The video also shows Karthik, who has been on commentary duties in the ongoing series, speaking to someone over his phone (probably Jitesh) and signing a few autographs before heading back in. Despite the victory, they have been docked a couple of points on the World Test Championship (WTC) tally for slow over-rate. The hosts have also been fined 10 per cent of their match fee after the Test, which they won by 22 runs on Monday. 'In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time," the ICC said in a statement. 'In addition, as per Article 16.11.2 of the ICC World Test Championship playing conditions, a side is penalised one point for each over short. Consequently, two World Test Championship points have been deducted from England's points total," it added. England's tally in the World Test Championship standings dropped from 24 to 22 out of 36 points, consequently reducing their point percentage (PCT) from 66.67 per cent to 61.11 per cent. Though Jitesh Sharma remained in Vidarbha's white-ball squads under Karun Nair, opportunities in red-ball cricket dried up. Wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma is set to part ways with Vidarbha after representing the team in domestic cricket for more than a decade. He will turn up for Baroda in the upcoming season. The 31-year-old didn't play a single Ranji Trophy match in 2024-25, warming the bench behind Vidarbha skipper and first-choice keeper Akshay Wadkar. Though he remained in their white-ball squads under Karun Nair, opportunities in red-ball cricket dried up. According to ESPN Cricinfo, the move to Baroda had been in the works for a while, and his good rapport with Baroda captain Krunal Pandya played a role in facilitating the transfer. Both of them won a maiden IPL title for Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this year. The shift is expected to open the door for Jitesh to revive his red-ball career. Since debuting for Vidarbha in 2015-16, the keeper-batter has played just 18 first-class matches, averaging 24.48 with four fifties. His last red-ball appearance came nearly 18 months ago.
