Hum dono ke liye Raksha Bandhan pura saal hota hai: Ishani & Hardik Dave

Ishani & Hardik Dave Raksha Bandhan goes beyond this day for us,' say popular garba and folk singers Ishani and Hardik Dave, children of veteran Gujarati folk singer Praful Dave. They share, 'The only difference when it comes to the evolution of our bond is that during childhood, we used to do dhamaal together at home. Now, we do dhamaal on stage.' Ishani says, 'Although we try to spend Raksha Bandhan together, our schedules hardly align due to our concerts, shows and shoots. But whenever we are together, it is a celebration for us. Sometimes, we celebrate Raksha Bandhan in advance too.' Hardik adds, 'Our love for each other goes beyond one day. Humare liye Raksha Bandhan pura saal hi hota hai.' In a conversation, the Dave siblings talk about their childhood memories, work dynamics and online banter. 'Our gifting game has been unique since childhood' Asked about his fondest childhood memory, Hardik shares, 'We were very young, and Ishani wanted a puppy on Raksha Bandhan. I remember running around our colony in Bhavnagar and exploring small lanes. I gifted her a puppy so that she could play with him for some time. She kept him on her lap, and I was so happy to see her. Today, while gifting each other, we give it a lot of thought. Bachpan mein toh chhoti chhoti cheezon mein bhi we used to get ecstatic. During childhood, she would indulge in ratting, like talking about me missing school in front of our father (laughs). However, I feel very blessed and fortunate to have a younger sister like her, who makes my life better.' Ishani adds, 'Our gifting game has been unique since childhood. Years back, when I was studying in Chennai and we couldn't celebrate Rakshabandhan together, I gifted the first cut of Khamma Veera Ne, a song I made for him. We later sang it together, but the first raw copy was sent to him as a gift. Since Hardik earns well now, I expect a bigger gift from him (laughs)! Hardik has offered amazing support over the years, which included standing up against the world and even parents sometimes when there were discussions about my life and career. With a protective brother like him, I feel I am always on the winning side. 'We guide each other on how to improve as artistes' Talking about their work dynamics, Ishani says, 'Both of us have been singing for a long time, and have done shows, but separately. There are certain areas where both of us lag, and with our experiences and strengths, we often guide each other on how we can try and improve that. Hardik is a brilliant music arranger, so I seek his advice for my shows.' Hardik agrees, 'Our styles are very different, so there is always a different approach towards music, which helps in bringing a new perspective. Also, we often joke that I have always taught Ishani what to do on stage, and she has always taught me what not to do on stage (laughs).' 'Our online banter is just a reflection of our bond in real life' Ishani and Hardik often indulge in online banter by tagging each other in memes and joking about each other. Ishani laughs, 'We are real on social media, and our banters are just a reflection of our bond in real life. This is how we have been entertaining each other.' Hardik agrees, 'It all started with some jokes I made on Ishani, which she replied to. And they are not even jokes, it all comes from our real-life situations, especially Ishani's, that are funny. Now, I get messages from people saying that they are waiting for more of such fun.'

Megha Chakraborty on her role as Ishani; says 'I cried so much that my eyes got swollen'

Television's newest offering Ishani brings to screen a heartfelt story of a woman burdened by expectations, torn between her dreams and duties. The show follows the journey of Ishani, a young woman navigating through emotional struggles, complex relationships, and unspoken sacrifices. With its rooted storytelling and powerful performances, Ishani has already started making an impact with its raw portrayal of a woman's silent battles. Megha Chakraborty, who plays the titular role of Ishani, opens up about how closely she connects with the early phase of Ishani's journey. 'The earlier life of Ishani I think I can relate to, because she is very ambitious and fearless. She wasn't afraid of anyone. She fought for her truth. She always kept her point of view, and there were many things about her that I could connect with. But I definitely cannot relate to her married life, because she is facing a lot of problems. ' Speaking about one of the most demanding scenes she shot, Megha recalls, 'There was a scene with Anurag, a nine-page-long scene and it was extremely emotional. It was the first time Anurag confronted me, explaining why he left me, and the misunderstandings between us. I accused him, but then came a moment where he made me feel helpless. It was beautifully written, and I cried so much that my eyes got swollen. It was one of the most emotional scenes I've ever done. ' Megha also shared heartfelt advice for her character: 'Ishani is full of responsibilities of the house, her husband but never for herself. I think she should start thinking about herself. Just like many women, she needs to realize we get only one life. Responsibilities matter, but so does self-care.' The show Ishani presents a compelling tale of a woman caught between what society expects of her and what her heart truly desires. The promos hint at emotional confrontations, suppressed dreams, and the silent strength that keeps Ishani going. Imlie's Megha Chakraborty: My first TV show was a Bengali daily soap

Exclusive: Sneha Bhawsar on Ishani's new time and playing an antagonist; says ‘People love to hate Ankita and that's the biggest compliment I can get'

Ishani, the spin-off of the popular show Jhanak, premiered on July 3 and has already carved its own space on television. Actress Sneha Bhawsar, who plays the manipulative and complex Ankita, is thrilled with how far the show—and her character—have come. Speaking to Times of India TV, she shared her excitement, fan reactions, and what it means to play such a layered role in a prime-time slot. Reflecting on the show's evolving journey, Sneha said, 'Who would've thought… from being part of a show, to a spin-off airing at 11 PM (yes, the 'sab so rahe hote hai' slot), to now becoming our very own show at 7:30 PM with a fresh storyline and identity — it's been a rollercoaster! The love you've shown for Ishani has been unreal, and honestly, that's what kept us going. This journey is just getting started… Stay with us, kyunki abhi toh bas shuruaat hui hai — picture abhi baaki hai!' On audience feedback, Sneha gleefully shared, 'Oh, people love to hate Ankita—and honestly, that's the biggest compliment I can get as an actor! The hate is pouring in—and I'm loving every bit of it! People are genuinely furious at Ankita, and that tells me I'm doing my job just right. That fine line between annoyance and fascination? That's where Ankita lives… rent-free in people's heads.' Looking ahead, fans can expect drama at its best. 'Ankita and Yash's wedding is coming up—it's going to be beautiful, dramatic, and full of unexpected moments,' Sneha teased. Speaking about the prime-time shift, she added, 'Playing Ankita in a prime-time slot is a dream. Most people expect female characters to be likable or redeemable—but Ankita isn't either, and I love that. This slot ensures more people witness her manipulations unfold in real time. That challenge? I live for it.' With intensity, mystery, and emotional depth, Ishani and Sneha's Ankita are clearly here to stay—and stir things up.

Aasiya Kazi returns to TV after two years with Ishani

Aasiya Kazi Aasiya Kazi, who was last seen in Janam Janam Ka Saath, is all set to return to television after a two-year hiatus. She has been cast to play the role of Nandini in Ishani, a spin-off series of Jhanak. The show features Megha Chakraborty in the title role, while Karamm S Rajpal has joined as the male lead. A source associated with the show shared, 'Aasiya will portray Nandini, a pivotal character who will play a significant role in shaping the lives of the entire family. Her entry will bring a major twist to the storyline. The character has multiple shades and is different from the kind of roles Aasiya has played in the past. It's a long-running character that will be responsible for driving several interesting plot developments. Her entry is scheduled to air in tonight's episode.' Aasiya could not be reached for comment. The actress was on a break from work to enjoy her marital life. She tied the knot with actor Gulshan Nain in November last year in an intimate ceremony after being in a relationship for eight years. Aasiya has consciously stayed away from television during this period. There were mainly two reasons behind this decision — one, she was looking for roles that were different and substantial, and two, she wanted to devote time to her new phase in life and cherish the early days of marriage with her family. Ishani marks her first acting project post-marriage. Known for being selective about the roles she takes up, Aasiya became a household name with her portrayal of Santu in Bandini (2009–2011). Over the years, she has been a part of several popular shows, including Matti Ki Banno, Dharampatni, Hitler Didi, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha 2, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Balika Vadhu, and Tenali Rama.
