Sacha Baron Cohen, 53, admits to using Ozempic to help him achieve his revenge body for new Marvel role

Sacha Baron Cohen claimed he used Ozempic to help him achieve his ripped physique. The actor, 53, who is starring as Marvel's newest supervillain Mephisto, underwent an incredible body transformation for his role, which he revealed this week. As he showed off his chiselled abs in the new issue of Men's Fitness UK, Sacha, who split with Isla Fisher in 2023, after more than two decades together, re-shared the photoshoot to his Instagram Story and got candid about how he achieved his results. He wrote: 'Some celebs use Ozempic, some use private chefs, some use personal trainers. I did all three.' Sacha's representatives later insisted to MailOnline that the Borat star was 'only joking' and his new buff physique 'all down to hard work'. In a second post, Sacha added: 'This is not AI. I really am egotistical enough to do this. Debuting my new character. Middle aged man who replaced beer with protein shakes.' Sacha then thanked his personal trainer, writing: 'Thanks @theangrytrainer for doing the unthinkable - putting up with me for 25 minutes a day.' He revealed he had just three weeks to get into superhero shape, putting in the 'hard work' ready to portray Mephisto, a devil-like figure who makes Faustian bargains. Speaking to Men's Fitness UK, the actor revealed he turned to Matthew McConaughey to get the phone number of celebrity trainer Alfonso Moretti, who has well-established reputation for transforming physiques on impossible deadlines. Sacha went on to have a FaceTime meeting with Alfonso, who got him to strip down to his underwear during their first chat. Due to the short time frame and Alfonso workout methods, Sacha was tasked with being 'consistent' by doing '100 push ups a day'. Sacha's incredible transformation was far from marathon workouts and extreme dieting, as they concentrated on short workouts and a diet high in fibre and protein as well as low in sugar. He said: '25-minute workouts that were sustainable. Even while filming, the workouts happened. In the past, I would've thought you needed hour-long sessions'. He admitted at the beginning of the regime he 'had the core strength of an arthritic jellyfish... but the short sessions made it so much easier to stay consistent - even with the demands of being on set.' By the two-week mark, Sacha's wardrobe team had to spend $5,000 (£3,600) altering costumes because his body had changed so significantly. He was leaner, stronger, and fitter than ever before. His trainer also shared the magazine's photos to Instagram and wrote that he 'could not be more proud' of Sacha after working out with him. In a recent press conference, Marvel chief Kevin Feige confirmed that Sacha will be portraying MCU character. Sacha first rose to fame in the 1990s with his Ali G character, the infamous spoof wannabe gangster who became a comedy star. He also starred as Borat, a journalist from Kazakhstan, and played the role of flamboyant Austrian fashionista Bruno. The actor made his Mephisto debut in the finale of miniseries Ironheart earlier this month, marking the first appearance of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after years of speculation. One of Marvel's key villains, Mephisto is a demonic entity who acquires souls by making pacts with mortals and has battled the likes of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.

Isla Fisher Shares Shady Post About Marriage After Her Divorce From Sacha Baron Cohen Was Finalized

Isla Fisher took to her Instagram Stories to make a brutal dig at the necessity of marriage. 'For all the men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?' Here's an update for you,' a quote shared to the actress' Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 15, read. 'Nowadays, 80% of women are against marriage,' the post continued. 'Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage.' The social media post comes more than one month after Fisher, 49, and ex-husband Sacha Baron Cohen, 53, announced that their divorce had been finalized. 'We are proud of all we've achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to coparenting our wonderful children,' the exes wrote in a joint statement shared via Instagram Stories on June 13. The Borat actor and the Wedding Crashers actress met in 2001 and tied the knot in 2010. Throughout their more than 20-year relationship, they welcomed three children together, daughters Olive and Elula, and their son, Montgomery. They announced their separation in April 2024. Fisher called the split 'the most difficult thing' she'd ever been through in an interview with Sunday Times, but noted that it's caused her to discover 'so much' about herself. 'I never imagined my family being separated,' she added, 'but we are committed and loving parents.' Fisher also praised the women in her life who were there for her in challenging moments. 'I'm sitting here today because of them,' she explained. 'I've learned so much about the power of female friendship and I've just learned that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are. It's been this expansive learning curve.' Since their split, Fisher has reportedly been 'letting her hair down' and 'hitting the party scene,' according to In Touch. 'It's the first summer she's felt truly carefree and happy in longer than anyone can remember,' a source revealed. 'She'd never call it a divorce party, but that's pretty much what it is and everyone's happy to see her finally enjoying herself again.' 'The consensus among her inner circle is that this is healthy for her and exactly what she needs after so many years of stress with Sacha,' the source added. 'Isla tried so hard, for so long, to be the perfect wife and really put all her needs to the side to make him happy.' Solve the daily Crossword

Sacha Baron Cohen isn't afraid to show off his ripped physique! The Borat star, 53, took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday, July 23, to share photos from his Men's Fitness UK shoot. 'This is not AI, I really am egotistical enough to do this,' he captioned one of the snapshots. Another picture revealed Cohen's defined back muscles as he did pull-ups in a gym. They couple got married in 2010 and share daughters Olive, 17, and Elula, 14, and son Montgomery, 9. 'We are proud of all we've achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to coparenting our wonderful children,' he and Fisher wrote in a joint statement on June 13. Earlier this year, Fisher, 49, told the Sunday Times her divorce was 'the most difficult thing' that she'd been through. 'I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents,' she added at the time. The Wedding Crashers actress also emphasized that their children are the 'most important thing' as they navigate this new normal. 'You want them to really feel safe and loved,' she explained. 'We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.' While the former couple is committed to maintaining a healthy coparenting relationship, Fisher didn't mind taking to Instagram to make a playful dig at marriage in general earlier this month. 'For all the men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?' Here's an update for you,' a quote shared to her Instagram Story read. See Sacha Baron Cohen's shredded physique as actor transforms into Marvel's Mephisto: 'This is not AI'

"Hard launching my mid-life crisis," Cohen joked of his post-divorce bod. Sacha Baron Cohen has gone through some changes and he's ready to share the results with the world. Ahead of his buzzy role as Marvel's newest supervillain, Mephisto, the 52-year-old actor has undergone a dramatic transformation. Debuting his new muscles on the cover of Men's Fitness U.K., Baron Cohen proves that he is taking his menacing new job very seriously. "This is not AI," Cohen wrote on Instagram Stories, alongside a photo of the cover. "I really am egotistical enough to do this." Coming a long way from his days as the slim and hairy Borat, Cohen's routine involved consistent training and a high fiber and protein diet… among other things. In a subsequent post, Cohen wrote, "Some celebs use Ozempic, some use private chefs, others use personal trainers. I did all three." Cohen even alluded to the fact that he finalized his divorce from longtime partner Isla Fisher back in June, captioning another buff photo, "Hard launching my mid-life crisis." The actor went on to thank personal trainer Alfonso "The Angry Trainer" Moretti "for doing the unthinkable — putting up with me for 25 mins a day." Over on his own Instagram page, Moretti shared several photos of the now-ripped Cohen, writing that he "could not be more proud" of the actor's work with him. Meanwhile, Cohen doubled down on his newfound dedication to physical fitness for the magazine's cover story. "I now believe that just 20 to 30 minutes of movement a day can make a real difference," he told the outlet. "And it's something anyone can fit into their routine, especially celebrities with personal assistants to do all the boring stuff like shopping and attending friends' funerals."Baron Cohen made his Mephisto debut in the season finale of Ironheart, marking the first appearance of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after years of speculation from fans. Ironheart creator Chinaka Hodge told Entertainment Weekly that the appearance of the devilish comic book character was not hers alone. "I was empowered by Marvel to make that decision," she said. "I don't know what will happen next with the character or with Sacha in the MCU. But as a fan, I'm really hoping to see him make lots of appearances." Created by Stan Lee and John Buscema in 1968, Mephisto is a magic-manipulating demonic entity who acquires souls by making pacts with mortals. He's been a major villain throughout the Marvel comics universe, often battling heroes like Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. Viewers have been speculating about his MCU debut ever since WandaVision but despite the many, many theories, MCU boss Kevin Feige insists Mephisto's introduction was always going to come much later in the game. "He was never part of WandaVision. We've talked about that," Feige told CBR during a recent roundtable. "But the enthusiasm with which he was theorized on that certainly was cool, and was fun to watch." He continued, "He's another character that, pre-MCU, it would have been, 'How do you [do Mephisto]? He's the devil, how do you do that character?' But he's a formative character! He was a big part of Thanos's storyline in the comics. So again, now that he's here, the potential is- the plan is clear, theoretically, to use more of him." Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly Solve the daily Crossword

Irresponsible Isla Fisher is in cloud-cuckoo land thinking women don't need marriage – here's why we MUST tie the knot

ISLA Fisher is in cloud-cuckoo land when she tells women not to bother with marriage. In the wake of finalising her divorce from the comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, she re-posted this on Instagram: For all the men who say, 'why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?' 5 Isla Fisher has finalised her divorce from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen Credit: Getty 5 Isla is in cloud-cuckoo land when she tells women not to bother with marriage, says Emma Wolf Credit: Getty Here's an update for you: 'Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realise it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a She's funny, I'll give her that. Fisher's post was branded 'savage' but telling women not to bother getting married is also reckless, irresponsible and out of touch. For the majority of women with children, marriage is a safety net and an essential aspect of financial security for them and their kid's future . Whether her sausage-and-pig quip was a light-hearted joke or a savage dig at her ex-husband's manhood (as some have suggested) who knows. Last week when both Fisher and The former Home and Away actress is now a movie star in her own right, and for the past 14 years has been married to the millionaire Borat actor and comedian. With or without Baron Cohen, 53, the 49-year-old is financially independent – and will no doubt be even wealthier after the multi-million-dollar divorce settlement. But for most women the breakdown of a relationship looks a lot less rosy. In fact, many remain in unhappy marriages because of the financial upheaval of breaking up a family and the uncertainty of the future. All The signs Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher had secretly split from girls' nights out to hiding ring finger Even pursuing child maintenance after divorce can be stressful, with ex-partners not bothering to make payments to support their children. If you're not married the situation is even bleaker. One of my closest friends has three children under ten with her long-term partner. Like Isla and Sacha, they had been together 14 years and she now finds herself single. After years of suspected infidelity, he recently moved out and has set up home with his new, younger girlfriend. My friend had always wanted to get married, both from a commitment perspective and for financial security, but he wasn't keen. They bought a house together, lived together, had three children together, but never made it legal. 'Now I'm left high and dry,' she tells me. 'The emotional fallout has been horrendous, but I hadn't realised I'd struggle financially like this. He works, I work – I thought having a double income would help. But I'm bringing up the children and he doesn't contribute a penny. I guess if we were married, I'd have more rights.' She's certainly right there. Both during the marriage and if fate so has it, after divorce, married individuals have better financial security. They are entitled to marriage allowance during the relationship and all sorts of other tax benefits such as avoiding capital gains tax. The childcare costs when you're a working single mother are astronomical Should the marriage end, assets are divided fairly, one half may have a claim to a share of the other's pension, and if one half earns significantly less than the other then he or she could receive spousal maintenance. I'm a single mother and have brought my 4-year-old son up alone since his birth. We've never had a penny in financial support and that's harder than it sounds. Every mortgage instalment, every council tax, water, gas and electricity bill, the Christmas presents, the swimming lessons or football lessons, every aspect of parenting is on my back. 5 With or without Baron Cohen, Isla is financially independent – but for most women the breakdown of a relationship looks less rosy Credit: Getty 5 Her post-divorce settlement with Borat actor Baron Cohen was worth a rumoured $75 million dollars Credit: Getty Tone-deaf The childcare costs when you're a working single mother are astronomical. If you get sick, you can't afford to take time off, because you're the bread-winner. You don't go for drinks out or dinners or date nights because the focus is on making a living and spending time with your child, and anyway getting a babysitter is a luxury! It's my choice. My son's father has never been in our lives. We are a happy (if small) family of two, and the bond I have with my child is incredibly close. But the responsibility is exhausting – knowing that when your child grows up and needs an allowance, or wants to go to the cinema with friends, or when they get to university, the finances will still be all on you. That's why Isla Fisher's cheeky 'don't bother with marriage ladies' strikes me as tone-deaf and irresponsible. Until recently, getting married was very much about security for women. You couldn't risk getting pregnant out of wedlock, you needed the security of your husband's roof and income, and you didn't want the public shame of being an unmarried mother. In fact, until the end of the 19th century, a woman and everything she owned was basically her husband's property. It was only the landmark legislation in 1882 (the Married Women's Property Act) that gave women the right to own, acquire and dispose of their own property. Until recently, getting married was very much about security for women Everything has changed in the past few decades. We've had women's lib, We have far more freedom to forge a career, earn a living and make our own life choices. Unsurprisingly, marriage rates have been in decline. All the signs Isla and Sacha had secretly split The couple have revealed they actually split last year, despite only just revealing their divorce. Here we look at the Social media silence - Sacha has been absent from Instagram since last Christmas. Spending time with friends - Isla has been been following that classic post break-up move of spending more time with her girlfriends. Hidden ring finger - No fans noticed at the time, but in many Instagram shots from this year, Isla has hidden her right hand so her wedding finger was not visible in many shots. Missing man - The last image Isla shared of her and Sacha prior to the divorce announcement was back in November last year. 'Think about words' In the 1970s, approximately 7 in 10 people over the age of 16 were married, and by 2024 this figure had fallen to around 4 in 10. It's predicted that marriage rates will continue to drop, with only around 3 in 10 people married by 2050. When my friend says she regrets not getting married - she's absolutely right. Although it's a more level playing field than in previous decades, when an unmarried couple separates they don't have the same legal rights to financial support and property division as married couples or those in civil partnerships. The general rule is that each person keeps their own assets, and joint assets are divided, based on ownership and contribution. Some unmarried couples draw up cohabitation agreements, but many do not – they drift into years of living together, raising a family, buying property, and then end up in terrible conflict and financial strife when their relationship ends. The Fisher/Baron Cohen post-divorce settlement was worth a rumoured $75 million dollars but one thing's for sure: they're not short of a few quid. They won't need to argue about who moves out of the family home and who rents nearby – because they own multiple properties and have been living between I know countless women who end up renting or sofa surfing with friends or family after divorce. This celeb couple won't be quibbling about who covers the mortgage or the food bills , who buys the children's new shoes or the school uniforms. Life after divorce clearly suits Isla, she's looking radiant and has her mojo back. She and Baron Cohen are amicably co-parenting, declaring 'we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children'. Whatever ended their marriage, the wounds are healing and Isla is clearly excited about her post-divorce freedom. Nonetheless, she might want to think about her words. Forget 'buying the cow or getting the milk for free' - for us everyday women, the break-up is when the hard work really begins…and sadly, if we haven't bought the pig, we're not entitled to so much as a slice of bacon. 5 Isla's cheeky 'don't bother with marriage ladies' strikes me as tone-deaf and irresponsible, says Emma Credit: Sarah Brick - Commissioned by The Sun
