West Genny advances, CBA falls in state lacrosse semis
Cortland, N.Y. (WSYR) — The perfect season continues for the West Genesee boys lacrosse team. The Wildcats improved to 21-0 with a 16-6 win over Penfield Wednesday in the Class A state semifinals.
Jack Wenham paced the 'Cats with five goals, while Jake McMahon chipped in with four goals and two assists.
With the win, West Genesee advances on to face another unbeaten team on Saturday, Half Hollow Hills out of Section XI.
The Wildcats are looking for their first state title in boys lacrosse since 2008. The class A final is set for 3 p.m. Saturday Hobart's Boswell Field.
CBA, meanwhile, fell in the Class B state semifinal to Canandaigua, 17-11. Jack Ludington led the way with six goals, one assist. The Brothers close out a terrific season with a 16-4 record.
