HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Chairs Tamkeen's Q2 Board Meeting His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), chaired Tamkeen's second quarterly Board of Directors Meeting for 2025. The meeting reviewed Tamkeen's achievements during the first half of the year and outlined strategic priorities for the remainder of 2025. Updates were also shared on the progress of Tamkeen's core support pillars: Employment Support, Career Development Support, and Enterprise Support. Empowering Bahrainis for a Future-Ready Workforce HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman emphasized the importance of continued investment in Bahraini talent to build a skilled and competitive national workforce. He reaffirmed the commitment to create more opportunities for Bahrainis to develop their skills and thrive in various sectors, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He stressed the need for targeted initiatives that position Bahrainis as the top choice in the labour market, with a strong focus on preparing them for future jobs, particularly in fields requiring technical expertise and artificial intelligence. Support for SMEs and Technological Transformation In line with national efforts to promote innovation and competitiveness, HH Shaikh Isa issued directives to launch new programmes that enable Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to adopt advanced technologies, drive business growth, and enhance productivity. These directives complement an earlier initiative to train 50,000 Bahrainis in artificial intelligence, announced during the previous board meeting, as part of a broader digital transformation strategy. Over 7,700 Bahrainis Supported in the First Half of 2025 Tamkeen Chief Executive Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez presented a comprehensive report on the fund's progress in the first half of the year. Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the launch ceremony of the annual Toastmasters Conference for Sector 20, 'DTAC 2025,' held yesterday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Bahrain. The conference, themed 'Echoes of Excellence,' is being organised in collaboration with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Iraq. It represents a significant regional effort to foster leadership and public speaking skills among youth in both Arabic and English. The event commenced with the playing of the national anthem, followed by a short film highlighting the growth and impact of the Toastmasters movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In his remarks, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah affirmed that hosting DTAC 2025 reflects Bahrain's ongoing commitment to nurturing young leaders. AB bahrain Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Labour Fund, the Kingdom of Bahrain officially inaugurated the District 20 Annual Toastmasters Conference (DTAC 2025) on Thursday evening. The ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manama, was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa. DTAC 2025, organized under the theme 'Echoes of Excellence,' is a collaborative initiative between Toastmasters organizations from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Iraq. The event, which runs from May 22 to 24, brings together more than 2,000 participants from 115 Toastmasters clubs across the region, covering both Arabic and English-speaking communities. The opening ceremony began with the Bahraini National Anthem and a short film celebrating the history and growth of the Toastmasters movement in Bahrain. In his address, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa underscored the importance of hosting such a prestigious event in the Kingdom. He noted that DTAC 2025 would feature internationally recognized speakers and champions, offering diverse and inclusive learning opportunities for attendees. Echoing this message, Toastmaster Yasser Al-Qashar, Director of Sector 20, emphasized the vital role that such conferences play in empowering the region's youth. He pointed to the Kingdom's longstanding support for initiatives that cultivate creativity, innovation, and leadership among young people. During the event, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa honored the partners, supporters, and organizing committee members of the conference. These initiatives are in line with the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities and reflect Tamkeen's commitment to ensuring Bahrainis are the preferred choice of employment in the labor market. Under these new measures, Tamkeen will provide an additional 10% wage support per year during the support period for People of Determination employed in the private sector as part of the National Employment Program. This initiative is also aligned with one of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, which focuses on ensuring access to healthy lives and well-being for all, including People of Determination, further reflecting the Kingdom of Bahrain's ongoing commitment to achieving SDGs through various programs and initiatives.
