This is the most elegant style trend for the summer– and you can shop it from £20

Pleats are the season's chicest trend, and we've found where to shop stylish buys from Karen Millen, Monsoon, and more starting from £20 There's a style trend that's taking over this summer, and it's as elegant as it is timeless: pleats. Once reserved for occasionwear, tennis skorts, or school uniforms, pleats have had a major fashion glow-up, thanks to designers like Issey Miyake, who famously turned the technique into a sculptural art form with his Pleats Please collection. This season, pleats are everywhere, from floaty midi skirts to structured trousers and even breezy summer dresses. They're a chic, easy-to-wear trend that looks good with just about everything and is so comfy. They look just as cool styled with sandals and a white t-shirt as they do dressed up with heels for a party. And the best part? You don't need a designer budget to get the look. We've found the most flattering pleated pieces to can shop, starting from £20. KAREN MILLEN If you want to add a little drama to the pleats trend, why not try out this chic cape top from Karen Millen. Available in vibrant red and with matching pleated trousers to match, you'll be standing our from the crowd (in the best way!) with this cool matching set. PHASE EIGHT This halterneck top from Phase Eight is a standout piece thanks to its luxe pleating and exclusive in-house print. Whether worn as a set with the matching trousers for a summer event or dressed down with denim for day-to-night style, this versatile look works for any occasion. JOANNA HOPE Add of a pop of colour to your summer wardrobe with this statement maxi from Joanna Hope. The elasticated waist makes for a comfortable fit, while the detachable belt cinches the silhouette for a flattering shape. With a stylish maxi length, it's a perfect choice for weddings, black-tie events, or summer parties. MONSOON This Sienna Miller-approved maxi dress perfectly fits the current boho trend, filled with delicate floral motifs and its airy silhouette. This dress is equal parts effortless as it is eye-catching, making it ideal for garden parties, brunches, or summer weddings. Simply throw on a pair of platform heels, and you're good to go. H&M Made from a stylish crinkled weave, these H&M trousers feature an elasticated waist for a comfy fit, handy side pockets, and an unfinished edge at the hems for a cool-girl, laid-back vibe. Pair them with sandals and a linen shirt for easy warm-weather dressing.

Rent woes and profit motivations vary among the ones who have set out to build them in the city's overlooked and underused spots. SINGAPORE – Until recently, there was nothing to announce the shop's presence. To hit upon the trove of archival Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake designs that are the goods of Gen Z-run boutique Upstairs Garments, interested buyers would first have had to know it was there. A sandwich board at the foot of its Tanjong Pagar shophouse front now takes care of that. But the uninitiated must still work to spy the narrow doorway between an ice cream parlour and a Korean barbecue joint, then take the stairs to the top, only to arrive, perplexed, at a spartan office space.

Salon 1884 Resort 2026 Collection

Last season Andrea Mary Marshall decided to launch an eponymous collection to sit alongside Salon 1884, with the intention of releasing pre-seasons under Salon 1884 and the main line under her own name. Marshall was a fine artist prior to becoming a designer, so one way to think about these changes is that the Andrea Mary Marshall line is the right brain to Salon 1884's left brain. The former is more emotional, experimental, and editorial, while the latter is more minimal and wardrobe focused. Salon 1884 is what the designer and her friends would wear on a day-to-day basis: 'My personal taste level is so Salon, that's how I dress,' the designer said on a walk-through. 'It's very important for me that [this line] is for women that shop and dress for themselves and that want to feel empowered.' Salon 1884 might be pared-down and more about solutions than fantasy, but it's not so precise as to read cold; in fact it's 'hot' as in seductive. For example, brown suede harem pants—shown with a luscious cape, for example—are slit down the side of the leg. Bias dresses are cut to cling, and there are a number of one-seam, Madame Grès-inspired jersey dresses that wrap around the body, not in a way that mummifies it, but one that reveals skin. Leggings and a nylon poncho add an unexpected sportif feeling, which is intentional. 'The Salon girl is healthy and active and takes care of her body,' noted Marshall, who succinctly summarized the brand vibe as bringing together 'Issey Miyake Plantation with Kim Basinger [in 9 1⁄2 Weeks] and Working Girl.' Yet an apron dress, button-down body suits, and what might just be the perfect shirt dress—in blue-and-white stripes, with button tabs that allow the wearer to draw in the waist—tap into the American sportswear tradition established by the likes of Claire McCardell, Elizabeth Hawes, and other forceful female designers.

Save £50 on ‘long lasting' Issey Miyake perfume shoppers say is their ‘desert island' scent

Issey Miyake's 'long-lasting' perfume has been slashed by almost 50% from £110 to £59 with shoppers saying they love it so much they would choose it as their 'desert island' item A great perfume can be one of the most important things in your beauty arsenal, helping you feel instantly confident and put together with a single spray. Some shoppers have even gone as far as to say that they would consider one perfume in particular their 'desert island' luxury. The happy customer said: 'If you put me on a desert island and said I can have two luxuries, perfume would be one. Beautiful smell, absolutely love florals.' The perfume that's gotten such high praise is the Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Eau & Magnolia fragrance, with its fresh and floral scent being a big hit. Although usually priced at £110 for 100ml, The Perfume Shop has now slashed the price of it to £59.99, saving you £50. This price cut makes the 100ml bottle work out cheaper than the 50ml, which is still priced at £64.99 – the perfect time to get more for your money. There are also some other great perfume deals on at the moment, with Sephora offering up to 40% off its fragrances, including some big name brands like Prada, YSL and Gucci. Elsewhere LookFantastic is running a 50% off sale on selected perfumes for a limited time. You can get 100ml of Calvin Klein Eternity for Women Eau de Parfum for £44.50 down from £89, whilst the Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense Eau de Parfum has been slashed to a much more affordable price. Usually available for £71 for a 30ml bottle, it's now on offer for £35.50. The L'Eau d'Issey Eau & Magnolia however has zesty, refreshing notes combined with light florals and subtle earthy tones, making it a lovely fragrance to wear during the summer, although you could just as easily wear it year round. Those who've bought it have also said it's the perfect scent for any occasion, and can be worn both day and night. It has top notes of bergamot and neroli for that zingy, fresh scent, with heart notes of rose and magnolia to bring soft, feminine floral hints. It finishes with sandalwood at the base to give it some depth. Other reviews also praised the L'Eau d'Issey Eau & Magnolia perfume, with one writing: 'Wow. Just wow. I love it even more than expected. Everyone compliments me and asks what I'm wearing!!! Awesome!!' Another agreed: 'Sample, long lasting scent that is not too strong, it's refreshing and light.' Some weren't as much of a fan of the scent as others, with one shopper saying: 'The smell is alright, but I probably won't be getting anymore since it just really doesn't suit me. I do recommend for others try it out for themselves.' Someone else wrote: 'This smelled like your typical floral scent! Nothing special about it. Didn't last too long either. Something I would keep in the car or somewhere for a quick spritz but wouldn't be a top pick or everyday wear perfume.' However others couldn't get enough, writing: 'I really love this perfume, it is perfect for day and night and lasts a long time.'
