NFL draft analyst says Seahawks UDFA could make 53-man roster

NFL draft analyst says Seahawks UDFA could make 53-man roster The Seattle Seahawks made waves in undrafted free agency following the 2025 NFL draft, adding a bunch of high-upside prospects to the offseason 90-man roster. One of the more well-known additions was former Ole Miss defensive linemen Jared Ivey. The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler sees Ivey competing for a final roster spot in Seattle this offseason. Ivey recorded 42 tackles (11 for loss) and seven sacks for the Rebels this past season en route to All-SEC honors. Ivey was extremely versatile, playing multiple positions across the defensive line. He filled spots at 4i, 6i, and five-technique. Mike Macdonald will appreciate that flexibility. Ivey likely went undrafted because he tested poorly throughout the pre-draft process. The Suwanee, Georgia native ran a 5.15 40-yard dash, and leaped a 30.5 inch vertical and 9-foot-5 broad jump. Those were historically poor results, according to Relative Athletic Score (RAS). Testing numbers don't determine next-level success. It's understandable why teams are concerned with Ivey's athletic profile, leading to him going undrafted. But the tape reveals a competitive, versatile, productive player. Ivey will possess an opportunity to impress at Seahawks training camp while making a valiant push to make the roster in a deep defensive line room.

3 Seahawks undrafted free agents to watch at rookie minicamp

3 Seahawks undrafted free agents to watch at rookie minicamp The Seattle Seahawks' 2025 NFL draft class reported to the Virginia Mason Athletic Centre for rookie minicamp on Thursday. In addition to the 11 draft picks, various undrafted free agents also reported for the first time. Seattle's rookies will get their first taste of NFL practice from May 2-4. We've identified three of the Seahawks' undrafted free agents 12s should be excited to monitor this weekend. Connor O'Toole, DE, Utah The Seahawks reportedly gave former Utah defensive end Connor O'Toole $264,000 in total guarantees, one of the biggest deals in undrafted free agency this year. A wide receiver turned defensive end, O'Toole missed time with injury in 2023 and 2024. He was athletic at the Big 12 Pro Day, running the 40-yard dash in 4.66 seconds. Jared Ivey, DL, Ole Miss Former Ole Miss defensive linemen Jared Ivey was among the biggest-name undrafted free agents. Ivey went undrafted partially because he tested poorly athletically, but he was All-SEC this past season. He's a versatile chess-piece who's capable of playing multiple positions. Zy Alexander, CB, LSU LSU cornerback Zy Alexander possesses terrific size at 6-foot, 187 pounds, utilizing length to disrupt the catch point. The Tigers cover-man is a physical press-man cornerback. Alexander is a willing run defender and also uses disciplined eyes in zone coverage.

Seahawks gave massive guarantee to this undrafted free agent

Seahawks gave massive guarantee to this undrafted free agent The Seattle Seahawks made a slew of undrafted free agent signings following the 2025 NFL draft. Though the team has yet to confirm those moves, one of the higher-profile ones is Ole Miss defensive linemen Jared Ivey. There is reportedly another defensive linemen GM John Schneider pursued aggressively. Former Utah Utes defensive end Connor O'Toole is allegedly among the Seahawks' UDFA signings. O'Toole reportedly received a sizable $234,000 base guarantee from the Seahawks with a $30,000 signing bonus, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. That deal would be among the biggest Seattle handed out in this year's undrafted class. O'Toole strung together four quality seasons at Utah. The Albuquerque, New Mexico native recorded 22 tackles and 2.5 sacks in eight appearances this past campaign, having been limited by injury in back-to-back seasons. In 2023, O'Toole accumulated 31 tackles and 4.5 sacks in eight games. O'Toole's journey to the NFL is an interesting one. He actually arrived in Utah as a wide receiver and transitioned to the defensive line in 2022. O'Toole was a standout performer at this year's Big 12 Pro Day, having run the 40-yard dash in 4.66 seconds. The athletic defender also leaped a 37.5 inch vertical and 10-foot-1 broad jump, and ran the shuttle in 4.3 seconds, and three-cone in 7.06 seconds. The Seahawks are betting on that athleticism.

Chiefs scouting report: Ole Miss Rebels DE Jared Ivey

Chiefs scouting report: Ole Miss Rebels DE Jared Ivey Play of the Day No. 55: Ole Miss' Jared Ivey detonates Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold and forces and recovers the fumble (Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma, 2024). #POTD #NFLDraft2025 — Sam Teets (@Sam_Teets33) April 15, 2025 The Kansas City Chiefs tried to add an explosive pass rusher to their defensive line when they selected Felix Anudike-Uzomah two years ago. The Chiefs can't continue to wait for Anudike-Uzomah to find his rhythm. It's time to explore new pass rushing options through the 2025 NFL draft. Ole Miss defensive end Jared Ivey is a thickly built 6'5 7/8", 274 lb. pass rusher with arms that measured 33 3/4" at the Senior Bowl earlier this year. Ivey's build and power profile help him succeed when lined up as a 5-tech, 4-tech, or 4i. He took some snaps at 3-tech for the Rebels, but those reps won't translate to the NFL. Ivey's pass rush plan includes one of the most polished club-swims in the class, cross-chops, swipe-rips, two-handed swipes and bull rushes. Ivey uses his long strides to build impressive momentum into contact, which makes him a threat to run through offensive tackles. He also uses his stride length to stem rushes inside before quickly breaking outside and vice versa. Ivey lacks explosiveness off the line, and his high-cut frame prevents him from bending around the corner. This significantly limits opportunities for him to beat offensive linemen. He fails to deploy his pass rush plan on a consistent basis despite possessing several impressive moves and combinations. Ivey lacks the dynamic athleticism and change of direction to mirror playmakers in the space, but his raw power helps him set the edge in the run game. He stacks and sheds blocks with his length, giving him a decent floor as an edge-setting run defender. Many analysts view Ivey as a top 100-caliber prospect. He ranked 92nd on The Athletic's annual consensus board, roughly 20 spots below LSU's Bradyn Swinson and Michigan's Josaiah Stewart. Ivey's profile includes enough physical limitations that he could realistically reach Kansas City's pick at 95th overall.
