Biden says he could 'beat the hell out of' authors of new book arguing his cognitive decline
Former President Joe Biden joked Friday he could take on those who questioned his mental faculties following his first public remarks since announcing he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Biden's statement comes after several books have been released detailing his mental deterioration while in office, including the book, "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again," that was released May 20. "You can see that I'm mentally incompetent, I can't walk," Biden quipped with reporters Friday after speaking at a Memorial Day event. "And I could beat the hell out of both of them." Biden appeared to be referencing the book's authors, Jake Tapper of CNN and Alex Thompson of Axios. Biden's First Public Remarks Since Cancer Diagnosis Honor Gold Star Families The reporters' book claims that Biden struggled to string together coherent sentences for campaign ad videos, that his Cabinet meetings were "so scripted" and that Biden's team allegedly plotted a cover-up to hide just how severely his mental faculties had declined. Read On The Fox News App But Biden's team has pushed back on the material included in the book. "There is nothing in this book that shows Joe Biden failed to do his job, as the authors have alleged, nor did they prove their allegation that there was a cover up or conspiracy," a Biden spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "Nowhere do they show that our national security was threatened or where the President wasn't otherwise engaged in the important matters of the Presidency. In fact, Joe Biden was an effective President who led our country with empathy and skill." Biden Family Misled Public, Concealed Details On Son Beau's Cancer Diagnosis, New Book Says In addition to the publication of multiple books this year chronicling the deterioration of Biden's mental faculties, leaked audio recordings of Biden's October 2023 interview with former Special Counsel Robert Hur were released in May, showing that Biden struggled to not slur his words and even appeared to forget the year his son died. Biden revealed May 18 that he had an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer, and his office later said he had never received a prostate cancer diagnosis before. Biden told reporters Friday that he is "optimistic" about his diagnosis and is currently receiving treatment in the form of a pill. Biden's Sad Prostate Cancer Diagnosis: Unanswered Questions And Maga Attacks "My expectation is we're going to be able to beat this," Biden said. Earlier Friday, Biden appeared at a Memorial Day sponsored by the Delaware Commission of Veteran Affairs where he honored service members who had lost their lives. "We come together and remember the debt we owe to the American military," Biden said at the event, sponsored by the Delaware Commission of Veteran Affairs. "The military is a solid spine, the spine of our nation," he said. "Our troops, our veterans, our military families, and our Gold Star families in particular. Only around 1% of all Americans defend 99% of us — 1%. Just 1% of Americans risk the ultimate sacrifice. We owe them so much more than we can ever repay them."Original article source: Biden says he could 'beat the hell out of' authors of new book arguing his cognitive decline

Biden jokes he 'can beat the hell out of' authors on his decline after cancer di
Former President Joe Biden joked that he can 'beat the hell out of' two authors who wrote about his decline while delivering his first public remarks since his cancer diagnosis. Biden, 82, knocked several criticisms of him at once while speaking to reporters at a Delaware Memorial Day event on Friday. 'You can see that I'm mentally incompetent and I can't walk and I can beat the hell out of both of them,' he said. The 46th president was referring to journalists Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, who co-wrote Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again. Biden said he is 'optimistic' about the treatment plan he is under for his Stage 4 prostate cancer. His office announced on May 16 that doctors discovered a 'small nodule' on his prostate. 'We're underway and all the folks are very optimistic,' the ex-president said. 'The expectation is we're going to be able to beat this. It's not in any (other) organ. My bones are strong, it hasn't penetrated. So I'm feeling good.' He added that it's 'all a matter of taking a pill, one particular pill, and for the next six weeks, and then another one, the expectation is we're going to be able to beat this'. Biden said 'I don't have any regrets' about seeking a second term before being forced to drop out of the race following a disastrous debate against now-president Donald Trump. 'There's a lot going on. And I think we're in a really difficult moment, not only in American history, in world history. I think we're at one of those inflection points in history where the decisions we make in the next little bit are going to determine what things look like for the next 20 years.' More Trending He also said he is upset that American politics are 'so divided'. Biden's aides are under new scrutiny after the book detailed signs of his physical and mental decline in his last year as president. A White House spokesperson on Thursday alleged that former First Lady Jill Biden conspired to hide her husband's health from the public. The former president spoke on a day that coincided with the 10th anniversary of his eldest son Beau Biden's death from brain cancer. Jill Biden should have to answer for 'cover up' of former president's decline, White House says
Former first lady Jill Biden should have to answer for her role in the "cover up" of her husband and former President Joe Biden's mental decline, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Multiple books published in 2025 have detailed the deterioration of Biden's mental faculties while in the White House, including in the book "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again" released May 20. "The former first lady should certainly speak up about what she saw in regard to her husband and when she saw it and what she knew, because I think anybody looking again at the videos and photo evidence of Joe Biden with your own eyes and a little bit of common sense can see this was a clear cover up," Leavitt said. "And Joe, by, Jill Biden was certainly complicit in that cover up." 'The Kamala Excuse': Tensions Between Biden And Harris Plagued Their Campaigns, New Book Reveals "There's documentation, video evidence of her clearly shielding her husband away from the cameras that were just on 'The View' last week," Leavitt told reporters Thursday. "She was saying, 'Everything is fine.' She's still lying to the American people. She still thinks the American public are so stupid that they're going to believe her lies. And frankly, it's insulting and she needs to answer for it." A spokesperson for Jill Biden did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. Read On The Fox News App "Original Sin," authored by journalists Jake Tapper of CNN and Alex Thompson of Axios, includes stories about how former President Joe Biden struggled to handle fairly routine aspects of a campaign. For example, the book says his team attempted to film a campaign video for ads on television in a high school gym, and have people ask questions akin to a town hall meeting. Biden Struggled To Film 2024 Campaign Videos Amid Declining Health, New Book Claims: 'The Man Could Not Speak' "The campaign was trying to make it look like the president was out there taking off-the-cuff questions from voters in public," the book said. "But the event was closed to reporters, and the campaign had the full list of questions that people would ask." Even so, former President Joe Biden encountered so much "trouble" answering questions that his team decided to cut the footage. Some blamed the poor lighting in the gym, but the book said that others said the real problem remained with the former president. New Book Reveals Biden's Inner Circle Worried About His Age Years Before Botched Debate Performance Meanwhile, Joe Biden's team has pushed back on the material in "Original Sin," which chronicles the 2024 election cycle and how his team allegedly plotted a cover-up to hide just how severely his mental faculties had declined. "There is nothing in this book that shows Joe Biden failed to do his job, as the authors have alleged, nor did they prove their allegation that there was a cover-up or conspiracy," a Biden spokesperson previously said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "Nowhere do they show that our national security was threatened or where the President wasn't otherwise engaged in the important matters of the Presidency. In fact, Joe Biden was an effective President who led our country with empathy and skill."Original article source: Jill Biden should have to answer for 'cover up' of former president's decline, White House says

Jake Tapper fumes over lefty podcaster implying his son is racist for wanting to be a cop: ‘This is why you f—ers are losing'
CNN anchor Jake Tapper recalled how a left-wing podcaster took a patronizing tone when he shared that his 15-year-old son wants to be a cop. The unnamed podcaster implied that Tapper's son was racist due to his law enforcement aspirations, something that left the CNN anchor stunned and feeling that was emblematic of why Democrats have been losing elections. 'Their joke was about my 15-year-old son, 'Oh, how does he feel about minorities?'' Tapper recalled during an interview on 'The Prof G Pod' podcast last week. 'Like the idea that he wants to be a policeman, therefore he's, he's racist, my son. And like, you know, that was the big laugh.' 'Then I got dragged in the comments and all that stuff and, and I thought to myself, 'This is why you f—ers are losing elections.'' 'The Prof G Pod' host Scott Galloway concurred, saying, 'One hundred percent.' Jake Tapper argued that Democrats don't seem to have a great way of connecting with people like his son. Jake Tapper / Instagram The CNN host has been doing a media tour to promote his new book on former President Joe Biden's decline. Getty Images Tapper did not identify where this took place, saying it was a 'left-leaning podcast that shall remain nameless.' However, it appears to line up with his appearance on 'How Long Gone' back in April. 'How Long Gone' co-host Chris Black hit back at Tapper over the apparent dig. 'Him willfully choosing to take a joke wrong, that he definitely knew what it was in the moment, I would say is only a pro move,' Black said after a clip of Tapper's jab went viral. 'He spun it for his own gain, and it's working.' Tapper has been doing the media circuit to promote 'Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,' a tome he co-authored with star Axios reporter Alex Thompson that was released last week. The CNN chief Washington correspondent's remarks came during a broader conversation about the Democratic Party's troubles with men. 'My son is now 15 years old, and he's a gamer. He's a football fan, starting linebacker on his varsity football team,' Tapper explained. 'The Democratic Party has no way of communicating with him. They have no entrée into his world.' The CNN host also hit back at the condescending attitude in lefty circles towards people like his son and ripped into the jab at his desire to be a police officer. 'You're deciding he's a racist because he wants to be a cop. And why does he want to be a cop? He wants to be a cop because he wants to help people,' Tapper shot back. 'He thinks that's the best way he can help people. And that's how the Democratic Party talks to men, not just white men, but men.'

Tapper: Biden's demise ‘may be even worse than Watergate in some ways'
CNN anchor and journalist Jake Tapper suggested the issues with mental acuity that led to former President Biden dropping out of last fall's presidential race were akin to the Watergate scandal of the 1970s. 'It is a scandal,' Tapper said while appearing on Piers Morgan's Fox program this week. 'It is without question, and may be even worse than Watergate in some ways, because Richard Nixon was in control of his faculties when he wasn't drinking,' Tapper added. The Watergate scandal led to Nixon's resignation under the threat of impeachment. It concerned the cover-up of a burglary at the Democratic National Committee headquarters. Tapper's new book, 'Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,' argues top aides to Biden were kept in the dark about the severity of Biden's mental decline, while others justified supporting his bid for reelection fearing a second term for President Trump. Biden ended up dropping out of the presidential race in July after a bad debate performance against Trump in June. Then-Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee but lost to Trump in November. Democrats are still licking their wounds over the loss as a series of books have been released that go into the party's problems. Tapper has come under some criticism with regards to the book. Some critics say he should have reported more on Biden's condition last year. Tapper has expressed some regret for the way he and others in the media covered the race in its final months. Tapper and his co-author, Axios's Alex Thompson, have been on a media tour in recent weeks, defending the reporting in their book and beating back criticism of the book's timing.
