Assassin's Creed Shadows co-op mode coming in 2026 after DLC claims report
A new leak has shed light on the release date for Assassin's Creed Shadows first DLC, along with a rumoured co-op mode. Assassin's Creed Shadows may have fallen short of sales for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but it's still been a major hit for Ubisoft. Set in feudal Japan, the new instalment scored the second highest day one sales in the franchise's history. In the US, meanwhile, Assassin's Creed Shadows is the second best-selling game of the year so far, behind Monster Hunter Wilds. Ubisoft has already announced the game's first DLC, Claws Of Awaji, will release later this year, but a new report has narrowed down the release date. According to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft is 'targeting September 2025' for the Claws Of Awaji DLC, citing sources familiar with the game's development. However, it's claimed the DLC could be pushed back to October this year, depending on Ubisoft's release strategy for other titles. Elsewhere in the report, the previously rumoured co-op mode for Assassin's Creed Shadows, codenamed League, is said to still be in development and will launch 'sometime next year'. While this co-op mode was originally assumed to revolve around the game's two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke, a source suggests it might include other characters too. 'While they're obviously central characters, there's a deeper narrative tied into the co-op that will expand the experience beyond just the two of them,' a source states. Assassin's Creed has some history with multiplayer, with the Paris-based Assassin's Creed Unity featuring dedicated co-op missions. Other games in the series have had multiplayer modes as well, like Assassin's Creed 3's wolfpack mode, but this was only really a minor distraction. More Trending As for Assassin's Creed Shadows first DLC, Claws Of Awaji takes place on the island of Awaji, where you will 'reclaim a lost treasure while avoiding the traps and ambushes of deadly new foes', according to a synopsis. It will feature a new bō weapon type for Naoe, along with new skills, gear, and abilities over the course of 10 hours. Beyond Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft is reportedly developing a multiplayer spin-off codenamed Invictus and a remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Ports of both Assassin's Creed Mirage and Shadows are also apparently on the way for the Switch 2. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter, and sign-up to our newsletter. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is coming next April: Ubisoft
French video game publisher Ubisoft has reportedly revealed that the 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time' remake will go on sale before April 2026. According to a report by Insider Gaming, Ubisoft in its earnings call revealed that the progress on the game is on track and it will be released before the first half of next year. According to a report by The Verge, this game was originally supposed to be launched in 2021, however, due to some reason it got delayed thrice. As per The Verge, amidst the delays, the game got shipped to a different studio which had to start from scratch which is why it is possible that the game lost its original writer and notable performance of its English voice actor. What changed between 2021 and 2025 When the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was first revealed in 2020, it featured Yuri Lowenthal—the original English voice of the Prince—and series creator, Jordan Mechner. According to The Verge, at the time, Lowenthal praised Ubisoft for preserving Mechner's original script and joked about being retained over a 'younger, hotter actor.' However, since the project was handed over to Ubisoft's Montreal studio in 2022, the extent of their current involvement remains uncertain. Fans are left wondering if the changes are truly for the better—or will the remake lack the essence of the original game.

Ubisoft says its Prince of Persia remake will finally arrive by early 2026
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was originally supposed to arrive on January 21st, 2021. Since then, it's been delayed three times, got shipped to a different studio, reportedly started over from scratch, and may have lost the original writer and amazing performances of its English voice actor. But Ubisoft has revealed the game is finally on the way — and will go on sale before April 2026, as spotted by Insider Gaming. In Ubisoft's latest earnings release, the company reveals that it expects the Prince of Persia remake to be one of the games that will help its bottom line during the next fiscal year, FY2025-2026. Since Ubisoft's FY2024-2025 ended on March 31st, 2025, that means the new game will have to go on sale before March 31st, 2026. But that also means it could arrive any time now. We're already two months into FY2025-2026. I'd be surprised if we didn't get an announcement at the Summer Game Fest next month. Ubisoft suggests that its top games in FY2025-2026 will be Assassin's Creed Shadows and Siege X, but names Prince of Persia as one of the games that'll contribute alongside Anno 117: Pax Romana, Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence. I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to try it, as the original is one of my top five favorite games of all time. I loved its storytelling, voice acting, incredible music, and its then-groundbreaking ability to rewind time. But I won't deny I'm a bit worried. Both Yuri Lowenthal — the Prince's iconic English-language voice actor — and Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner were attached to the remake when it was announced in 2020. (Lowenthal once suggested the remake was going to 'keep all of Jordan Mechner's brilliant writing' and thanked Ubisoft for not picking a 'younger, hotter actor' instead of him.) But after development moved to Ubisoft Montréal in 2022, it's not clear whether either is still involved. Here's hoping there was good reason to overhaul the game, unlike that other time a game company replaced Yuri Lowenthal's face!

How Much Will Grand Theft Auto 6 Cost?
Grand Theft Auto 6 was set to be the biggest game of 2025, until it got delayed to 2026. There is some speculation about what caused the delay, with the most likely reason being that the game simply isn't finished yet. On Tuesday, publisher Rockstar Games dropped a ton of info about the game, from the characters to the settings, leaving two big questions about GTA 6: What's the gameplay look like, and how much will it cost? The first one will understandably be revealed closer to the game's release and will likely resemble the GTA formula we've seen for the past several games. The second question, however, is a big unknown and could change right up until the game's release. GTA 6's price has been a topic of debate since it was officially announced back in 2022. Why? Because a new GTA game is guaranteed to sell millions of copies within a matter of days, and the budget for a GTA game is likely to be higher than any other game in history. It's for that reason that GTA 6 could be the most expensive game to date, but by how much? To start, it is now very unlikely that GTA 6 will cost $70, which is the typical price for AAA games. Industry analysts always suspected the new GTA game would be the first game to make the jump to $80, and it would make sense considering the rumored budget for the game. GTA 6 could have a budget ranging between $1-$2 billion, according to a report from Insider Gaming. This would make GTA 6 the most expensive game to ever be made. Development of the game likely started after the release of GTA 5 in 2013 and was ramped up following the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. A game that has been in development as long as GTA 6, likely including a new GTA Online and backed by a big budget for voice acting and music licensing, would cost a lot of money to warrant an $80 price. However, it was Nintendo who made that first move to bump up the cost of video games with the upcoming Mario Kart World for the Nintendo Switch 2. The latest kart-racing game will retail for $80, with Nintendo not yet providing a reason why. Still, Wedbush Securities Analyst Michael Pachter thinks $80 is the new $70 for video games, and he says GTA 6 could go even higher. "I suspect they will charge $100, and give people $100 of in-game currency in GTA Online," Pachter said. "Realistically, they can offer ONLY a collector's edition for the first year and can charge whatever they wish. It's highly likely that they will require a GTA Online account to play GTA 6, and that the two experiences will be integrated, so giving each of the first 35 [to] 50 million players $100 of currency will drive a ton of engagement in GTA Online and should grow that game's revenues over time." GTA Online has been a big moneymaker for Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive. Even though GTA 5 was released in 2013 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, it has since been ported to newer consoles and to PC. As of 2024, it had sold more than 200 million copies across all platforms, making Take-Two more than $8 billion. Rockstar could fool everyone and keep GTA 6 at $70 and sell millions within days. Back in 2013, GTA 5 made more than $1 billion in just the first three days. However, the most likely price tag for GTA 6 will be at least $80 by itself or $100 with some digital freebies that would carry a label of being some sort of special edition. Rockstar Games didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the pricing of the game.
