Ranchi: The district unit of Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has issued show-cause notices to nine private schools for not attending a meeting on the implementation of Right to Education (RTE). The meeting, held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, focused on ensuring 25% enrolment of children from below poverty Line (BPL) families in private schools, as mandated under the RTE Act. On Wednesday, the district superintendent of education issued official letters to absent schools seeking clarification for their unexplained absence. 35k govt schools to be assessed under NIPUN campaigns in J'khand

1 2 Ranchi: The Jharkhand Education Project Council on Tuesday launched a state-wide campaign titled 'Mera Vidyalaya NIPUN and Main Bhi NIPUN' to enhance foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) outcomes among students in primary classes. The campaign targets around eight lakh students enrolled in Classes I to III across 35,000 govt schools in the state. In the first phase of the campaign, 1,056 schools were assessed from July 21 to 26. Master trainers (MTs) and resource persons carried out the evaluations using a dedicated online app, utilising school-provided tablets or personal smartphones. From August to December, the MTs conducted evaluations and certifications across their respective blocks and districts. Initial assessments began with schools that have at least two teachers, while single-teacher schools will be included later to allow them more time to prepare. Monthly data collection and reporting will be carried out at the district level to track progress. State programme officer for quality education, Abhinav Kumar, said, "The strategy for this campaign has been developed as a continuation of the NIPUN Bharat Mission and is focused on improving the learning outcomes in foundational grades." The campaign's objectives included structured efforts on various FLN components, evaluation of schools, assessment of progress in student learning, and recognition of high-performing schools and students.

7 dists face heat for failing to upload student enrolment data

1 2 Ranchi: The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to seven underperforming districts for failing to update data related to the School Chalo Abhiyan 2025 and enrolment of out-of-school children. The decision came after a review meeting chaired by administrative officer Sachidanand D. Tigga in the morning. Under the primary direct enrolment module, districts such as Giridih, Hazaribag, Khunti and Lohardaga were found to have zero enrolment data, and therefore show-cause notices were issued to these districts. At the secondary level, Chatra, Pakur, and West Singhbhum have been issued show-cause notices. According to officials, enrolment data from Palamu and Seraikela-Kharsawan under the School Chalo Abhiyan was unsatisfactory. Both districts have been directed to upload 100% updated data by July 10, failing which strict administrative action will follow. So far, the campaign has enrolled 1,38,945 children, including 4,019 children with special needs (CwSN). The meeting also reviewed the state's achievement of re-enrolling 26,741 children at the primary level and 8,529 at the secondary level who were previously out of school or dropped out. Tigga instructed officials to conduct random sample verification of district data and ensure that all information is uploaded on the UDISE portal by the end of July. The review of Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) revealed that over 12,273 schools have not uploaded PTM-related data. Tigga said, "Any subject where more than 20% of students have failed in the Matric and Intermediate board exams will lead to action against the subject teacher." He instructed districts to compile and submit names of such teachers to the department for further evaluation. The JEPC also announced the reactivation of Special Training Centres for out-of-school children, starting in July. District-level officers, trained as master trainers, will oversee the centres.

JEPC implements bridge course to reintegrate dropout students

1 2 Ranchi: The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has implemented a structured bridge course programme across the state aimed at reintegrating children who dropped out of school or were never enrolled. The bridge course curriculum has been designed and divided into two parts — Part I for Classes I to V and Part II for Classes VI to VIII, based on the academic stage at which the child is being re-enrolled. The state project director at JEPC Shashi Ranjan said, "The initiative is part of the efforts to ensure access to education under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and is focused on bridging the academic gaps in children's learning journey." So far, around 59,000 children have been brought back into the education system through the 'Back to School' campaign. To support this reintegration, the bridge course is being implemented with the help of trained teachers and resource persons, who will conduct special remedial classes and assessments for the enrolled children. As per the Shishu Panji survey, 43,250 were from Classes I to VIII, and 15,844 were from secondary levels. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo The count included 24,649 dropouts and 18,601 children who were never enrolled. The curriculum has been developed to be flexible, inclusive, and responsive to individual learning paces, enabling each child to progress with confidence. " JEPC has also begun the development of special training modules tailored for out-of-school children. To facilitate this, a four-day residential workshop was organised in the first phase from June 23 to June 26. The workshop was conducted for the subject-wise teachers and resource persons, emphasising design content for the bridge modules. Participants were directed to attend the workshop with textbooks from Classes I to VIII of their respective subjects. JEPC to hold camps for differently abled kids

1 2 3 Ranchi: The Jharkhand Education Project Council would screen divyang (disabled) children and hold distribution camps of aids and appliances for them under the 'Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase - Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (ADIP-SSA)' scheme. The initiative will be carried out in two phases. In the first phase, screening and assessment camps will be held between July 3 and September 19. In the second phase, distribution of the assistive materials will take place from December 2025 to February 2026. Districts and blocks have been directed to identify and mobilise all disabled children up to 12 years of age, who require assistive devices. State project director Shashi Ranjan said, "District and block-level personnel will be responsible for compiling the data and ensuring eligible children attend the camp." Children attending the camps are required to bring specific documents including a recent passport-size photograph, a photocopy of their disability certificate, UDID card or registration number, Aadhaar card (of the child or their parent/guardian), and an income certificate. In cases where the income certificate is unavailable, it may be obtained from the village mukhia.
