Infinix Hot 60 series makes global debut

Infinix unveiled the Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ about two weeks ago, and as promised, the brand today introduced the Hot 60 Pro+ for the global markets, accompanied by three more smartphones. The Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ is powered by the Helio G200 SoC, comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage onboard, and boots Android 15 with XOS 15.1 on top. Infinix has promised OS upgrades till Android 18 and security updates for five years for the smartphone. The Hot 60 Pro+ is built around a 6.78" 144Hz 1,224p curved AMOLED display with a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication and a centered punch hole for the 13MP selfie camera. Around the back is a 50MP primary camera accompanied by an auxiliary unit. The smartphone also features an Active Halo Light on the rear. Keeping the Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ up and running is a 5,160 mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. The handset is also IP65-rated, has NFC, features dual stereo speakers tuned by JBL, and sports a One-Tap AI button. However, two of the biggest highlights of the Hot 60 Pro+ are its slim profile (5.95mm) and weight (155 g). The Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ will be available in Titanium Silver, Misty Violet, Sleek Black, Sonic Yellow, Moco Cyber Green, and Coral Tides colorways. The Moco Cyber Green model is a special edition featuring a back panel with Scent Weave Leather, whose fragrance is inspired by Davidoff Cool Water. Infinix will sell the Hot 60 Pro+ with two memory options - 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The smartphone is available in some global markets starting today, with the base model priced at $150. Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ in Titanium Silver, Misty Violet, Sleek Black, Sonic Yellow, Moco Cyber Green, and Coral Tides colorways Alongside the Hot 60 Pro+, Infinix also introduced the Hot 60 Pro, Hot 60i, and Hot 60 5G for the international markets. These are also available in some global markets starting today, but Infinix is yet to share their pricing details. You can check their detailed specs here, but note that the global models of these phones may come with different memory configurations and color options. It's also worth mentioning that a version of the Hot 60 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7060 SoC and has NFC.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge wannabe proves you can fit a bigger battery in a slim body

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is very slim, but has a small battery | Image credit: PhoneArena The Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung's thinnest smartphone at just 5.8mm. Because it's so slim, the South Korean company had issues packing a bigger battery inside the phone. Truth be told, Samsung could have included a bigger battery with the Galaxy S25 Edge if it went for a silicon-carbon battery instead of its traditional lithium-ion Infinix, a Chinese company that makes phones for dozens of markets in Asia, Middle East and Africa, proves that it's possible to fit a bigger battery in a very slim body. Infinix's next smartphone, the Hot 60 Pro+, will have a 5,160 mAh battery, GSMArena reports. What makes the phone stand out is the fact that it's only 5.95mm thick and weighs just 154.6g. In comparison, the Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick and weighs 163.8g, so while Samsung's flagship is thinner, it's also slightly heavier than Infinix's smartphone probably because of the premium materials it uses (and the lithium-ion battery?). But that's alright, not all phones must have top-tier specs. For starters, Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. This is a rather new chipset that's to be used in mid-range phones. As far as the camera goes, Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ has at least one 50-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel selfie snapper. Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ is a good example of a company willing to adopt new technologies in order to make its products stand out. Samsung has yet to use silicon-carbon batteries in its flagships, but that might change next year when the Galaxy S26 is expected to be released.
