Cowboys' Micah Parsons Weighs Rams Trade to Form Terrifying Front with Aaron Donald and Jared Verse
Cowboys' Micah Parsons Weighs Rams Trade to Form Terrifying Front with Aaron Donald and Jared Verse originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Unlike his boss, Micah Parsons has been quiet since his trade request from the Dallas Cowboys last week. Amid stalling contract extension negotiations, the star defensive end has grown tired of the pace at which Jerry Jones & Co. operate. Parsons has yet to talk to the media since his Friday announcement, but Jones has had his share of headline-worthy quotes. Now Parsons has broken his silence, of sorts, with some social media engagement that is sure to frighten Cowboys fans ... and opposing offenses around the NFL. An Instagram user posted a jersey swap of Parsons in a Los Angeles Rams uniform, which got the attention of Rams legend Aaron Donald. Donald commented: "If [Micah Parsons] go to the rams I might have to call [my trainer] and get in football shape. wit that Dline would be unreal." The prospect of teaming up a future Hall-of-Fame tackle in Donald, the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year in Jared Verse and a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate in Parsons on the defensive line is enough to scare any of the best offenses in the NFL. Of course, Micah had something to say about it as well. Parsons responded to Donald's comment saying, "man!!! Dont tell me info like that!!" ... Then tagged his agent David Mulugheta. Even though Jones claims that he is "urgent" in resolving this stalemate with Micah, he has yet to contact Mulugheta about discussing terms of an extension. Mulugheta has since asserted how he and Parsons are serious in their desire for a trade, but Dallas retains full leverage. Micah is under contract until next offseason, and could be placed on two years worth of franchise tags to keep him a Cowboy. Only time will tell how this situation unfolds as we approach Week 1 - where Jerry has "absolutely no" confidence that Micah will be active. A trade is still far beyond comprehension at the moment, but if one were to happen, football fans cannot deny that a Parsons/Donald/Verse front would contend as one of the most imposing defensive lines ever. Jared Verse posts his own injury update on social media after knee scare in practice
It doesn't sound like Verse's injury is anything to worry about The Los Angeles Rams were given another injury scare on Thursday when star pass rusher Jared Verse left practice early after banging knees with Braden Fiske on the field. Sean McVay told reporters after practice that he didn't know the severity of it initially but Verse gave an update himself on social media Thursday afternoon. Verse posted on X/Twitter that he's 'fine' after leaving practice, seemingly in good spirits, too. Considering how important Verse is to the Rams' success, it's great to hear his injury isn't anything serious. That doesn't mean he's completely out of the woods yet or that he won't miss any practice time, but it doesn't sound like he'll be out very long, if at all. The Rams will need Verse healthy if they're going to make a run at a Super Bowl this season and he has Defensive Player of the Year aspirations of his own. If he can stay on the field, the sky's the limit.

Rams' Jared Verse has to be helped off the field at practice with an apparent knee injury
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jared Verse had to be helped off the field during practice with the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday after bumping knees with teammate Braden Fiske. Coach Sean McVay wasn't immediately certain of the severity of the injury for Verse, the NFL defensive rookie of the year last season and one of the NFL's top young pass rushers. Verse stayed down on the turf on his hands and knees for a long moment after walking off with assistance from training staff. Although Verse joined the growing list of Rams injury concerns, McVay had encouraging news on quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is expected to practice with his teammates Monday for the first time this summer. Verse had 4 1/2 sacks during the regular season and two more in the playoffs for the Rams, along with a 57-yard fumble return for a touchdown. An aggressive rusher and versatile all-around defender, the Rams' only first-round draft pick since 2016 is the heart of Los Angeles' rebuilt defensive front alongside Byron Young, Kobie Turner and Fiske, his college teammate at Florida State. Turner is also week to week with a back injury, McVay said after the Rams' final practice before their first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. Stafford has an aggravated disc that gave him a sore back, McVay confirmed, forcing him to miss the Rams' entire training camp at Loyola Marymount University. The 37-year-old quarterback had an epidural injection 'to allow him to be as healthy as possible,' McVay said. The rest and injections appear to be working: Stafford will do a full workout Saturday while his teammates play their preseason opener. He will return to practice in individual drills next week, although he won't travel to El Segundo for the Rams' joint practice against the Los Angeles Chargers. 'We're looking at it like he's got an acclimation period that starts on Saturday,' McVay said. ___ AP NFL:

Jared Verse exits practice early after bumping knees
The Rams have an injury concern with one of their best defensive players. Via multiple reporters, head coach Sean McVay said in his press conference that edge rusher Jared Verse departed Thursday's practice early after bumping knees with teammate Braden Fiske. McVay added that he wasn't sure of the severity of Verse's injury. But Verse was down for a bit before he was helped off the field and did not return. The No. 19 overall pick of last year's draft, Verse was named the AP defensive rookie of the year after registering 4.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and 18 quarterback hits in his first season with the Rams. He then recorded 2.0 sacks, three tackles for loss, and a fumble returned for a touchdown in a pair of postseason games. Verse earned his first Pro Bowl berth as a rookie as well. Additionally, McVay noted guard Kevin Dotson suffered a chest contusion in Tuesday's joint practice, but should be able to return to practice soon.
