Linkin Park Returns To No. 1 In America With Its First Smash

Linkin Park's 'In the End' returns to No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, marking ... More its eighth nonconsecutive week at the top. TOKYO - JULY 07: Chester Bennington of Linkin Park performs on stage at the Tokyo leg of the Live Earth series of concerts, at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on July 7, 2007 in Tokyo, Japan. Launched by former US Vice President Al Gore to combat Global Warming, the concert is one of a series taking place over a 24-hour period on July 7 across seven continents. (Photo by) Just a few weeks ago, Linkin Park re-released its album From Zero, turning it into a deluxe edition with several new tunes. The following week, that set bolted up a number of Billboard charts, but it didn't take long for its popularity to dwindle once more. A handful of tracks taken from the expanded set are still present on tallies in the United States, even as the full-length all but disappears. Even with new music now available, some of the hard rock group's earliest smashes are proving to be unbeatable — and the one that started it all for the outfit reigns supreme once more. "In the End" bolts from No. 5 to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart in America this week, officially becoming the most-streamed hard rock track in the nation once again. With another stint at No. 1 to its credit, "In the End" has now led the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart for eight nonconsecutive weeks. It first reached the peak position in October of last year, having originally arrived in June 2020. Both "In the End" and "Numb" landed on the ranking at the same time, and the two have now spent just over five years on this chart. "In the End" has spent more time at No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally than the group's other two champions combined. "The Emptiness Machine" – the lead single taken from 2024's From Zero – managed five frames leading the charge, while "Lost" earned the band its first leader in February 2023, holding for just one frame. "In the End" is becoming hugely successful again across several of Billboard's genre-specific rosters. In addition to jumping to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, the track also reenters the Alternative Streaming Songs list at No. 24, after what must be a noticeable uptick in plays on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, iHeartRadio, and many others. The track also manages to climb on both of Billboard's worldwide lists, lifting just a few spots on the two rosters. Five tunes by Linkin Park appear on at least one Billboard chart apiece this week. "Up From the Bottom," one of the major focuses from the From Zero deluxe edition, finds a home on half a dozen tallies. While it continues to rule a trio of airplay lists, it is largely falling when it comes to other forms of consumption.

Ye Says He Misses Pusha T's ‘Friendship' After Being Name-Dropped in New Clipse Song

Ye (formerly Kanye West) misses the G.O.O.D. times. Yeezy took to X on Friday (May 30), extending an olive branch to his former right-hand collaborator, Pusha T, after King Push name-dropped West on the new Clipse single. More from Billboard A Look at All the Rappers Ye Has Beefed With Linkin Park Perform 'In the End', 'Numb' at UEFA Final in Munich Duran Duran Reunite With Nile Rodgers at Abbey Road Studios 'I miss me and Pusha's friendship,' Ye wrote of his ex-G.O.O.D. Music president. West seemed to get wind of Pusha's jab at him on the Pharrell-produced 'Ace Trumpets,' which is the lead single from Clipse's Let God Sort Em Out album. 'Sold ecstasy and disappeared, I am Whodini/ Look at them, him and him, still waitin' on Yeezy/ I hope you got your squeegees/ At your interviews, I just ki-ki,' the Virginia native raps. Pusha T stood in West's corner for years before reaching his breaking point and distanced himself from G.O.O.D. Music and Ye in 2022 after a series of controversial statements surrounding antisemitism and political affiliations from West were too much to bear. '[It's] nothing to tap dance around. It's wrong. Period,' Push told XXL in 2022. 'But to me, it's just me and him having a difference of opinion yet again.' He continued: 'If you ain't with it, you ain't down. And I ain't with it. I'm not budging on that. I'm not with it. I heard about this new [Infowars] stuff. I don't know. It's something that just sort of tells me he's not well, at the same time. I will say that. It's going to places where it's no way to move around it.' Pusha T joined the G.O.O.D. Music family in 2010 and remained with the label through his 2022 album It's Almost Dry. Ye produced the entirety of his 2018 Daytona album, which was nominated for a Grammy Award. West also helmed half the production of It's Almost Dry, while Pharrell held down the other half. It remains to be seen if Ye and Push can make amends in the coming months. Clipse's Let God Sort Em Out album drops on July 11. Listen to 'Ace Trumpets' below. 50 Cent Says He's Going to ‘Make Sure' Trump's Aware of ‘Really Bad' Things Diddy Said About President

50 Cent is making his feelings about Sean 'Diddy' Combs known to Donald Trump after the president relayed that he'd 'look at the facts' of the embattled music mogul's sex trafficking case regarding a potential pardon. '[Diddy] said some really bad things about Trump, it's not ok. I'm gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy,' 50 Cent wrote in a since-deleted May 30 post to Instagram captured by Rolling Stone. 'Donald doesn't take well to disrespect, and doesn't forget who chooses to go against him. While working tirelessly to make America great again there is no room for distraction. He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated not Puffy Daddy.' More from Billboard President Trump Says He'd 'Look at the Facts' When Considering Potential Diddy Pardon Linkin Park Perform 'In the End', 'Numb' at UEFA Final in Munich Duran Duran Reunite With Nile Rodgers at Abbey Road Studios 50's sentiments made headlines, and he responded to The Daily Beast's article with another post to IG on Sunday (June 1). 'I didn't say I would Nuke anything, I simply said I will make sure Trump is aware,' he clarified. Fans had plenty to say about 50 being relentless in keeping his beef with Diddy alive. 'Your biggest mistake in life is making 50 your opp,' one person wrote in his comment section. Billboard has reached out to Diddy's team for comment. On Friday, Trump was asked about potentially pardoning Diddy if the mogul ends up getting convicted in his case, which he's currently on trial for. The president detailed how he and Diddy used to be friendly, but that changed since entering the political realm. 'I haven't spoken to him in years,' Trump said. 'He used to really like me a lot. I think when I ran for politics, that relationship busted up. … I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don't like me, it wouldn't have any impact on me.' 50 hasn't taken his foot off the gas when it comes to continuously trolling Diddy, who remains behind bars during his trial. The Queens icon even posted what appeared to be himself rocking an AI-generated 'Free Diddy' T-shirt while at an NBA game between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers last week. Diddy is facing charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. His trial is expected to last into July, and Combs could be sentenced to life in prison if found guilty on all of Billboard Chart Rewind: In 1989, New Kids on the Block Were 'Hangin' Tough' at No. 1 Janet Jackson's Biggest Billboard Hot 100 Hits H.E.R. & Chris Brown 'Come Through' to No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay Chart

Linkin Park Perform ‘In the End', ‘Numb' at UEFA Final in Munich

Linkin Park delivered a four-song set ahead of the UEFA Champions League final in Munich on Saturday night (June 1), continuing their return to the live stage with performances of 'The Emptiness Machine,' 'In the End,' 'Numb,' and 'Heavy Is the Crown.' Taking the stage at Munich Football Arena just before kickoff between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, the band's appearance served as a high-profile preview of their upcoming world tour, which supports their latest album, From Zero, released last year. Armstrong's debut sparked conversation online, including public commentary from the late Chester Bennington's family and discussion around her past professional affiliations. From Zero is Linkin Park's first studio album since 2017's One More Light, released just months before Bennington's death. At the band's first show with their new lineup last year, co-founder Mike Shinoda addressed the crowd, saying, 'We are thrilled to be back out here. It is not about erasing the past. It is about starting this new chapter into the future and coming out here for each and every one of you.' Shinoda expanded on that sentiment during a guest appearance on The Tonight Show, explaining, 'I think the important thing for us is that we never set out to, like, 'Let's bring the band back' or 'Let's find a singer.' That was never our intention or our goal.' The album debuted at No. 1 on all of the above charts last November, except for the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales, where it arrived at No. 2. Following its deluxe reissue with additional tracks on May 16, From Zero recently returned to Top Album Sales (at No. 5), Top Hard Rock Albums (No. 4), Vinyl Albums (No. 8), Top Alternative Albums (No. 9), Top Rock Albums (No. 15), Top Rock & Alternative Albums (No. 17), Indie Store Album Sales (No. 17) and the Billboard 200 (No. 71) charts dated May 31. The North American leg of Linkin Park's upcoming tour is set to kick off July 29 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. The run will include stops across the U.S. through August and September, including a major date at Dodger Stadium with Queens of the Stone Age, before it wraps Sept. 24 in Seattle. Rod Stewart Postpones Las Vegas Colosseum Residency Gig Due to Unspecified Illness

Sir Rod Stewart called off his planned residency show at the Colosseum in Las Vegas on Sunday night (June 1) just hours before set time due to an unspecified illness. The 80-year-old singer pulled out of the show around 6 p.m. local time, with less than four hours to go, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The singer shared the news with fans in an Instagram story, writing, 'I am sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10.' Stewart said the tickets for Sunday's show will be valid for the new date. In a note posted around the same time, the Colosseum said, 'We are sorry to inform that due to illness, Sir Rod Stewart's show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10.' He is next slated to take the stage in Las Vegas on Thursday (June 5), followed by shows on the 7th and 8th. After that, the 'Hot Legs' star is slated to hit the road for a summer tour that will include amphitheater shows in California and Nevada before jumping over to his native England for a Legends slot performance on the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival on June 29. Stewart recently announced that he will be joined by Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood at Glasto, where they will reunite their 1960s'70s band Faces. After returning to North America in July, Stewart will criss-cross the U.S. and Canada before resuming the residency on Sept. 24.
