CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD Director Reveals a Wild Scrapped Scene With Red Hulk — GeekTyrant
Captain America: Brave New World was not a huge hit with fans, but it had a few fun moments we never thoughts we'd see, including Harrison Ford joining the MCU and turning into the raging Red Hulk. But that transformation could have been even wilder if the director had chosen to go with an early idea, based on the comics. During a recent interview with JoBlo Celebrity Access (via /Film), the film's director Julius Onah revealed that at one point in the filmmaking process, there were plans for Red Hulk to have a gun. He explained, "There was a point in time, actually, it didn't make the movie, where Red Hulk, arcing back to publishing, wielded a gun, and it just didn't feel quite right for the actual movie." While this would be comic book accurate, it does sound silly. Anyone can use a gun, but not just anyone, even in the MCU, can turn into a powerful Hulk. It seems like he doesn't need another advantage when he's in that state of being, and it doesn't sound like it would have brought anything to the movie to save it from the negative response. What do you think? Would you have liked to have seen Red Hulk bust out a giant gun?

‘Captain America: Brave New World' Ends Theater Run. How Much Did It Make?
Anthony Mackie in "Captain America: Brave New World." Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford's Captain America Brave New World has ended its domestic theater run. How much did it gross? The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie opened in theaters on Feb. 14 and made its digital streaming debut on April 15. Captain America: Brave New World will arrive on streaming on Disney+ this week. The official logline for the film reads, 'In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam (Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Ford). He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.' Rated PG-13, Captain America: Brave New World also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson. The film is directed by Julius Onah. As indicated by The Numbers' latest weekly theater count list, Captain America Brave New World ended its domestic theatrical run on Thursday, when it made $173 from 30 North American theaters to bring its domestic tally to $200,500. Combined with the film's international take of $213,9140,120, Captain America: Brave New World had a worldwide box office gross of $413,640,021 against a $180 million budget before prints and advertising, according to The Numbers. So, does that mean Captain America Brave New World was a profitable film for Disney-Marvel? Not exactly, considering on average that 50% of the ticket sales for most films go to theater owners. On top of that, there are the costs of marketing the film, which for a blockbuster superhero adventure — or any tentpole movie, for that matter — isn't cheap. Disney has not released information on the film's marketing costs. Anthony Mackie on the set of "Captain America: Brave New World." While Captain America has now had four solo movies, the character has also appeared in other Marvel Cinematic Universe adventures, namely the Avengers movies. Some of Cap's fellow Avengers, though, have turned up in the Captain America movies, which in one case in particular had a huge effect on the film's box office. The first character to play Captain America was Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), who led the cast of Captain America: The First Avenger. Released on July 22, 2011, Captain America: The First Avenger grossed $176.6 million domestically and $193.9 million for a worldwide box office tally of $370.5 million against a $140 million production budget before prints and advertising costs, per The Numbers. Captain America: The Winter Soldier — in which Evans' Rogers/Cap first teamed up with Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon — was released on April 4, 2014. The film went on to earn $259.7 million domestically and nearly $454.7 million internationally for a global gross of $714.4 million against a $170 million production budget before P&A, per The Numbers. The highest-grossing Captain America movie by far, though, is Captain America: Civil War, which was released on May 6, 2016. The film was essentially an Avengers film where the fractured group split off into two factions. Captain America: Civil War not only featured Evans' Captain America but Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and several other Avengers stars. In addition, the film introduced Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther and Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Captain America: Civil War grossed $408 million domestically and $743.8 billion internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $1.151.8 billion against a $250 million production budget before P&A, per The Numbers. In total, the Captain America film series — including Captain America: Brave New World — has grossed $2.65 billion worldwide.

‘Captain America: Brave New World' Arrives On Disney+ This Week
Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford's Marvel movie Captain America: Brave New World is new on Disney+ this week. The fourth Captain America film in Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe debuted in theaters on Feb. 14 and pivoted to digital streaming on April 15. The logline for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe chapter reads, 'In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam (Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Ford). He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.' Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson. Per a YouTube announcement from Disney+ on May 13, Captain America: Brave New World will arrive on the streaming platform on Wednesday, May 28. For viewers who don't subscribe to the streaming service, the platform offers an ad-based Disney+ Basic plan for $9.99 per month and the ad-free Disney+ Premium plan for $15.99 per month or $159.99 per year. Disney+ is also available in bundling packages with the Hulu and Max streaming services. Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon handed the shield of Captain America from Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) at the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame in 2019 and began to transition into the role in the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Captain America: Brave New World finds Wilson fully taking up the mantle of Cap, but noted at the Disney APAC Content Showcase in Singapore in November that there are distinct differences between Sam and Steve's versions of the superhero. Among them, the actor noted, is that Sam wasn't given powers with the super soldier serum like his predecessor. 'It's very different with the serum — you can fight anybody,' Mackie further noted at the showcase (via Deadline). 'When you don't have the serum, you have to be smart and engineer different ways of defeating [enemies]. With Sam, him being a counselor, he uses more of his brains than brawn. He uses more of his wit than his fist. He's more of a friend to everyone.' Captain America: Brave New World arrives on Disney+ on Wednesday.
