Cops launched a major investigation after Mr Blackwood was found fatally injured in a flat in Glenmuir Place, Ayr, on the evening of Saturday, July 5. Emergency crews raced to the scene around 8.10pm following reports of a disturbance — but tragically, Mr Blackwood couldn't be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives locked down the residential area as forensic teams combed the property for clues. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'The 40-year-old woman arrested in connection with the death of Mark Blackwood in Ayr has been charged. 'Around 8.10pm on Saturday, 5 July, we were called to a report of a man found seriously injured in a flat in Glenmuir Place. 'Mark was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.' Officers are still urging anyone with information to come forward as the probe continues. It comes following another tragedy in Ayrshire, when a 14-year-old boy died after being struck by a car. The youngster, named as Aiden McLuckie was knocked down by a Vauxhall Corsa as he walked on the A76 near Hurlford yesterday. A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Ayr earlier this month. Emergency services were called to reports of a 42-year-old found seriously injured at a property on Glenmuir Place around 8.10pm on July 5. Mark Blackwood was pronounced dead at the scene. On Friday, Jade Bell appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court where she faced a charge of murder. The 40-year-old, from Troon, made no plea during an initial appearance and was remanded in custody.
