Jobe Bellingham on brink of £25m move to Dortmund from Sunderland
Jobe Bellingham is on the brink of completing a move to Borussia Dortmund that could be worth more than £25million to Sunderland. Bellingham, 19, has been a target for three German clubs since helping Sunderland return to the Premier League with a dramatic Championship play-off victory against Sheffield United at Wembley. He met officials from Eintracht Frankfurt last week and spoke to representatives from RB Leipzig. However, his intention was always to follow the path of his brother, Jude, who moved to Dortmund in 2020 at the age of 17. Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund's sporting director, flew to Ibiza to meet Jobe, who is on theBalearic island with Jude for his summer holiday, and that appears to have been conclusive. Bellingham confirmed his decision to join Dortmund on Monday and discussions between Sunderland and Kehl about a transfer fee have been continuing since. Sunderland's capture of Enzo Le Fée on a permanent deal from Roma was concluded on Tuesday afternoon. The fee for the 25-year-old French midfielder, who initially joined the club on loan in January, could rise to £20million. Bellinham's exit could be confirmed soon. He moved to the Stadium of Light from Birmingham City for £3million two years ago and had a release clause of about £33million in his contract. It is thought that an there was agreement between Bellingham and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, the Sunderland owner, for that fee to be reduced to about £21million after the club's promotion. With future add-ons, the initial fee could rise by more than £5million. Dortmund want the transfer completed before the first of the summer's two transfer windows closes on June 10. That would allow them to play the central midfielder at the Club World Cup, where they face Fluminense, Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan in group F. Bellingham, who has four England Under-21 caps, had been named in Lee Carsley's squad for the European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia, which starts on June 11. However, it is now likely he will miss that tournament along with Liam Delap, who is set to join Chelsea from Ipswich Town, to take part in Club World Cup in the United States. Birmingham are thought to have a sell-on clause that entitles them to 15 per cent of any future sale involving Bellingham. Bellingham was a key part of the Sunderland side who were promoted back to the Premier League for the first time since 2017, scoring four goals and claiming three assists in 43 matches. His all-round game has developed under Régis Le Bris, the Sunderland head coach, with the player adopting a deeper, holding role in midfield during the crunch play-off games. Dortmund had a dramatic end to the season, winning seven of their final eight Bundesliga games to finish fourth and secure a place in next season's Champions League. Sunderland have also sold their play-off final hero Tommy Watson to Brighton & Hove Albion for £10million in a deal that was agreed in April.

Borussia Dortmund confident of completing Jobe Bellingham signing from Sunderland
Borussia Dortmund are increasingly confident of signing Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland despite interest from Eintracht Frankfurt. As yet, there is no agreement between Dortmund and Sunderland over a transfer fee, but sources close to the deal, speaking on condition of anonymity, were confident that a deal would be struck. Advertisement Jobe is set to emulate his older brother, Jude Bellingham, by making the move to the German team. Jude moved to Dortmund for £20million in 2020 from Birmingham City, aged 17. Jobe played a key role in Sunderland's promotion to the Premier League during the 2024-25 campaign. Deployed in defensive and box-to-box midfield roles by head coach Regis Le Bris, he made 43 appearances and played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 play-off final victory over Sheffield United. After the play-off final, Jobe and his parents travelled to Germany to meet with officials at Frankfurt, including head coach Dino Toppmoller and sporting director Markus Krosche, having previously toured the club's facilities in the weeks before. The meeting is said to have gone well; Frankfurt have developed an excellent reputation in their own right for developing young players. But Dortmund have been staging their own charm offensive. Head coach Niko Kovac, sporting director Sebastian Kehl and CEO for sport Lars Ricken all visited Jobe in England at the end of April, with CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke also travelling to the north east on a separate visit. Most recently, in a show of Dortmund's commitment, Kehl flew to Ibiza, where the Bellingham family were on holiday, to further state his club's case. Like his older brother, Jobe came through Birmingham's academy and went on to make 26 first-team appearances. Sunderland signed the then-17-year-old midfielder in the summer of 2023, on the same day Jude signed for Real Madrid. Brentford were interested in signing the teenager last summer, as were Crystal Palace, but Jobe instead signed a contract extension last August, extending his terms until the summer of 2028. Sunderland return to the Premier League next season for the first time in nine years. They suffered back-to-back relegations after finishing the 2016-17 Premier League campaign in 20th position with 24 points. Jobe made 90 appearances for Sunderland, scoring 11 goals and assisting four. Additional reporting: Philip Buckingham

Dortmund confident of signing Jobe Bellingham
London, June 3 (UNI) Borussia Dortmund are confident of completing the signing of Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham. The 19-year-old has been the subject of major interest across Europe having helped Sunderland return to the Premier League for the first time since 2017. However, the German club believe they are now in pole position to secure Bellingham's signature. They are yet to open talks with Sunderland but have received strong indications Bellingham wants to follow in his brother Jude's footsteps by joining them and believe an agreement will eventually be reached. Dortmund's bargaining position has been strengthened considerably by a strong end to the season. With eight games left, Dortmund were 11th in the Bundesliga, 10 points adrift of a top-four spot. They won seven of their remaining matches, and drew the other at eventual champions Bayern Munich, to finish fourth and secure a place in next season's Champions League, the BBC reported. Dortmund signed Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City in 2020 and he made 132 appearances in a three-year stint with the club, winning the German Cup alongside Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho in 2021. However, he missed out on the Bundesliga title immediately before joining Real Madrid in 2023. He was injured and watched the team draw with Mainz on the final day of the 2022-23 season, when victory would have seen Dortmund crowned champions for the first time in 11 years. Jobe Bellingham was named the Championship's Young Player of the Year last month - five years after Jude won the award. He was also named in the Championship team of the season before helping Sunderland beat Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final. UNI BM
