Brooklyn Beckham's Family Has Reportedly Labeled Him 'The Hostage' In Marriage To Nicola Peltz Amid Feud
Brooklyn Beckham's loved ones are reportedly concerned about him amid his marriage to Nicola Peltz. Sources claim his family has branded him a "hostage" who's being "controlled" in his marriage to the billionaire heiress, as he seems to now be doing things he's known to have generally despised. His parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, feel "betrayed" after the couple skipped the ex-football star's 50th birthday celebration as their strained relationship takes an "unbelievable" twist. David and Victoria Beckham's eldest son, Brooklyn, has sparked worries among his loved ones as he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, continue to be estranged from his family. According to the Daily Mail, Brooklyn is privately known to detest being filmed, and would only do it if he had to, he recently shared a video on Instagram where he's seen riding a motorbike with Nicola, seemingly showing he's siding with her in the bitter feud with his family and would do anything for her. "My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby," Brooklyn wrote. However, the video has only raised suspicion amongst his loved ones as his parents fear he is continually under Nicola's control. "Brooklyn is now being referred to as 'the hostage.' He is in a situation where those who love Brooklyn fear that he is being controlled by Nicola, and it is heartbreaking," an insider close to the situation told the news outlet. "Videos like this are just not what he does. He will be dying inside," they continued. "He's soppy and he's a romantic, but that video just isn't him. He hates all of that stuff, so you have to wonder if Nicola was behind it." Brooklyn, who married Nicola in April 2022 at her parents' £ 76 million home in Palm Beach, Florida, has now become estranged from his family as he sought to carve out his own space away from his parents' shadow. However, his attempt at independence was seemingly met with resistance from his parents. "Brooklyn has been trying to separate himself from his parents, set boundaries, and focus on creating his own life with Nicola, and feels like they have lashed out in return," a source previously shared, per Page Six. The young couple has notably skipped several Beckham family functions, including David's recent golden jubilee celebration. They also didn't attend a big family party at the Beckhams' Cotswolds home, nor make it for an idyllic trip to France, or a meal at Notting Hill restaurant, Core. According to the Daily Mail, Brooklyn also missed a "boys fishing trip" to the Scottish Highlands with David and his younger brothers Romeo and Cruz, and a pre-birthday bash at Cipriani restaurant in Miami at the end of March. The Beckham family feud also seems to be causing friction between Brooklyn and his siblings. He recently jetted into the country for a photo shoot with Italian luxury fashion brand Moncler, but didn't tell David and Victoria he was in town, nor did he find time to see his brothers and sister. Brooklyn is understood to have fallen out with his immediate younger brother Romeo during the time of his wedding with Nicola, when the actress seemingly refused to speak to Romeo's then-girlfriend Mia Regan. However, Brooklyn's relationship with his youngest brother, Cruz, or sister, Harper, seems to have also soured. "Brooklyn has barely ever had a cross word with Cruz - and yet he hasn't seen him for ages," an insider shared, per the Daily Mail. "You have to wonder if he isn't allowed [to see him]." They continued, "Then there is Harper. It is absolutely heartbreaking that Brooklyn and Nicola didn't bother to see her when they came to London last week." "Nicola used to be all over her like a rash, posing for pictures and putting them on TikTok or Instagram, saying that Harper was her little sister," the insider shared, adding that Nicola was perhaps "using" Harper "for her own image." "Whatever the reason, to cut a young girl out of this when she literally has had no part to play is cruel," the source noted. "It is just unbelievable that Brooklyn would do this of his own accord. Meanwhile, David and Victoria reportedly "feel betrayed" by their eldest son after he skipped his dad's 50th birthday milestone celebration. "Victoria and David haven't called, texted, or messaged Brooklyn directly since the birthday party," an insider told Us Weekly, describing their absence as "a blow" to their once-strong familial bond. The source explained that there is "very deep tension rooted in control and different plans for Brooklyn's future." "Nicola comes from a powerful family," the source noted of her parents: billionaire hedge fund founder Nelson Peltz and former fashion model Claudia Heffner. "David and Victoria are used to being in control [of situations like this] and there has been a shift." Although friends and family close to the Beckhams believe there's a "long road to mending" strained ties, the insider shared that "there's a desire to mend on David and Victoria's part." Brooklyn may be distanced from his famous family, but he's reportedly leaning heavily on the unwavering support of Nicola. According to insiders who spoke to TMZ, the couple feels exhausted and frustrated with what they describe as the "toxic" and "narcissistic" behavior of David and Victoria. One source alleged that the former football player often "verbally berates" Brooklyn during phone calls. Victoria is said to follow up tense moments with carefully crafted texts to Nicola, supposedly to make it seem like David "didn't just scream at Brooklyn for an hour."

Kvaratskhelia eyes double success at Inter's expense
PARIS: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has already played a part in denying Inter Milan the Serie A title this season, and the Georgian is now hoping to get the better of them again with Paris Saint-Germain in Saturday's Champions League final. The 24-year-old Kvaratskhelia moved to Paris in January from Napoli for a reported 70 million euros ($79.2m) plus bonuses. He is set to have a key role to play for Luis Enrique's side against Inter in Munich, despite missing last weekend's French Cup final victory over Reims as a precaution due to a minor fitness issue. Perhaps he had been up late the previous night celebrating his former club's Serie A triumph, as Napoli pipped Inter to the Scudetto in their final game of the season. Napoli's second Italian league championship in three campaigns was claimed despite 'Kvara', one of the stars of their title in 2023, leaving the team in the middle of the season. Instrumental two years ago when he earned the nickname 'Kvaradona' at the club where Diego Maradona is an icon, he played a pivotal part in the early weeks of this season under Antonio Conte, scoring five goals in the first 10 Serie A games -- only four Napoli players finished the campaign with more goals, including Scott McTominay. Kvaratskhelia can therefore claim an Italian league winner's medal for this season as well as one for Ligue 1 for his contribution towards PSG's cruise to the domestic title. However, his transfer to PSG has really aided the French side in Europe, where the extra competition for places in attack has helped bring the best out of fellow forwards Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue. The left-winger who loves to play with his socks rolled down around his ankles also fits perfectly into coach Luis Enrique's system, which demands that the attackers do their bit to help the team defensively. 'He is perfectly adaptable to our way of playing. He is versatile. He can go past players and he can also defend which is essential because we need to be able to defend as 11 players and attack as 11 players,' Luis Enrique said in January. 'He fits into our idea of how to play football.' Key for PSG already Kvaratskhelia has so far contributed six goals and six assists in 24 appearances for PSG, including one magnificent strike against Aston Villa in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final and the pass to set up Dembele's winning goal away to Arsenal in the semis. PSG had already started to turn a corner following a sluggish start this season when the former Rubin Kazan player arrived, but Luis Enrique is convinced Kvaratskhelia's presence has been essential in his team getting to Munich. 'If you analyze in depth how we have improved defensively, it comes down to the way the attackers help out. The way they defend is exceptional, and the statistics show how many balls they recover for us,' the coach said last week. The PSG boss still faces a difficult decision over which one of his four main attackers to leave out of the front three on the night -- 33-goal top scorer Dembele is certain to start, meaning one of the in-form Doue or the lively Barcola will have to drop to the bench if Kvaratskhelia is to be in the starting XI. But his experience of playing Inter could be invaluable, even if Simone Inzaghi's side fared well when they came up against him at Napoli. Kvaratskhelia won just once in six clashes against the Nerazzurri with his former club, and has never scored against them. 'Technically he's a special player so it won't be easy,' insisted Denzel Dumfries, Inter's Dutch right wing-back who is likely to be in direct opposition to Kvaratskhelia on the night. Can Inter this time be celebrating at his expense or will Kvaratskhelia get his hands on another winner's medal on Saturday? — AFP

Reigning Champions Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek Eyeing French Open Second Week
Carlos Alcaraz bids to book his place in the French Open last 16 on Friday, with defending women's champion Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka also in third-round action at Roland Garros. Second seed Alcaraz eased through his opening two matches in Paris, despite dropping a set against Hungary's Fabian Marozsan. Next up is a third-round meeting in the night session with 69th-ranked Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, who has made the last 32 for the first time since 2018 but struggled with a knee injury during his win over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Four-time Grand Slam champion Alcaraz is the title favourite at Roland Garros after securing the Monte Carlo Masters and Italian Open trophies in the build-up to the clay-court major. He has reached the second week in 10 of his last 11 Slam appearances. "If I lose the focus in Grand Slams, in matches (that are) the best-of-five, it's much better to refocus your attention," he said. "You have more time, you have more sets just to be back if you lose your focus a bit." The 22-year-old Spaniard would secure a match against either American 13th seed Ben Shelton or Italian surprise package Matteo Gigante with a victory. World number 167 Gigante, playing in the main draw of a major for the second time, downed former finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round. Eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti arrived in Paris as one of the form players in the world after following a runner-up finish in Monte Carlo with semi-final runs in Madrid and Rome. The Italian has not dropped a set yet and has Argentina's world number 97 Mariano Navone next in his sights. "After the final in Monte Carlo there was I think a boost of confidence, of something inside that I needed to have," said Musetti. Danish 10th seed Holger Rune, who has never failed to reach the last 16, plays Frenchman Quentin Halys in his third-round match. - Swiatek 'feeling good' - Four-time winner Swiatek has dispelled some of the doubts surrounding her form with two comprehensive wins and takes on unseeded Romanian Jaqueline Cristian on Court Suzanne Lenglen. The Polish star brushed aside former US Open champion Emma Raducanu for the loss of just three games in round two, as she looks to reach a first final since lifting the French Open trophy last year. "I have been feeling good, and that's it," said Swiatek, hoping to become the first woman to win four successive Roland Garros titles since Suzanne Lenglen 102 years ago. "We'll see what's going to happen in the future. But for sure these two matches were pretty solid, so I'm happy with the performance." Swiatek could set up a tie against either former Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina or 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko. World number one Sabalenka continues her tilt at a maiden Roland Garros title against Serbian left-hander Olga Danilovic in the opening match on Court Philippe Chatrier. The Belarusian has not played Danilovic since a win in Madrid Open qualifying seven years ago. "She's playing great tennis. So am I," said Sabalenka. "It's going to be a fight. I love challenges, and I'm excited to face her." Chinese eighth seed Zheng Qinwen plays Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko in an intriguing clash on Court Simonne Mathieu. The Olympic champion is hoping to extend her eight-match winning streak at Roland Garros after taking gold at the Paris Games last summer, but 18-year-old Mboko has already won five times on her run after coming through qualifying. "I'm expecting a big fight. I'm going to bring out a big fight against her," said Mboko. "I think it's going to be a very hard battle for me." Fourth seed Jasmine Paolini, the 2024 losing finalist, continues her campaign against Ukraine's Yuliia Starodubtseva, while Elina Svitolina targets a third straight last-16 appearance against American Bernarda Pera.
