'It's Always Sunny' cast has discussed ending series
The gang is in a never ending story. 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' has been on the air for a record 20 years, running for more seasons than any other live action sitcom. Now, star Glenn Howerton is weighing in on whether he sees an ending in sight. 'It's hard to say. It changes often, season to season,' he exclusively told The Post while promoting his new Netflix series, 'Sirens.' 7 Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Charlie Day in a Season 7 episode of 'It's Always Sunny' that aired in 2011. 7 Glenn Howerton, Milly Alcock and Meghann Fahy in the new Netflix show 'Sirens.' ©Netflix/Courtesy Everett Collection 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' premiered in 2005 on FX, following a group of narcissistic and sociopathic friends who run a dive bar in the titular city. There's Dennis (Howerton), his sister Dee (Kaitlin Olson), their father Frank (Danny DeVito) and their friends Charlie (Charlie Day) and Mac (Rob McElhenney). With two decades under its belt, does the show have a conclusion on the horizon? 'There are some seasons where we're like, 'Oh, I can't do this anymore.' But there are other seasons where everyone is just really stoked and excited to be there, and excited to get the opportunity to continue exploring these insane characters in this insane world,' Howerton explained. 'We were quite invigorated this year. So, I think we're just taking it year by year.' 7 Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton in 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.' Because that's when we are like, 'Yeah, I'm done. I can't do this anymore.' It's always good to take a couple months off, and then have that conversation, like, 'Do we want to keep going?'' Their careers have all taken off since the show first premiered in 2005. Olson is now in the Emmy-winning HBO series Hacks' and 'High Potential.' McElhenney (who she's married to) had his Apple show 'Mythic Quest' and his docuseries with Ryan Reynolds, 'Welcome to Wrexham.' Blake Lively shares cringey post about famous couple friends after Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce iced her out
Blake Lively shared a cringey post as she gave a shoutout to her fellow showbiz couple friends after being iced out by BFF Taylor Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce. The Gossip Girl alum, 37 - who is currently embroiled in legal drama with Justin Baldoni - jumped to her Instagram stories to applaud Rob McElhenney and his wife Kaitlin Olson on their latest Variety cover which dropped on Wednesday. The actress gushed about the Hollywood pair amid her fallout with Swift after the singer was recently subpoenaed in the ongoing and publicized lawsuit with Baldoni. Explosive claims also emerged that Blake threatened to release texts from the Grammy winner - and Kelce notably made the move of unfollowing Ryan Reynolds amid the drama. Along with sharing a photo of Rob and Kaitlin posing for a snap for the publication, Lively penned in the caption: 'The smartest, kindest, most talented couple. 'They're great parents. Not just to their kids. But to everyone in their orbit. We love sharing life with you both @kaitlinolson & @robmcelhenney.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Back in 2020, Reynolds and Rob notably purchased the Welsh professional football club called Wrexham AFC. The pair also star in the FX series titled Welcome To Wrexham which documents their journey as owners of the team. During their joint interview with Variety, McElhenney and Olson briefly shared their support to their A-list friends amid the Baldoni legal battle. 'It's just our way of staying connected and navigating something together,' Rob told the outlet. 'And also me giving and showing as much support as I possibly can with all the other stuff that he's got going on, that I know is so difficult and challenging. 'We both are just trying to offer our support in any way that we can that doesn't just simply add oxygen to the fire.' The It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia briefly discussed his friendship with Reynolds and expressed to People back in 2023, 'I consider him one of my closest friends, and I didn't even know him three years ago.' McElhenney added that Ryan was a 'kind and generous soul, and somebody you can rely on.' He later reflected, 'Our families have grown incredibly close, and even though we live on opposite coasts, we feel like we're right next to each other.' Blake's latest post on her Instagram stories comes amid her shock fallout with Taylor Swift. A source exclusively told that the singer 'is done' with the actress due to feeling like she had been 'exploited.' It was also unveiled that Lively had allegedly threated to leak private text messages from Taylor unless she sided with the actress amid her legal battle with Baldoni. Earlier this month, the Bad Blood songstress was officially subpoenaed in Lively's lawsuit when she was sent a legal notice by Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman as a witness. Swift's team slammed the subpoena as they argued that she was not very involved in the drama on set of 2024 film It Ends With Us. A rep for Taylor gave a blistering response to which read: 'Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film... 'She never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.' The rep noted that the only involvement Taylor had in the film was the use of one of her tracks titled My Tears Ricochet which was off of her 2020 album Folklore. The statement concluded: 'Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift's name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.' Lively's own legal team later slammed the subpoena and at one point stated, 'This is a very serious legal matter, not Barnum & Bailey's Circus.' Gigi Hadid has also distanced herself from Blake amid the ongoing lawsuit with a source telling Us Weekly that the model, 'has always had a closer friendship with Taylor and stands by her. 'She has been a very loyal friend to Taylor, and they have been best friends for a decade now.' The insider further explained that Hadid 'hasn't necessarily chosen sides' and added that the pair 'really haven't been as close in almost a year.' 'As Taylor has started to distance herself from Blake, Gigi has done the same. The shift wasn't abrupt, but gradual and organic change in dynamics. They haven't been in touch much this year and it does have everything to do with the lawsuit.' Also on Wednesday, Reynolds shamelessly promoted his wife Blake's latest business venture on the same day shocking allegations emerged about treatment of staff at her lifestyle brand. The Deadpool star promoted haircare brand, Blake Brown, in an Instagram Story - just hours after Daily Mail published claims from staff she ran 'toxic and insane' workplace at her lifestyle company 'Preserve.' Preserve was established in 2014 and was meant to be Blake's answer to Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Goop', but failed after a year. The actor re-shared a post of the Gossip Girl star advertising her latest hair and body mist product. The three news mists - Wild Nectar Santal, Bergamot Woods and Sandalwood Vanille - retail from $23 to $26 on Target. Sharing a link to the products, Reynolds wrote: 'Body mist, you say?' Blake later reposted Ryan's message and gave a special shoutout to her 'supportive husband.' Lively launched her haircare brand in July 2024 to create 'clean formulas with incredible performance at a mass price point with a fragrance that I would spray on my body.' In a recent interview with People, Lively also shared what her plans are now that she has had a busy spring. 'Just some time off sounds so nice with my babies and my husband,' she said. Blake has been married to Reynolds since 2012 and they have four children together: daughters James, Inez and Betty, and son Olin. 'I mean it's always busy, but when the kids are in school, I miss them,' said the looker. 'I'm that parent who just genuinely really loves spending time with my kids. My husband too, we're like, "I wonder if they can miss school today so we can spend time with them." 'We just really like them. Which is important. If you have so many kids, you have to like them. Because they will drive you insane if you don't [laughs],' she said. Blake also addressed how she keeps an eye on her haircare line, her beverage lines, - Betty Buzz and Betty Booze - and her acting projects all at once. 'It's just about being really passionate. I think you have to really love them. You have to be possessed by them. If you're just putting your name on something, I guess that's probably easy, but it wouldn't feel good to me. 'That's just not the person I am. Maybe if I was a different star sign that that would work, but Virgos, we can't. No, no, no. We love the details. We love the experience,' she added. 'So I think that the things that I'm involved in are things that I'm truly passionate about. I used to have a bracelet when I was a kid that said, "Do what you love, love what you do." And I think that's it, do what you love and love what you do.' It comes amid her lawsuit with Baldoni which began after Blake filed a lawsuit against him in December, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a 'hostile work environment on set.' Justin retaliated with his own $400 million filing against the actress, along with her husband, with the brutal melee now scheduled for a trial on March 29, 2026. All parties have denied the claims.
