The trend of remaking superhit films in another language is not new. Priyadarshan made his career in Hindi cinema by remaking his old Malayalam classics in Bollywood, and he became a famous director in Bollywood as well. Recently, Atlee rocked the box office with his first Hindi film 'Jawaan'. But, in 2010, there was a director who created a stir by releasing three remakes of his same film in a single year. This famous filmmaker made a lot of money by making the same film in three languages, with three different star casts, and all of them were blockbusters. Still, he could not enter Bollywood. The director who gave three hit remakes of the same film Siddique Ismail, popularly known as Siddique in the film world, started his film career as Fazil's assistant in Malayalam cinema. Later, he teamed up with Lal, and the Siddique-Lal duo gave Mollywood many hits. But after their separation in the 90s, Siddique started directing films alone. In 2010, he directed 'Bodyguard', starring Dileep alongside Nayanthara and Mithra Kurian. The film was a huge box office success, leading to a demand for its remake in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Just a few months later, Siddique produced the Tamil remake 'Kaavalan'. It starred Vijay, Asin, and Mithra Kurian. After this, director Siddique did wonders. A year before the release of 'Bodyguard', Siddique started working on the Hindi remake. Titled 'Bodyguard', the film starred Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor along with Raj Babbar and Hazel Keech. The film grossed Rs 253 crore and was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films at the time of its release. Siddiqui gave many hit films in a short time Siddique returned to Malayalam cinema after the success of three remake films of 'Bodyguard'. He had offers from many Bollywood stars who wanted to work with him after the success of 'Bodyguard'. But Siddique had Malayalam cinema on his mind. In 2018, he again made a remake of his film 'Bhaskar Oru Rascal', a Tamil film. And in 2020, he directed his last film, 'Big Brother' starring Mohanlal and Arbaaz Khan. Siddique was suffering from liver cirrhosis in his last days and died after a prolonged illness in July 2023. He was only 55 years old.

Peepingmoon also reported that both actors, Deepika and Allu Arjun, have openly expressed a desire to collaborate, and this film marks their exciting first onscreen collaboration. Talking about the film, Allu recently told News9, 'Yes, it's my twenty-second film, and it's with Atlee garu, who directed Jawaan. We've collaborated on it. I like the concept he told me, and I like his goals; they were similar to mine on many levels, and we aim to present a fresh visual spectacle film to Indian cinema." According to multiple Telugu outlets, including Gulte and Vanga reportedly removed Deepika from the project after repeated clashes over her demands, which were deemed 'unprofessional" by insiders. Deepika allegedly requested an 8-hour workday, which reportedly translated to just about 6 hours of actual shoot time. Things escalated further when the actress is said to have demanded a hefty remuneration along with a percentage of the film's profits. It is always a special moment for any upcoming actor to meet superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. However, actor Wamiqa Gabbi has a different story to tell. Wamiqa, who is busy promoting her latest Bhool Chuk Maaf, recalled her first meeting with the superstar at the muhurat of Baby John and it was "very weird". (Also read: Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf will now release in theatres on May 23, say makers) In an interview with Mashable India, Wamiqa recalled that Shah Rukh, who had worked with Atlee in his Hindi film debut Jawaan, came for the Muhurat of the director's next, Baby John. Shah Rukh's presence captivated everyone while Wamiqa and her brother, Hardik, stood at the back, discussing what would they say if Shah Rukh approached them. Her brother jokingly suggested, 'Nas kaat de,' and they laughed. Just before leaving the sets of Baby John, Dil To Pagal Hai actor came to meet Wamiqa to wish her luck and say good bye. What happened next? 'He said 'okay, bye' and I said, 'It was so nice meeting you, sir, my brother was suggesting I cut my wrist but obviously I won't do that.' There was a pin-drop silence for 10 seconds. Everyone went quiet, and he (Shah Rukh) left. After he left, a person from the production came running to me and was like, 'Did you just talk about cutting your wrist?' My brother was shocked. I honestly thought he (Shah Rukh) would get the humour, but he didn't," Wamiqa said. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, Bhool Chuk Maaf, is all set for its theaters release on May 23. Directed by Karan Sharma, the film had run into controversy after producer Dinesh Vijan announced that the movie will skip its theatrical release on May 9 and get a digital release on Prime Video on May 16. It was due to the heightened security drills across the nation following Operation Sindoor. The multiplex chain PVRINOX had moved the court challenging its producers' decision to release it on Prime Video directly.
