Canadiens sign defenceman Jayden Struble to two-year contract
The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenceman Jayden Struble to a two-year contract worth US$2.825 million, general manager Kent Hughes announced Monday morning. Struble scored two goals and had 11 assists in 56 games last season with the Habs. The Cumberland, Rhode Island, native also posted a plus-2 rating, served 52 penalty minutes and delivered 124 hits, ranking fifth on the team in that category (tied with Jake Evans). The 23-year-old defenceman also played two playoff games against the Washington Capitals. Since making his NHL debut in 2023-24, Struble has scored five goals and 18 assists in 112 games with the Canadiens. He has also served 109 penalty minutes.
