Hyderabad: State Governor and University's Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma asked the graduating students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) to embrace creativity, ethics, and human values in this era of rapid technological change. He encouraged the youth to lead the way towards a self-reliant India. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest at the 13th convocation of JNTU-H on Tuesday, The Governor noted the university's progress in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) and in setting high educational standards through the introduction of new courses and innovative digital learning models. The Chancellor noted that JNTU-H has received Rs 498 crore in research funding from central and state government agencies. He highlighted the admission of 237 foreign students from 25 countries as evidence of the university's commitment to international standards and its global recognition. 'Real education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about using that knowledge to benefit society,' he added. Jishnu Dev Verma congratulated all the students, faculty, officers, and staff, expressing his joy at the university's milestone of 50 years. During the ceremony, a total of 91,840 degrees were conferred for the academic year 2023–2024, including undergraduate, postgraduate, Doctor of Pharmacy, and Doctorate programmes. He congratulated the medal winners, emphasising that the support from parents, teachers, and family members is invaluable to these achievements.

Hyderabad: Highlighting the need for a transformative shift in the education system, Telangana governor Jishnu Dev Varma, on Tuesday said that all colleges must implement the National Education Policy (NEP). "Integrating universal human values, as envisioned in NEP 2020, is essential. This integration nurtures inner strength, sound decision-making, and resilience — qualities indispensable in today's complex world," said the governor, while speaking at the 13th convocation ceremony of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. Urging students to go beyond passive use of technology, he added: "Innovate, imagine, and build a future that is inclusive and humane. In a world characterised by rapid technological change and AI, it is your creativity, empathy, and ethics that will set you apart." Stating how the university is looking forward to addressing global issues through innovation, JNTU vice-chancellor T Kishen Kumar Reddy said how the university is setting up research hubs in select constituent and affiliated colleges. "These challenges are FEW - Food & Fuel, Energy & Environment, Waste & Water. The research hubs will cater to the challenges faced in these domains," Reddy said. 74 awarded gold medals This year's convocation saw 92,118 students being awarded degrees with 74 securing gold medals across different disciplines including engineering, technology, science, management, humanities, and social sciences. This achievement is because of my parents' unwavering faith in me. These medals are not just mine — they belong to them and to every girl who dares to dream big. Another heartwarming moment was when 40-year-old Singiah Gali received a PhD for his research in hybrid compost material. Currently working as a robotic process automation engineer, Gali said his biggest cheerleader was his four-year-old daughter. "She was clapping and calling out my name with so much pride when I went up to receive my certificate. I'll never forget that moment. I want to be someone she can look up to, someone who proves that it's never too late to learn, grow, and chase your passion," he said.

JNTUH to award over 92K degrees, 74 gold medals
Hyderabad: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) – Hyderabad will confer honorary doctorate to Professor TG Sitharam, Chairman All India Council for Technical Education, during its XIII convocation on Tuesday. During the ceremony, around 74 gold medals will be presented to meritorious students. A total of 92,118 degrees – 77,559 Undergraduate, 13,063 Postgraduate, 950 Doctor of Pharmacy, 305 Doctor of Philosophy and 241 other degrees will be presented to successful students during the event. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, who is also JNTU-Hyderabad Chancellor, will take part in the convocation and Professor Sitharam will deliver the convocation address. 'According to JNTUH officials, the University is in the process of revising the course curriculum and the syllabi of all UG and PG programmes in the form of R25 regulations, which will be applicable from the academic year 2025-26,' Professor Reddy said, adding that the main objective of the syllabus revision is to prepare industry need based curriculum that will enhance employability skills, 'A total of 791 students of JNTU-Hyderabad University colleges/units have been placed during campus interviews for the academic year 2024-25.

NCST intervenes in excessive fee collection by pvt engg colleges
Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) has instructed the principals of its affiliated colleges to address complaints regarding the excessive fees being charged to students. In a letter to all private unaided colleges affiliated with JNTU-H, Registrar Dr K Venkateswara Rao emphasised the need to adhere to the fee collection procedures set by the State government. The JNTU-H issued the directions against the backdrop of a complaint filed by D Rakesh and Hanumanth Naik about the colleges charging fees in violation of Government Order Ms No 37, issued on October 18, 2022. A meeting held at the NCST Court Hall in New Delhi was attended by the Registrar, the Director of Autonomous College Affairs, and the Principal of JBIET. It was stressed in the meeting to ensure compliance with the fee regulations. The meeting was convened by Jatothu Hussain, a member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST). The meeting noted that universities, including JNTU, Osmania, and Kakatiya, shall ensure that all engineering colleges under their jurisdiction adhere to the prescribed fee structure. Colleges that violate these regulations may face blacklisting, and their management may be subject to strict action from the Higher Education Department. The NCST has also directed universities to review any fee violations by private engineering colleges over the past five years and ensure that any student certificates held by these colleges are returned. Consequently, the Vice-Chancellor has been requested to instruct all affiliated college principals to follow the fee collection guidelines issued by the Government and the University. He warned that colleges must not withhold student certificates after the programme completion. Colleges found in violation of these rules will face stringent action by the University by existing regulations.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, JNTU will close the AP EAMCET 2025 Answer Key objection window on May 29, 2025. Candidates can raise objections against Agriculture & Pharmacy course answer key through the official website of AP EAMCET at The AP EAPCET answer key for the Agriculture & Pharmacy course was released on May 27, 2025. The objection window will close at 5 pm today. To raise objections against the answer key candidates can follow the steps given below. 1. Visit the official website of AP EAMCET at 2. Click on AP EAMCET 2025 Answer Key objection window link available on the home page. 3. A new page will open where candidates will have to enter the login details. 4. Click on submit and your answer key will be displayed. 5. Check the answer key and raise objections against it. 6. Make the payment of processing fee and download the confirmation page. 7. Keep a hard copy of the same for further need. The AP EAMCET was conducted on May 19 and 20 for Agriculture and Pharmacy streams, and on May 21 and 27, 2025, for the Engineering stream. The exam was held in two sessions every day - from 9.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M. and 2.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M., through the Online mode only. The results are tentatively scheduled for June 14, 2025.
