Argentina got off to a flying start as Sol Guignet Gunazu (5') opened the scoring. Just minutes later, Sol Ollala De Labra (7') doubled the lead, putting the home side firmly in control. India pulled one back in the 11th minute through Kanika, who showed sharp awareness to reduce the deficit. However, Argentina responded quickly, with Milagros del Valle Alastra restoring the two-goal cushion in the 13th minute. Following a quiet second quarter, Argentina added a fourth through Maxima Duportal in the 37th minute. Kanika netted her second of the game in the 45th minute, giving India a glimmer of hope, but Argentina managed the final quarter and seal the match.

ANI 30 May 2025, 16:46 GMT+10 New Delhi [India], May 30 (ANI): The Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team suffered a 1-3 defeat in a shootout against Chile after a 2-2 draw over four quarters in their fourth match of the friendly Four Nations Tournament in Rosario, Argentina, on Friday, according to a release from Hockey India (HI). Sukhveer Kaur (35') and Kanika Siwach (47') were the goalscorers for India, while Jacinta Solari (27') and Captain Laura Muller (42') scored for Chile. Chile opened the scoring in the second quarter, with Jacinta Solari converting a penalty corner in the 27th minute. India equalised five minutes into the third quarter, as Sukhveer Kaur also converted a penalty corner. Chile regained the lead in the 42nd minute through a field goal from Captain Laura Muller. However, India started the fourth quarter strongly, with Kanika Siwach continuing her goalscoring streak by netting the equaliser in the 47th minute. With neither side able to find a winner in regulation time, the match went into a shootout, where Chile emerged victorious, winning 3-1. Josefina Constanza Gutierrez, Isabel Leonor Messen, and Trinidad Antonia Barrios scored for Chile, while Sonam was the lone scorer for India in the shootout. India will next face Uruguay on June 1. Kanika (44') scored India's lone goal during regulation time, while Lalrinpuii and Lalthantluangi netted in the shootout to secure the victory. Argentina got off to a strong start, with Milagros Del Valle (10') giving the home side the lead in the first quarter. India responded in the third quarter when Kanika found the equaliser in the 44th minute to bring her side back into the contest. With no further goals, the match was tied at full time and went to a penalty shootout. Goalkeeper and captain Nidhi proved to be the difference, pulling off four consecutive saves to shut out the hosts. Lalrinpuii and Lalthantluangi converted their chances to hand India a well-earned win. Indian junior women began their friendly Four Nations Tournament on a positive note with a 2-1 win over Chile in Rosario, Argentina, on May 25.
