Jenna Bush Hager Finds Her Joy in Family, Faith — and Her Favorite Household Chore
Morning TV star Jenna Bush Hager is super-busy these days as a wife, mother of three, host of the fourth hour of Today, podcaster, book club creator and bestselling children's book author, but she always finds time for joy — and the surprising chore that helps her find it. Here in her own words are how she balances her life … and how you can do the same! 'We're never going to hear anybody's voice as loudly as our own and we've all had moments when we say cruel things to ourselves about the way we look. We need to change the way we speak to ourselves. If you find yourself talking negatively, just say, 'That's not true.' It's also important to focus more on how we feel than how we look. Saying kind things to ourselves truly changes how we feel.' 'My biggest stress buster is so bizarre — I love to vacuum. I inherited that from my mother. My husband's like, 'You do not need to vacuum. There's barely a crumb.' And I'm like, 'This is my joy!' It totally relaxes me. I've also learned so much from Hoda Kotb, who always chooses joy, optimism and kindness, even when things are hard.' 'My family and I love the simple joy of being outside in the summer. I enjoy taking the kids to the park or painting outside with them. Summertime is about pausing the busyness, being together and enjoying nature. During 'me' time, I especially like recharging by reading books or walking outside and listening to music — I could do that for hours!' 'I get my strength from my faith and my family, knowing that at the end of every day, no matter what, I still get to be a mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend makes me so grateful.' 'Every day, I make a 'tea' with hot water, lemon, honey and ginger. I drink this in the morning — even in the summer because it's freezing in the A/C — and find it's the easiest way to drink a lot of water before I even start my day. I'm also really into putting a sprinkle of salt or an electrolyte packet into my water. I'm obsessed. It makes me feel more hydrated and energetic instantly.'

Hoda Kotb on wellness company Joy 101 and starting over at 60
A week before Hoda Kotb debuts her wellness company, Joy 101, she's in a haze of unrelenting meetings to secure sponsors, experts and more employees. 'It's stuff you don't think about. 'Who's going to do the frequently asked questions?'' Kotb, 60, says. 'All this stuff that goes into websites and apps and events.' Ahead of her company's launch on May 28 she was 'nervous' but 'ready.' 'I'm hopeful, and I'm also proud that we did something,' she says. 'We're not just talking about it. Something's going to be put out into the world. Is it going to be perfect? I doubt it, but it's going to be really good.' Kotb departed her 'Today' anchor chair on Jan. 10, the same day she bid adieu to 'Today with Hoda & Jenna,' culminations of her decades-long NBC career which began in 1998 at 'Dateline.' Craig Melvin replaced Kotb on NBC's morning news program while Jenna Bush Hager has entertained a revolving door of celebrity guests on 'Today with Jenna & Friends.' Kotb revealed in an interview at the start of a wellness weekend she hosted with 'Today' in October that a whisper nudged her to leave her former posts. 'In different forms, it was saying, 'You're an adventurer,'' she said, adding that she also longed for more time with daughters, Haley Joy, 8, and Hope Catherine, 6. 'It was saying, 'What's this next chapter? It was (asking), have you done it all?'' Kotb first mentioned a desire to get into the wellness space when we'd connected in March of 2024 to talk about her children's book, 'Hope is a Rainbow.' 'I am dreaming about one day starting a kind of, sort of wellness, mind, body, spirit movement sort of thing,' she said timidly with a smile. She'd recently began a breath work practice and had an emotional breakthrough in her office the day prior. 'I laid on the ground with a breath works person on Zoom, and I was blubbering, after five minutes,' she said. 'It's just like a release.' After the first session daughter Haley noticed a shift and told Kotb, 'You seem different.' Kotb says, 'They were calling me 'Calm Mom' and laughing.' Kotb says she routinely mediates in the morning and again around 2 p.m. before picking her kids up from school in her cherished minivan. She says she's gained perspective and feels more energized. 'I always was one to exercise my stress away, and that works, to a point,' Kotb says. 'But when you wake up again, the next day, there it is again. 'I got to outrun this. If I don't run, all my stress is going to come get me.' You're constantly like on the run from your stress. And then you're realizing, like, 'Well, what is it? Let's try to unload the stress.'' An insatiable curiosity about wellness and a desire to share all she's learned motivated Kotb to start Joy 101, which offers an app and events that aim to enhance the lives of its users, with a tailor-made program. Users can preorder the app, which goes live on June 11 and costs $16.99 for a monthly subscription or $99 for the year. 'Everybody seems really tired, and everybody seems like they've got more than they can carry and there's too much on their plate and it's like, 'Not one more thing!'' Kotb says. 'That's what I even found myself (saying), like, 'There's no more room. I'm tapped out. There's not room to pile one more thing on.' This is designed to take things off your plate.' Hoda Kotb returns to host 'Today' with Jenna Bush Hager: What to know On the app, Kotb provides a daily dose of her optimism and wisdom and greets users with a 21-day course, in which she shares life lessons. Kotb has also curated additional research-backed classes and wellness sessions focused on topics like brain health, breath work, mindfulness, personal growth and sleep. Membership includes two livestreams per month with Kotb and her trusted wellness experts. The first occurs on June 11 with Savannah Guthrie and Bush Hager. Users are also given early access to retreats and events, which Kotb says she's really leaning into. During October's regenerative weekend Kotb shared with attendees that before diving into wellness, she 'felt like I was carrying around a heavy backpack for so long and didn't know it.' During her journey, 'the backpack got emptied and I started feeling lighter and better.' At 60, she said, 'I feel better today than I have in decades.' Kotb says the biggest revelation she's realized 'is that you can be a beginner again at 60.' 'It taught me that the learning process is unending, and it showed me that anyone who says they're stuck in their ways is because they're choosing to be stuck in their ways,' Kotb says. 'You can evolve; you can change. You can see the world totally differently. You could try something brand new and risky. You can say goodbye to something that was the safest and most extraordinary career in the world.' Maybe that feels jarring to anyone who fears change or the unknown. Kotb grew up 'in a home of optimism,' as she put it in 2024. 'When I was playing a basketball game, and we were down 5 points with 15 seconds, (my mom) believed that it was possible to win, and therefore I believed.' Hoda Kotb's favorite question is 'tell me more.' Now she shares what's next. Her breast cancer diagnosis in 2007 minimized things that previously felt scary or overwhelming, and she didn't allow rejection or criticism to hijack her hope. 'I was constantly rejected,' she previously said. 'The guys didn't like me; I didn't get the job. It didn't crush me. I didn't feel devastated. I was like, 'Ohh that's how it goes but also something, I think, good will happen.' 'Stop worrying about the odds,' Kotb says. 'Stop worrying about all that stuff, because if you think about the odds, you'll do nothing, ever.' And Just Like That star makes drug revelation about US President George W Bush's daughters
And Just Like That star Armin Amiri revealed he once smoked a joint with the daughters of U.S. president George W. Bush - and then hit them up for immigration help when stoned. The Iranian-born actor revealed he was once a doorman of the since-shuttered, celebrity-frequented hotspot, Bungalow 8, in New York City, when he met the first daughters. He didn't even know who twins Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager were when they showed up at the hotspot during their widely publicized party days in the early noughties, he told Page Six. The twins, now 43, were continuously in the news for partying and underage drinking at the time. 'The first time I didn't let 'em in and I didn't know who they were,' he recalled. 'I got a tap on my shoulder, and it was the Secret Service. 'And he goes, 'Hey man.' I said, 'Hey.' And he goes, 'These are the First Daughters.' I said, 'First daughters of whom?'' He said he 'took care of it right away' and led the women inside to a table. He recalled how, at one point, he asked them for a favor while under the influence. 'I remember I needed my green card. So, we smoked a joint together and I was just like, 'Listen, I'm having a green card problem.'' He said one of them said they would 'speak to someone' but joked that 'nothing ever happened.' He recalled how he had to go back to work but ended up finding the women again at the end of the night to offer to comp their dinner. He said one of the sisters told him: 'Honey, don't even worry about it. We're used to these kind of things.' Amiri — who stars in HBO Max's continuation of Sex and The City as movie director Ravi Gordi, the love interest of Sarita Choudhury's character Seema Patel — said he ended up smoking a joint with them and asked them for help with his green card. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. He said he also ran into former U.S. President Bill Clinton and former United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at one point and asked them for the same favor. On Wednesday, the TV star told the story about meeting Bush's twin daughters, now both 43, ahead of the upcoming premiere of AJLT's season three on May 29. 'The first time I didn't let 'em in and I didn't know who they were,' he recalled. 'I got a tap on my shoulder, and it was the Secret Service. 'And he goes, 'Hey man.' I said, 'Hey.' And he goes, 'These are the first daughters.' I said, 'First daughters of whom?''; pictured May 2008 He recalled how he had to go back to work but ended up finding the women again at the end of the night to offer to comp their dinner. He said one of the sisters told him: 'Honey, don't even worry about it. We're used to these kind of things'; pictured January 2019 in New York City Then, Amiri recalled how he later went up to Bush's predecessor Bill Clinton for help on his green card too. 'I walked up to Bill Clinton and I said, 'Bill, I need my green card.' 'And he says, 'Talk to my wife.' Amiri explained that their conversation ultimately resulted in the same thing yet again. 'So they're like, 'Hey, listen, we'll do our best to take care of it for you.' 'Nothing happened,' he explained.

Jenna Bush Hager on the Jet Lag Cure She's Used Since College—Plus, the Caribbean Island She's ‘Obsessed' With
Even though Today Show host Jenna Bush Hager is a celebrity with presidential lineage, she shares a common travel fear with many of us: lost luggage. As a result, she has become an extremely efficient and strategic packer—she will even stick to only a carry-on for a long trip. 'I like to always pack in a carry-on. Even when we left last summer for two weeks, I traveled with a carry-on because I'm always in fear my bag will get lost.' Travel + Leisure caught up with Bush Hager on her impressive packing strategy, her favorite trips to take with her family, and the jet lag cure she has been using since college. Her fear of lost luggage has led her on a quest to find products that can serve her in multiple ways. 'As I travel, I feel like I want products that do multiple things because I like to always pack in a carry-on.' She noted the CC+ Cream Foundation from IT Cosmetics, a brand she recently partnered with for a campaign, as an example of this—the product does triple duty with SPF, skincare ingredients, and coverage. Jenna with the IT Cosmetics Do It All Radiant Concealer. So does she have room in her carry-on for anything unexpected? 'A set of matching pajamas for a girls' trip. I like to bring a PJ so we can all match,' she said. Perhaps her love of matching pajama sets stems from being a twin. Bush Hager and her sister were freshmen in college in 2001 when their father, George W. Bush, became president of the United States. As the granddaughters of George Bush, who served as president from 1989 to 1993, they were used to being in the public eye, but being daughters of the president brought their fame to a whole new level. Though some of their teenage antics received a lot of press attention, Bush Hager did pick up some great travel habits during her college and First Daughter years as she traveled a lot—and even Air Force One trips can leave you jet lagged. Window or aisle seat? Window. What's your go-to plane activity? Reading. What's your go-to travel outfit? Comfortable cotton pants, a t-shirt, and a nice sweater. What's an item you cannot travel without? The IT Cosmetics Do It All Radiant Concealer. It's the one beauty product I always keep in my bag on travel days and just gives me that extra boost of confidence when I need it, especially if I'm tired from traveling. Best jet lag cure you've picked up over the years? Exercise and water. 'One thing that I always do when I get off a long flight is move my body because it helps with jet lag. I've done this since I was in college and would travel far away. I also drink a lot of water because I always feel a little dehydrated when I fly. Every time you fly, for every hour you're on the plane, it's recommended to have that many glasses of water. I believe in salt packs or hydration powders, so I travel with those. I travel with Vitamin C and other extracts, which make me feel better. I would say movement, Vitamin D, and a ton of hydration is key.' She also adds that when you try to get your body moving post-flight, especially on a walk or a jog, you get the bonus of on-the-ground exposure to a new destination, and you can see things you may not have otherwise. As soon as she gets to her hotel, she also unpacks for herself and her children, daughters Mila and Poppy and son Hal. She loves traveling with her family, including husband Henry Chase Hager, but she makes it clear that traveling is different than a vacation . 'I love when it's traveling and not a vacation, so as long as that's the expectation—that you get to show them other cultures and get to take them to places that show them how big and beautiful the world is and know you're not going to be lounging by the pool with a book,' she told T+L. In 2023, the whole family went to Normandy, France, and she said the best day of the trip was when they took the children to the American cemetery in Normandy. As for their next trips, she wants to take them to the other side of the world. 'I've never been, but I would love to take them to Australia and New Zealand, but I'd also have to have more than a week off to do that.' Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb with special guest Andy Cohen on an episode of the Today Show. Nathan Congleton/NBC via Getty Images While some trips are all about on-the-go exploration, Bush Hager also loves a relaxing vacation and was recently surprised by a trip to Nevis in the Caribbean. 'I thought I would love it, but I didn't know how much I would love it. Nevis, which is a small island in the Caribbean, is located outside of St. Martin. I was obsessed with it because I felt like it had incredible food. It had hiking, which I love. It had a ton of beautiful activities, and yet it isn't wildly touristy. It's still kind of off the beaten track. It's so beautiful, and it has all the things you would think about in a Caribbean island—the beaches, the snorkeling—but it also has culture and delicious food.' Hopefully, once they announce the new Today Show co-host, Bush Hager can get some time off and take a well-deserved vacation and travel with her family.

Jenna Bush Hager candidly unveils birthmark on live TV after revealing a boy once DUMPED her over it
Jenna Bush Hager defiantly celebrated her birthmark by revealing it live on air – decades after she was dumped by a boy because of it. The 43-year-old Today show host had been speaking to Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday's program about the new 'diaper shorts' fashion trend when she got onto the topic of the blemish on her leg. Before showing off her birthmark, mom-of-three Jenna admitted that she would restrain from wearing shorts that would expose too much of her thigh out so that it would remain hidden. 'I don't know if I ever told you this, but I had a boyfriend who broke up with me in the seventh grade when he saw me in a bathing suit because of my birthmark,' she said. 'That is outrageous,' Savannah, 53, quipped. Jenna continued: 'I know, it gave me a lot of PTS (post-traumatic stress). 'So then, I had a rule where the shorts had to basically cover the birthmark. So long story short, I couldn't wear the diaper shorts.' 'Have you ever talked about your birthmark before on the air?' Savannah asked, which in turn prompted Jenna to reveal her birthmark to the cameras. 'Okay this is actually me reclaiming that time,' she proudly declared as she jumped out of her seat and rolled up her shorts. 'Never thought I'd do that, but here we go,' she added, before revealing the birthmark on her thigh. Viewers commended Jenna for celebrating it, while also sharing their own stories. Commenting on YouTube, one said: 'I have a red birthmark on the back of my neck and I have had rude people snicker and say it's a hickey. 'I used to be so self-conscious about it, but I'm 64 now and I don't care anymore, lol.' Another said: 'Love that you were proud to show your beautiful birthmark you are beautiful inside and out.' 'I had a birthmark on my hip but as I've gotten older it seems to have faded away,' a third wrote. After the milestone moment, Savannah complimented her friend. But Jenna reclaimed her birthmark and lifted her shorts to reveal it in all its glory 'Can I say something?' she said. 'Your legs look awesome.' 'Thank you,' Jenna replied. A birthmark is a blemish on the skin that is present at birth or develops in the first few weeks of life. The type of birthmark depends on the main cells involved. Most include melanin collected in one area to create a different color to the rest of the body. Vascular birthmarks consist of vessels that have not formed properly and can look reddish or blue. Most birthmarks are caused by a change in a gene during early pregnancy when skin and blood vessels are forming. Jenna has been married to Henry Hager since 2008 and the couple share three children together - Mila, 13; Poppy, nine; and Hal, five. She has spoken many times about her ex-boyfriends in past episodes of the Today show, including the painfully awkward moment her parents threw her and her twin sister a surprise birthday – only for her to walk into the event and realize that they'd invited several of her exes.
