EXCLUSIVE Coronation Street star hints he's ALREADY signed up for Celebrity Big Brother after Jack P Shepherd was crowned series champion
Coronation Street star Ben Price has hinted he may be the next soap name to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house, after co-star Jack P Shepherd was crowned series champion. The actor, 53, who plays Nick Tilsey on the ITV soap, has seen his close pals and co-stars Jack and Colson Smith previously take part in the famous show. Speaking to MailOnline on the red carpet at Saturday's Soap Awards alongside Colson and Jack, Ben quipped that it's 'already signed off' that he'll be joining CBB next year. Jack was crowned series champion after beating runner-up Danny Beard in April's final, with JoJo Siwa finishing in third place. Speaking about returning to work after the win, Jack told MailOnline: 'When you come back, everyone's exactly the same. Everyone said it was great. It was a surprise, the aim wasn't to win.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The actor was nominated by his fellow celebrity housemates quite a few times, which he insisted was because he told them he didn't care if he was up for eviction. He explained: 'I was only one that wasn't bothered if I was nominated. I said to them, it's fine.' The trio, who are continuing to host their On The Sofa podcast, also reflected on Colson's heartbreaking exit from the soap, after his character Craig Tinker was tragically killed off last month. Colson said: 'It was weird, there's been quite a lot of like milestones to get over and weirdly the last day was quite an enjoyable thing because you've worked so hard for it to come to that point and you're kind of saying goodbye to something that's been such a big part of your life. 'But we had a really nice day, I was lucky Jack and Ben were there and my family came into work. I had a really nice last scene, I was in Roy's Rolls with a nice group of people.' The best and brightest in serial drama were in attendance for the British Soap Awards on Saturday, with the ceremony set to be broadcast on ITV on June 5. It was the BBC 's EastEnders that cleaned up on the night with eight awards while Hollyoaks received three, Emmerdale two and Coronation Street only one. They kicked off their wins with Best Episode which went to Phil's Psychosis: The Mitchells In 1985. EastEnders also won Scene of the Year for Angie Watts' Shock Return while Navin Chowdhry won Best Villain for his role of Nish Panesar. Steve McFadden, who plays fan favourite Phil Mitchell, won the Best Dramatic Performance award while Patsy Palmer won Best Comedic Performance for her role as Bianca Jackson. Rudolph Walker & Angela Wynter (Patrick & Yolande Trueman) delivered another win for EastEnders as they won Best On-Screen Partnership. Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, won the Best Leading Performer Award and EastEnders also won the most coveted award of all: Best British Soap. Hollyoaks' three awards started with Isabelle Smith who won Best Newcomer for her role as Frankie Osborne. The Osbornes then won the Best Family award while Hollyoaks' sibling sexual abuse storyline received the Best Storyline award. Emmerdale's Amelia Flanagan won Best Young Performer for playing April Windsor while camera operator Mike Plant took home the Tony Warren Award which is given to employees working behind the scenes. Coronation Street's sole gong of the night was the Outstanding Achievement Award which went to David Neilson who has played Roy Cropper for 30 years. Jack P. Shepherd puts on a loved-up display with fiancée Hanni Treweek at the British Soap Awards after winning Celebrity Big Brother
Jack P. Shepherd cut a suave figure as he attended the British Soap Awards with his fiancée Hanni Treweek in London on Saturday. The Coronation Street actor, 37, looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a matching bow tie and white shirt. Hanni looked incredible in a black backless gown with long sleeves and a flowing train as she posed alongside her partner. The pair were also joined at the event by Colson Smith and Ben Price who host the On The Sofa podcast with Jack. The outing comes after Jack was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, beating out RuPaul 's Drag Race star Danny Beard. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Speaking about returning to work after the win, Jack told MailOnline: 'When you come back, everyone's exctly the same. Everyone said it was great. It was a surprise, the aim wasn't to win.' The actor was nominated by his fellow celebrity housemates quite a few times, which he insisted was because he told them he didn't care if he was up for eviction. He explained: 'I was only one that wasn't bothered if I was nominated. I said to them, it's fine.' Jack and Hanni got engaged during a romantic safari holiday in the Serengeti in June 2024. At the time, the couple posed for loved-up snaps in their safari getups to announce the happy news on social media. Flashing her sparkling engagement ring, Hannah beamed for the camera before kissing her new fiancé. Captioning the snaps, she gushed: '05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!' Jack and Hanni have been dating since 2017, after meeting on the soap when she worked in the press office. She later became a storyliner on the ITV show, before quitting to work as a fashion influencer. Despite being colleagues, their romance actually began when Jack impressed Hanni at a mutual friend's wedding. Speaking to OK! Magazine in 2020, Jack recalled: 'Then our mutual friends got married and we were both guests at the wedding. 'We got chatting, I made Hanni laugh, we had a couple of drinks and we flirted. That was it.' The duo then later bumped into each other once again in a Sainsbury's, which led to an exchange of texts and a blossoming romance. He told The Daily Star: 'I texted her afterwards and said 'that was awkward' and she told me she thought she looked a mess and then we started texting from there. 'I actually thought she looked fit – I just saw the girl I fancy wearing Lycra! We quickly went on our first date and we just clicked.' In 2018, the couple went public with their relationship and Jack gushed that Hanni was his 'soulmate' in another interview with OK! Magazine.

Coronation Street budget cuts ‘so obvious' say fans as they spot huge change to Audrey's salon – did you see it?
FANS of Coronation Street have said that the budget cuts have become 'so obvious' to see on-screen. Longtime viewers of the ITV soap have spotted a huge change to the set of Audrey's salon. 6 6 6 Helen Worth previously departed Coronation Street last year after five decades in the role as Gail Platt. However, her on-screen family still remains in Weatherfield as her mother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) still runs the salon. She hires two members of staff, her grandson David (Jack P. Shepherd) and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) to run the shop. However, one keen viewer took to social media fan forum site Reddit as they noted that the salon nearly always appears to be practically deserted by its once loyal customer base. In a thread titled, 'The salon is always empty!' the user wrote: "Why was Audrey hiring in the salon? "There's always no one there. I remember there used to be a good few people sitting in their getting their hair done back in the day. "I'm playing catchup so I'm way behind. Watching April episodes. This just tickled me. lol." Viewers think that this is all due to the budget cuts at ITV as execs can no longer afford to pay as many guest actors and extras. Another user claimed: "Budget-cuts, most-probably, the way ITV's struggling now. "They probably can't afford guest-characters to fill up the space quite as much as they used to." While someone else commented: "Oh wow. Things must be bad. It's sad because it just doesn't look realistic. It's always empty." Meanwhile, more viewers noticed that the barber shop on Victoria Street called Trim Up North has also disappeared from screens. On the same thread another viewer asked: "What happened to trim up north? That set looked more modern." A second replied: "Yes. That seems to have just disappeared. Unless I missed a storyline about it." Corrie cash crisis: shock exits for 2025 ITV bosses are locked in a battle to save the cash-strapped soap. This means that a number of stars have either been axed from or have abandoned the long-running serial drama. Colson Smith - Craig Tinker The character of Craig Tinker has been axed by bosses after 14 years. After he was told of the news in Autumn 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that would be written out of the show with scenes to air later this year. Craig's on-screen mum, Beth Tinker, also left the show in the summer when actress Lisa George was written out from the role. Sue Cleaver - Eileen Grimshaw After 25 years playing Eileen Grimshaw, former I'm A Celebrity campmate Sue Cleaver will quit the show. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she's already begun to film her exit scenes. However the character will not be killed off in case Sue opts to make a return in the future. Luca Toolan - Mason Radcliffe Bosses decided to axe the teenage character after just 16 months after he first joined the show. Recent scenes saw Mason stabbed by his criminal brothers after his pal Dylan brought a knife in an attempt to defend him. Sue Devaney - Debbie Webster In November 2024, we revealed that Debbie Webster is set to be killed off after 40 years on the cobbles. The character will die as part of a heartbreaking long-running dementia storyline. Charlotte Jordan - Daisy Midgeley The actress became the fifth star to leave Coronation Street in just one month. We revealed that she will bow out of the ITV soap later this year after four years on-screen. Charlotte told sources that she's hungry to see what other opportunities await. Shelley King - Yasmeen Metcalfe The actress has played Yasmeen Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 11 years and we revealed in January that she finished filming her final scenes. This follows the departure of her on-screen partner Stu Carpenter. As a third stated: "I think it closed permanently in January 2023 Could be wrong but sure I remember something along those lInes." Bosses previously decided to slash the number of established characters in scenes taking place in the iconic Rovers Return pub in a bid to reportedly claw back cash. Every time actors appear on-screen, they are due a per-episode fee, which can mount up for actors on lucrative deals. The cash crisis at ITV also prompted an exodus of huge cast members from the hit soap. Longtime stars such as Sue Cleaver, Colson Smith, Shelley King, and Sue Devaney have either quit or were forced to leave the cash-strapped serial drama. This comes as ITV has slashed both Corrie and Emmerdale to five 30-minute episodes per week, rather than six. 6 6 6

ITV Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd shares 'dangerous' blunder which halted filming
Jack P Shepherd, who has played David Platt for around two decades, admitted filming had to be halted at one point on the ITV soap over a near miss. Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd opened up on a blunder which happened on set. One co-star came a little too close to snipping off another's hair during filming. Jack, who clinched the Celebrity Big Brother title earlier this year, discussed the near-miss during a recent episode of his On The Sofa podcast. He pointed out he's became a master at the art of pretending to cut hair, with his Corrie character David Platt being a hairdresser for around two decades now. "David first started cutting hair at the age of 17 which would mean I've mean cutting hair for 20 years," he shared when discussing the ITV soap. He continued as reported by Digital Spy, "They're real scissors, because they're scissors from whichever makeup artist or supervisor is on that unit. So they just give me their scissors that are out of their bag. "Usually I go to the back of the person of whoever is there, I take a section and go all the way down the hair using two fingers with the hair in there, and I almost, almost hit the hair but I don't." Although the actor says he has never made a blunder himself, he disclosed that his co-star Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Windass, had filming halt when she came dangerously close to cutting actress Kate Ford's hair, who plays Tracey Barlow. "Samia nearly cut Kate Ford's fringe off," Jack said. "She got her full fringe in her fingers and she almost went down. Kate stopped the take and went, 'Samia, Samia, wait! What are you doing?!'" In other news on the Cobbles, Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon, famed for her role as Bethany Platt, has flaunted a gorgeous hair transformation. In an exciting update for fans, her future on the Cobbles has been confirmed. The actress has been taking a break from the ITV soap as she's currently on maternity leave. Lucy, 29, welcomed her second child back in January with footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson. In delightful news to fans, it has been confirmed she will be back, as she is returning to filming in the summer after maternity leave. She is set to make an appearance on screens again in October. Jack P Shepherd had the nation's soap lovers behind him earlier this year when he was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother's 2025 series. He surpassed fellow finalists Chris Hughes, Chesney Hawkes, Donna Preston, JoJo Siwa and Danny Beard. "I can't believe it, I am blown away I didn't expect it," he said after his win. "I thought I was a shoo-in for maybe fifth. As people were disappearing I thought 'surely not'. "I just figured that I might annoy a few people and they might not quite know how to work me out and then after a while they changed opinions and, yeah, I guess I was liked by the end."

Coronation Street's Ben Price suffers unfortunate accident in the home
Coronation Street star Ben Price, 53, has suffered an unfortunate accident in his home, he revealed recently. The Nick Tilsley actor co-hosts the On The Sofa podcast alongside Corrie co-stars Jack P Shepherd and Colson Smith, and was quick to tell them the story of the incident. He explained how, while cleaning his cooker ahead of a scheduled repair, he had found a dead mouse, and decided to check the loft for any more rodents. However, on his way out, he tripped and put his leg, which was already 'dead' from a jiu-jitsu injury, through the ceiling. 'I put my foot straight through. I've fallen through the ceiling, but my leg's dead, so I can't pick it back up!' He recalled. He went on to reveal how the misstep had resulted in complete carnage in the bathroom below, with the whole ceiling having collapsed. 'I think to myself, 'I've only put my little foot through', so it's just a foot mark in the ceiling. I'm thinking nothing of it. I look through the [gap], and there was not one bit, the shower, the loo, the tiles, the floor, that wasn't covered. 'It was utterly covered. The whole part of the ceiling had fallen down.' More Trending When his wife then revealed that she was going to have a shower, Ben was forced to reveal what had happened, and was even more disheartened when she saw this as an opportunity for a whole new bathroom! On the cobbles, Ben's alter-ego Nick has had a dramatic year, after embarking on an affair with long-time partner Leanne Battersby's (Jane Danson) sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor). Their romance began after Leanne was drawn into a cult, and once their relationship was exposed, they chose to stay together, leaving Leanne vengeful and heartbroken.
