Sophie Monk's husband Josh Gross reveals what it's REALLY like to be married to one of Australia's most famous women

Sophie Monk 's husband Josh Gross has opened up about what life is really like when your partner is one of the most recognisable faces in the country. The American-born tech entrepreneur, who married the Love Island host in 2022, told Daily Mail Australia he's happily embraced life in the background – swapping boardrooms for beach shoots and robotics for red carpets. 'I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. One minute I'm working from home, next I'm on the Gold Coast filming a movie or in Spain filming Love Island,' Josh began. 'Life with Soph is never dull and I wouldn't change a thing.' Josh, who met Sophie on a long-haul flight from Europe to Australia in 2018, said the transition into fame-by-association wasn't something he planned. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I don't really live my life in the spotlight. That's the beauty of being behind the camera. I've always liked it that way, supporting from the background and capturing the moments,' he said. While he prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Josh has unwittingly become a familiar face on red carpets and social media – often spotted snapping glamorous photos of his famous wife. 'Sophie is incredibly beautiful and photogenic, so if the photo isn't great, it's on me,' he quipped. 'She's got a sixth sense for her best side, and I've got a mental checklist every time I pull out the phone. Lighting matters – golden hour is magic,' he said. 'Don't be afraid to crouch, climb or contort to get the shot. With the right phone camera, you can nail it on the first try – and rack up serious brownie points too.' He also revealed a little known fact about his reality TV star wife. 'What you see is what you get with Soph... I think she's a lot funnier than what people realise. She's my best friend and we laugh a lot,' Josh said. Despite the scrutiny that often comes with dating a celebrity, Josh says the public have only ever shown warmth towards Sophie – and to him by extension. While he prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Josh has unwittingly become a familiar face on red carpets and social media – often spotted snapping glamorous photos of his famous wife Sophie and Joshua wed in a private ceremony at their Central Coast, NSW home in 2022. Speaking to Stellar Magazine, Sophie called the small wedding 'beautiful and relaxed'. She added that she chose to have a wedding at home to keep things 'stress-free' while Joshua called their private home 'our sanctuary' and was glad to make wedding memories that will last a lifetime there. Another reason they chose to have a wedding on their own was because Sophie was happy to keep the guest list to a bare minimum. 'We figured, if you don't invite one person, then no-one could get upset,' she told Stellar. She designed her own dress, and gave J'Aton Couture just two weeks to create it based off her own sketches. The couple first met on a flight from Europe to Australia in August 2018 and shared a kiss after enjoying 'three champagnes' in business class.

Sophie Monk's husband Josh Gross says he quit his job to support her TV career: 'She's one of the most beautiful women in the world'

He's the man who quietly stands behind one of Australia's most recognisable stars. And now Sophie Monk 's husband Josh Gross has revealed he quit his job to fully support her booming television career – and he wouldn't have it any other way. In a rare interview, the tech entrepreneur opened up about stepping away from his work in medical robotics last year to focus on being Sophie's full-time cheerleader, admitting the move has brought them even closer as a couple. 'I'm a cheerleader, which is real fun for me,' he told The Daily Telegraph. 'Soph has been doing what she's doing for over 25 years now … I'm sort of behind the scenes, and it works really well for us. I think it would be extremely difficult for couples that are sort of both in the limelight.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Josh, who married the Love Island host in 2022 after years of keeping their relationship largely out of the spotlight, says the couple are still in a blissful bubble, living a laid-back life on the NSW Central Coast. 'It's been over seven years now, and we're still in our sort of little honeymoon bubble up there,' he said. 'It's lovely, just the two of us and our two golden retrievers now.' While Sophie continues to front major projects including Love Island Australia and the new Love Island USA after-show, Josh is often spotted nearby - usually holding a phone to take fan photos of his famous wife. 'There's a lot of pressure when you're photographing one of the most beautiful women in the world,' he joked while promoting Samsung's new Galaxy S25 Edge. 'Fans don't often even know that I'm the husband. They just sort of start jamming their phones in my hand, and I'll just stand there for 10 minutes and take photos.' Despite the scrutiny that often comes with dating a celebrity, Josh says the public have only ever shown warmth towards Sophie – and to him by extension.
