Aasiya Kazi returns to TV after two years with Ishani

Aasiya Kazi Aasiya Kazi, who was last seen in Janam Janam Ka Saath, is all set to return to television after a two-year hiatus. She has been cast to play the role of Nandini in Ishani, a spin-off series of Jhanak. The show features Megha Chakraborty in the title role, while Karamm S Rajpal has joined as the male lead. A source associated with the show shared, 'Aasiya will portray Nandini, a pivotal character who will play a significant role in shaping the lives of the entire family. Her entry will bring a major twist to the storyline. The character has multiple shades and is different from the kind of roles Aasiya has played in the past. It's a long-running character that will be responsible for driving several interesting plot developments. Her entry is scheduled to air in tonight's episode.' Aasiya could not be reached for comment. The actress was on a break from work to enjoy her marital life. She tied the knot with actor Gulshan Nain in November last year in an intimate ceremony after being in a relationship for eight years. Aasiya has consciously stayed away from television during this period. There were mainly two reasons behind this decision — one, she was looking for roles that were different and substantial, and two, she wanted to devote time to her new phase in life and cherish the early days of marriage with her family. Ishani marks her first acting project post-marriage. Known for being selective about the roles she takes up, Aasiya became a household name with her portrayal of Santu in Bandini (2009–2011). Over the years, she has been a part of several popular shows, including Matti Ki Banno, Dharampatni, Hitler Didi, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha 2, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Balika Vadhu, and Tenali Rama.

Is TV Show Jhanak Ending? Arjit Taneja Sets The Record Straight

Arjit Taneja, the lead actor of Jhanak, has expressed his disappointment over ongoing rumours about the show going off air. You must be living under a rock if you have not heard rumours of Star Plus' show, Jhanak, going off air. The show, which underwent a significant transformation with a 20-year leap and a new cast, including Arjit Taneja, Riya Sharma and Twinkle Arora, was at the centre of the buzz. Now, the lead actor has stepped in to quash the rumours. In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Arjit Taneja opened up about the negativity surrounding Jhanak's rumoured conclusion. 'Seeing people celebrate #Jhanak going off air is sad. A show supports 150+ jobs. I know as fans there could be a lot of things one isn't satisfied with, but actors do their best with the given content, but we don't control it," he wrote. Arjit acknowledged that while fans may have their reservations about the show, actors strive to deliver their best despite limitations. 'Lift each other up, don't cheer lows. Also, show's NOT ending, just shifting time slots. No show deserves negativity," he emphasised. Take a look here: Although Star Plus hasn't officially announced the new time slot, industry insiders suggest that Jhanak will continue airing, just at a later time, as part of the channel's programming changes. The buzz around the upcoming premiere of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which is set to take over the 10:30 PM slot. This added to the confusion and led many to believe that Jhanak was ending. In the current storyline, Jhanak and Aditi are getting closer, which is causing problems for Rishi. While Rishi tries to distance Aditi from Jhanak, Aditi becomes even more determined to support her friend. The emotional tension builds as Jhanak is about to reveal a shocking secret about Rishi – something that could completely change the relationship between all three characters. view comments First Published: July 11, 2025, 19:01 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
