Giants sign free agent S K'Von Wallace
July 22 - The New York Giants signed free agent safety K'Von Wallace to a contract on Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed by the team for Wallace, who was with the Giants on a tryout basis during minicamp last month. Wallace, who turns 28 on Friday, played for Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen when the latter held that role with the Tennessee Titans in 2023. Wallace appeared in nine games (no starts) for the Seattle Seahawks last season and contributed 15 tackles and one forced fumble. He finished the season on injured reserve following an ankle injury in early November. A fourth-round pick by Philadelphia in 2020, Wallace has 168 tackles, eight passes defensed and one interception in 71 career games (19 starts) with the Eagles (2020-22), Arizona Cardinals (2023), Titans and Seahawks. --Field Level Media

The Giants have added a veteran defensive player at the start of training camp. New York announced on Tuesday that the club has signed safety K'Von Wallace. Wallace, 27, spent last season with the Seahawks. He appeared in nine games, recording 15 total tackles and a forced fumble. He was on the field for 21 percent of defensive snaps and 53 percent of special teams snaps in games played. An Eagles fourth-round pick in 2020, Wallace has appeared in 71 career games with 19 starts for Philadelphia, Arizona, Tennessee, and Seattle.

Wallace, who attended minicamp in June on a tryout basis, posted to social media a photo Tuesday of him signing a contract, and the team announced the deal not long after. It was not immediately clear what the corresponding roster move would be to add Wallace. The soon-to-be 28-year-old missed the second half of last season after injuring his right ankle Nov. 3 in Seattle's overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He made 15 tackles and forced a fumble during his nine games with the Seahawks before landing on injured reserve. Wallace is expected to compete for a reserve spot behind starters Jevon Holland and Tyler Nubin and could contribute on special teams. A fourth-round pick by Philadelphia in 2020 out of Clemson, Wallace spent his first three NFL seasons with the Eagles and has also played for Arizona and Tennessee. He has appeared in 75 regular-season and playoff games, starting 19 of them.
