Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy on Sunday has announced that the State government is committed to realise Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ambitious 'Vision 2047'. Addressing the media after participating in a meeting organised by Yadava Employees and Professionals Association here, the Minister appealed to students and the youth at large to work towards making Andhra Pradesh a developed State by 2047. 'The State has received investments to the tune of ₹7 lakh crore so far and is set to witness industrialisation on an unprecedented scale. The NDA alliance government is working towards creating 20 lakh jobs in the next five years,' he said. Mr. Parthasarathy also appreciated Minister for HRD and Industries Nara Lokesh for his efforts towards creation of first-of-its-kind Quantum Valley in the State. The I&PR Minister announced that new accreditation cards to working journalists will be issued soon. While the TDP government gave 21,000 accreditation cards in 2014, the subsequent YSRCP regime brought it down to 12,000 in 2019. 'We have formed a sub-committee to study the issue and are committed to reaching out to all the eligible journalists. The issue will most likely be placed in the ensuing Cabinet meeting', the Minister said.

Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy stated that the coalition government is working with the sole objective of public welfare. On Saturday, during his visit to Agiripalli, the Minister met several families and enquired about problems being faced by them. He directed the officials concerned over the phone to resolve several problems that were brought to his attention during the visit. The Minister emphasised that right from the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu down to grassroots leaders, everyone is working earnestly to solve the problems of the poor. The pension distribution programme is also being carried out alongside, reflecting the government's commitment in staying connected with the people and understanding their difficulties. The Annadata Sukhibhava and Talliki Vandanam welfare schemes would be launched soon. Despite financial constraints, the government is moving forward with both welfare and development programmes, he said. Alleging that the previous government slowed down the State's progress across various sectors, he said that Mr. Naidu is making determined efforts to stabilise the State's economy while simultaneously attracting large-scale industrial investments. Measures are also being taken to provide employment opportunities to the youth. The people have given the coalition government a historic victory, and they will work tirelessly to meet the people's expectations with a strong sense of responsibility, he said. Mr. Parthasarathy assured that the Chintalapudi project would be completed within the next five years, addressing drinking and irrigation water needs of the constituency. Furthermore, he declared that every poor person without a home will be provided a permanent house within the next five years by the coalition government. The Minister made it clear that any poor individual with a problem can approach him directly and get their issue resolved and there is no place for brokers or middlemen. A special review meeting in coordination with the Sub-Collector would be convened to address land issues in the mandal, noting that many people have been filing complaints regarding land matters. A dedicated platform involving the Joint Collector and Sub-Collector will be set up to resolve these issues. Drainage and road problems in Agiripalli mandal would be resolved soon, he added.

Hyderabad: The Indiramma Housing beneficiaries were elated with the assistance provided by the State government for making their dream come true and said they had never dreamt of owning a house. Housing, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy interacted with the beneficiaries through a video conference for an hour and a half from his office in the Secretariat on Sunday. 'I never dreamed that I could get an Indiramma's house. We have been living in huts and thatched sheds for 10-15 years. After the Congress came to power we got a Indiramma house. We laid a slab. They gave us Rs 4 lakh. We will complete the house work in a few days. You should come with CM Revanth Reddy Sir for our housewarming function, Sir. If you come, we will make jowar rotis; we will also offer you a sumptuous meal. Revanth Reddy Sir will also give us rice that all of you eat. With that rice we will serve food,' said a beneficiary. A beneficiary from Khammam district, Uma, said she got Indiramma house and she was very happy. She said Rs 2 lakh was given for the basement and walls so far. 'We have also laid the slab. Revanth Reddy Sir has fulfilled our wish of having our own house,' she said. Lakshmi from Nagireddypalli village in Bommaraspet mandal in Kodangal said, 'we were facing a lot of trouble without a house. Revanth Reddy Sir has given us a house. You are sending us money and even today we received Rs 2 lakh for the slab. Sir, you should take Revanth Reddy Sir and come for the housewarming ceremony. I will pay for the journey and cook food with the rice given by the CM Sir. You should definitely come, Sir,' she said. Accepting the invitations, the minister said the construction work of Indiramma houses, which was undertaken with great pride with the aim of realising the dream of owning a house for the poor, was progressing vigorously and housewarming functions will be held soon. He said Rs 14.44 crore was released from May 19; 47,335 houses have been sanctioned under the pilot project of the Indiramma Housing Scheme;7,824 houses have been completed up to basement, 895 houses have completed construction of walls; 64 completed up to slab. The minister said despite difficulties faced by the government due to financial devastation caused by the previous government, as per promise made to the poor, 'we will release funds to the beneficiaries every Monday, even if they are mortgaged. We will deposit funds directly into the bank accounts of the Indiramma beneficiaries without waiting for a single day. So far Rs 56.82 crore was released for 5,682 houses whose basements have been completed, Rs. 2 lakh for 497 houses with walls completed, Rs. 9.94 crore for 33 houses whose slabs have been completed. He said till now, Rs. 68.08 crore has been released for Indiramma houses.

Nagpur: The Directorate General of Information and Public Relations' regional offices in Nagpur and Amravati emerged among the top performers in the Maharashtra govt's 100-day administrative reform initiative. In a state-level competition involving 40 divisional and 42 district offices across various revenue departments, the Nagpur office secured third position, while Amravati was placed second. The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division clinched the top rank. Offices were evaluated on 10 key parameters, including website upgrades, infrastructure improvements, grievance redressal, hygiene, use of artificial intelligence, ease of doing business, and technological adoption. Under the leadership of director (Information) Ganesh Mule, the Nagpur-Amravati regional information offices made significant strides in all evaluated areas. "This recognition reflects the commitment of our team towards transparent and citizen-friendly governance," Mule said. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated all participating offices for their "exceptional efforts" and encouraged them to sustain their momentum in future governance benchmarks. Principal secretary and director general of Information and Public Relations, Brijesh Singh, also commended the dedicated work of all regional office heads and teams. Key contributors from the Nagpur office included assistant director Pallavi Dharav and information officers Ritesh Bhuyar, Gajanan Bawane, Komal Banaith, Dilip Jadhav, and others, whose coordinated efforts were instrumental in securing the honour. In 8 years, Punjab govt spent Rs 1,500cr on ads in electronic and print media

Bathinda: An RTI query has revealed that the Punjab govt has spent Rs 1,534 crore over the past 8 years on promoting its achievements through advertisements or notices in print and electronic media. Out of this, Rs 1,093 crore was spent on electronic media, and Rs 441.22 crore on print. Of the Rs 441.22 crore, Rs 317.17 crore was spent in the last three years, as revealed by information procured by a social activist from Bathinda under the RTI Act. Bathinda-based RTI activist Sanjeev Goyal received a reply from the Director of Information and Public Relations on May 13, according to which Rs 1,093 crore was spent on advertisements in electronic media over the last 8 years, from 2017 to March 2025, but a year-wise breakdown was not provided. Sanjeev stated that according to the reply on money spent on advertisements in print media, Rs 124.05 crore was spent under the Congress govt from 2017 to 2022, and Rs 317.17 crore was spent over three years under the Aam Aadmi Party govt from 2022 to March 23, 2025. As per the reply, Rs 5.77 crore was spent in 2017-18, Rs 14.24 crore in 2018-19, Rs 25.31 crore in 2019-20, Rs 26.70 crore in 2020-21, Rs 52.03 crore in 2021-22, Rs 92.76 crore in 2022-23, Rs 129.97 crore in 2023-24, and Rs 94.44 crore in 2024-25 (till March 23, 2025). He mentioned that in 2023-24, the amount spent on advertisements or notices in print media was the highest, at almost Rs 130 crore. MSID: 121340954 413 |
