Golden Knights Predicted to Land Perfect Co-Star for Jack Eichel
Golden Knights Predicted to Land Perfect Co-Star for Jack Eichel originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Vegas Golden Knights were eliminated from the postseason in the second round, ending what was a solid season. Vegas is now heading into the offseason looking for some answers on how to get back to competing for Stanley Cup titles. Advertisement The Golden Knights have a few different options, but the team desperately needs more scoring. Other than star Jack Eichel, Vegas struggled at times this year with having an offensive punch. One solution could be the team going after star free agent Mitch Marner. NHL writer Joe Yerdon of Bleacher Report linked the two sides together and listed Vegas as the best landing spot for the Toronto Maple Leafs star. "You could ask how Vegas could make it work and then I'd ask you: Have you ever known Golden Knights management to care about that? Marner teaming up with 2015 draftmate Eichel would give Vegas a lethal threat on the wing. Marner would get to play on another elite team only it would be one without crippling playoff history and decidedly less of a year-round spotlight on it. Oh, there are also all the highlights a city like Las Vegas has to offer as well, I guess.", Yerdon said. Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon (29) tries to get past Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews (34) and forward Mitch Marner (16) during the second period at Scotiabank Arena. John E. Sokolowski-Imagn Images Landing Marner could easily vault the Golden Knights back into title contention. Marner has been one of the best offensive players in the entire NHL over the past few seasons and has been a catalyst for the Maple Leafs. Advertisement This past season, he scored 27 goals and 75 assists, helping Toronto become one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. It remains to be seen where Marner will land, but Vegas does seem like a strong option for him. Golden Knights GM Sends Clear Message on Jack Eichel Contract
The Vegas Golden Knights fell short of another Stanley Cup run, being eliminated in the second round by the Edmonton Oilers. Despite Vegas holding home-ice advantage, the Oilers made quick work of them, winning the series in six games. Now entering the offseason, the Golden Knights have some work to do. But one of the more important pieces of business is the contract status of star Jack Eichel. Advertisement Eichel will be entering the final year of his deal and can enter free agency next year. However, Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon is hoping not to allow that to happen. 'The guy is a tremendous player," McCrimmon said. "He's one of the top guys in the NHL. He's got great character and great leadership. You see night in and night out what he does for our team. So that will be a really important piece of business for us. I sure hope to keep Jack in our organization. Jack loves it here. I hope we can find common ground and keep him a Golden Knight.' Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (9) celebrates after scoring an empty net goal against the Detroit Red Wings during the third period at T-Mobile Arena. Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images Eichel is coming off a great season for Vegas, scoring 28 goals and 66 assists. The star is one of the main reasons why the Golden Knights grabbed the Pacific Division title, and the team will do what it can to keep him around long-term. Advertisement 'We'll work on those players first, make some decisions there, or have a discussion with them and with agents,' McCrimmon said. 'We're going to do everything we can to improve our team in the next six or seven weeks.' If the Golden Knights can agree on a new deal with Eichel, it would keep this core together. Eichel seems to enjoy playing in Vegas, but at the end of the day, money tends to talk in these situations. Blackhawks Predicted to Land 4-Time All-Star in Free Agency
The Chicago Blackhawks have seen better days. The organization has missed the postseason for five straight years, and the team is still searching for some answers. Chicago is a proud franchise, and missing the playoffs tends to make the fans anxious. The front office has some work to do if it wants to get this team back into a place of contending for Stanley Cups. Advertisement The Blackhawks have a decent young team, led by Connor Bedard. But Chicago is going to need more if it wants to truly compete. NHL writer Lyle Fitzsimmons of Bleacher Report looked ahead at upcoming free agents and listed the Blackhawks as a potential option for Vegas Golden Knights star Jack Eichel. Eichel will be entering the final year of his deal with Vegas next season, and then could enter free agency. "Perhaps they'll now consider taking a run at Eichel in an effort to both placate their 19-year-old star and add legitimate prime-years talent into the top six. Eichel would be a prized trinket for whoever is hired as the team's new full-time coach, and he'd also fit nicely into its salary structure as the league's cap annually expands to $95.5 million, $104 million and $113.5 million through 2028." Florida Panthers left wing Matthew Tkachuk (19) keeps the puck away from Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (9) during the third period at T-Mobile R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images If the Blackhawks could land Eichel, it would be a true game-changer. The Golden Knights' star would bring a "go-to" type of player to Chicago, pairing him with Bedard. Advertisement The Blackhawks are in the business of winning titles, and Eichel likely wants to win more. The pairing could be special, with Chicago possibly landing another franchise cornerstone. Jack Eichel eyes long-term future with Vegas Golden Knights
Image Via Getty As the NHL has been subject to so many changes over the years, contract talks have always been perceived as filled with uncertainty. But things have looked rather optimistic for star forward Jack Eichel and his potential long-term future with the Vegas Golden Knights . As the elegant center enters the final year of his contract, the desire for a continued partnership stands high between him and the team's front office. Because Eichel has now developed into a leader, both on and off the ice, and is crucial to the Golden Knights' core, all signs point toward ongoing negotiations for his retention in Las Vegas. Jack Eichel and the Golden Knights' front office share a common vision Now that Jack Eichel has entered the last year of his current deal, talks regarding his contract extension have begun. This 27-year-old has been an integral part of the Vegas Golden Knights since he came into town four years ago, from the Buffalo Sabres. Upon joining the team, Eichel made it into the playoffs for three of the four seasons and became an instrumental factor during their 2023 Stanley Cup championship road. His presence, however, means more to Vegas than just stats, but 608 points in 616 games sure speak loudly about it. — TaylorRochaTV (@TaylorRochaTV) by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Perdagangkan CFD Emas dengan Broker Tepercaya IC Markets Mendaftar Undo Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon has expressed strong admiration for Eichel's contributions, emphasizing not merely the skills but the character and leadership that come with it. These are the traits the front office wants to secure in order to sign Eichel to a long-term deal. McCrimmon has placed the contract extension as a top priority since it is tied to the culture and identity of the team. The same admiration goes both ways, as Eichel has also expressed his deep appreciation for the organization and his teammates, as well as for the city of Las Vegas. While such negotiations are usually quite convoluted, Eichel maintains a calm demeanor. He could very well be swept away by the rumors, but instead, he chooses to stay focused on his off-season training, believing that the business side of things will figure itself out. That is a testament to the gentleman's character and to his belief that it is always about the work. July 1 is the day that Eichel will be free to sign a new contract, which, if it ever happens, is surely going to do plenty of good in securing Vegas' core for years to come, as well as ensuring a new chapter in Eichel's career to grow and flourish. Ever since Eichel came to Vegas, there have always been signs of synergy, and extension would be a big next step for that.
