tuesday under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 106(1) for causing death by negligent act, Section 281 for endangering public safety, Section 125(a)(b) for causing hurt by negligent driving, and Section 324(4) for causing hurt by dangerous means. He was riding with a friend, Prakash Parmar, when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Madhvi suffered fatal head injuries and died on the spot. Parmar sustained minor injuries and was admitted for treatment. An FIR for this accident was filed at the B Division traffic police station. Officials have begun an inquiry into the cause, which may include over-speeding or road surface issues.

KOTA KINABALU (May 17): Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Shahelmey Yahya's membership in Umno remains suspended, confirmed Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He clarified that Shahelmey, along with several other Umno members currently serving in the Sabah state government, has neither been expelled from the party nor voluntarily resigned. 'Datuk Shahelmey and the others did not leave Umno, and they were not dismissed. Their status is suspended,' Zahid told reporters. He was responding to questions on whether Shahelmey and the others would be allowed to contest in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election (PRN17). Zahid said the matter would ultimately be decided by the state Umno leadership. 'Whether they will contest again or not, that depends on the wisdom of Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin,' he said after launching the Sepanggar Umno Gerak 17 machinery at the Industrial Training Institute (IKM)in Sepanggar on Saturday. Registration for ITI admission begins

Pune: The process for admission to the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for the academic year 2025-26 has commenced. The online application process started on Thursday, 15 May 2025. The submission of options for the first round will begin on 26 May. The detailed schedule for admission will be announced on the website after the option process for the first round begins on 26 May. The central online admission process is being conducted for admissions under the Craftsman Training Scheme for the August 2025 session. Free guidance sessions for candidates will be held in every govt and private ITI from Thursday, 15 May, onwards between 10 am and 11 am. Information about the admission method, rules, and technical details about the admission website will be available. The application fee is Rs 100 for reserved categories and Rs 150 for general categories. Candidates from outside Maharashtra will have a fee of Rs 300, and non-resident Indian candidates will have a fee of Rs 500. All ITIs are application acceptance centres. Online application filling, verification, and acceptance will be done there. It is mandatory to register a mobile number in the application; only one application per number is allowed. After filling in the primary information, the candidate's admission account registration number will be the user ID. Under the "Admission Activities" heading, the application form must be filled out. After paying the fee and before finalising the application, candidates can make changes to the information in the application. Following this, the document verification process for students must be completed.
