KPI Green Energy secures ISTS Connectivity for 642.6 MW wind project in Gujarat
By Aman Shukla Published on May 20, 2025, 13:46 IST KPI Green Energy Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary Miyani Power Infra LLP, has received an in-principle grant of connectivity from the Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd. (CTUIL) for its 642.6 MW wind power project in Gujarat. This project is a part of the company's strategy to integrate large-scale renewable energy into the national power grid. The connectivity has been granted at the Jam Khambhaliya 400 kV substation in Gujarat. The project will be linked through a dedicated transmission line that shares the KPEL-Jam Khambhaliya PS 400kV single circuit line. This setup ensures compliance with the communication and technical standards laid out by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) and the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). The grant facilitates access to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) under the General Network Access (GNA) Regulations, 2022. This access is key to ensuring that the generated wind power can be transmitted efficiently beyond state boundaries, enabling broader distribution and integration into the national grid. By connecting to the ISTS, KPI Green Energy aims to improve market accessibility, support open access mechanisms, and enable participation in power exchanges. The development also plays a role in enhancing transmission infrastructure while supporting India's renewable energy goals. Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
