The film premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, and received a thunderous response, earning a 9-minute standing ovation. After the success of Bawaal, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan teamed up again to appear in Shashank Khaitan's upcoming romantic comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. After being postponed several times, the makers have finally dropped the first looks of the actors along with a new release date for this highly anticipated film. The poster, originally shared by Dharma Productions, revealed Janhvi Kapoor's first look as Tulsi Kumari. In the poster, Janhvi was channelling desi girl vibes in a gorgeous yellow saree and golden blouse. The poster came with a humorous couplet that read, 'Dikhne main bholi bhaali, Chanchal pyaari… Lekin andar se melodramatic like Meena Kumari!!!" As fans keep waiting to witness Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's on-screen chemistry, the makers dropped a new release date for this romantic comedy. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which was scheduled to release on September 12, will now premiere in theatres on October 2, 2025. Alongside the lead pairs, the film features a versatile cast, including Sanya Malhotra, Maniesh Paul, Rohit Saraf, and Akshay Oberoi, among others. With this new release date, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is set to clash with Kantara: A Legend—Chapter 1 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Apart from Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Janhvi Kapoor is also gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Param Sundari, where she will be starring opposite Sidharth Malhotra. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In Lucknow sometime back, the actress shared her candid experiences in an exclusive chat with us, opening up about her visits to Lucknow, her debut film Archies, and her take on industry debates. She revealed why she finds the City of Nawabs so appealing, how she faced her first camera jitters, and why she believes honesty about personal choices matters. Khushi said she first visited Lucknow with her sister , who filmed here earlier. The young actress admitted she did not see much of the city at that time. 'I was here for a couple of days, just spending time on her sets, but Janhvi always has great things to say about Lucknow. She specifically told me that Lucknow's food is amazing, especially the kebabs.' Khushi Kapoor with sister Janhvi Kapoor Comparing her personality with Janhvi, Khushi highlighted her reserved nature. 'Oh yes! I am more of a quiet person and not much of a talker,' she confessed. She then recalled her nerves during her first on-set experience for Archies, acknowledging that she felt frightened while shooting. 'During the time of Archies, I was really very nervous and scared. But after that movie got over, immediately the nerves went away. Zoya (Akhtar) was an amazing team captain and taught me and the whole team everything, even the basics like catching the light, hitting the mark, etc. But I would admit that there was a lot of fear while shooting that film. As a kid, when I used to be on the sets with my mom and dad, I didn't bother to take any notes of the process as I never thought ki kabhi yeh mere kaam aayega though I wanted to always be an actress,' said Khushi. Addressing her openness about undergoing cosmetic procedures, Khushi, who is rumoured to have gone under the knife, stated, 'Yes, I have changed my looks. But everyone thinks I have done some 10-20 things on myself. It is obviously not the case. I don't think going under the knife for your looks is such a big deal. For me, it is not okay to be dishonest with people around me about my looks. There are a lot of impressionable youngsters who follow us on the internet. Plus, if we don't do something about our looks, then it is a problem and people will judge you for your looks, and if we do something for ourselves, feeding your insecurities, then also people have a problem. People will say that why did she change herself and did not stick to her original looks? So, you are not going to win either way. I am going to live my life the way I want to. Also, I was not born like this and all actor's groom themselves, and of course vanity is a large part of our life! I care about my looks, but haven't changed every single thing about my face. I don't want to set unrealistic standards of beauty and so I became open about the procedures I had done to look like this,' stated Khushi. Khushi Kapoor is a still from Archies On the subject of nepotism, Khushi acknowledged her privileged background. 'It is important to recognize when you come from a space of privilege and understand that you have an upper hand over other people. And the issue that people have is when we don't acknowledge this fact. People think that because we come from this family, we take things for granted but that is not the case,' she emphasised, adding, 'Of course, things are easier for us, and you can't debate about that. It is important to acknowledge that and make the most of the opportunities coming our way and prove ourselves. Once we have proven ourselves, no one is ever going to question us. There are so many people who have come from this privileged space and were able to stay for so long because they have proven themselves as good actors. I don't blame people for having an opinion about me right now, thinking I am not good or worthy enough to get these opportunities. I have had an unfair advantage, but I want to make the most of it now.' Commenting on her personal life, Khushi stayed tight-lipped about rumoured boyfriend . 'I am very new to the industry and want my work to be the focus. Of course, I'm not going to sneak around and hide from the paps but it is important to keep your work the main conversation,' she said.

Janhvi, daughter of late actor Sridevi and producer Boney kapoor, is one of the most promising actors of her generation, while Shah Rukh remains one of the reigning stars of the Hindi film industry. But there was a time when little Janhvi welcomed Shah Rukh Khan onstage after he won an award for his film Devdas. An old video from an award show is going viral on X (formerly Twitter), which shows a young Janhvi accompanying her father Boney Kapoor on stage, along with Preity Zinta. Boney and Preity were on stage to hand over an award, and Shah Rukh won it for Devdas. Despite the presence of the industry's two biggest names, all eyes were on little Janhvi, who looked adorable in a black dress. She had her hair tied in a braid and kept holding her father Boney Kapoor's hand. After reaching the stage, Boney asked her to say 'good evening.' He then picked Janhvi up in his arms so that she could also announce the winner's name with them, and together they shouted, 'Shah Rukh Khan.' Janhvi remained unaffected by the cameras and kept looking here and there. After Boney handed the award to Shah Rukh, they all posed for a picture. The actor gave a speech about filling Dilip Kumar's shoes in Devdas. Dilip Kumar had originally played the iconic character of Devdas in the 1955 film. Shah Rukh later starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas, which released in 2002. In an earlier interaction with NDTV, Janhvi was asked if she would like to star opposite Shah Rukh, Aamir, or Salman. Though she expressed excitement at the thought, she also expressed some reservation. She said, 'They are the biggest stars and everybody wants to work with them but thoda odd hoga agar main unke opposite kaam karungi toh (it would be a little odd if I star opposite them) but I will love to work with them.' On the work front, Janhvi will next be seen in Karan Johar's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Dinesh Vijan's Param Sundari. Shah Rukh, on the other hand, is gearing up for The King, which is helmed by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand.
