Armed robbery cracked in 15 hours, pharmacy employee among 3 nabbed

Nagpur: The Dhantoli police cracked a daring armed robbery allegedly orchestrated by an employee of a pharmacy at a prominent hospital in Dhantoli within just 15 hours. Police arrested three suspects in the case and recovered Rs30,000 cash and a motorcycle used in the crime. Police leveraged CCTV footage and manual intelligence to nab the suspects. Police said the mastermind, Aman Todsam, a pharmacy worker at the hospital, allegedly planned the heist to make quick money. He tipped off his friend, Tushar Meshram, about the movements of the man who collected cash from the pharmacy and deposited it in a bank. Meshram, in turn, roped in Sameer Kawade, a criminal, to execute the robbery. The trio conducted reconnaissance of the man's routes and timings. On June 3, Meshram and Kawade, with their faces covered, ambushed the man at knifepoint on Abhyankar Road and fled with Rs70,000. They used a pungent chemical solution, the nature of which is still under investigation, to disorient their target. Senior inspector Anamika Mirzapure said the detection branch, headed by assistant PI Sanket Choudhary, played a pivotal role in cracking the case. The team accessed CCTV footage which had captured the suspects riding a motorcycle without a registration plate. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The footage traced their last location to the Futala locality. Combining this with manual intelligence, the police first apprehended Meshram, followed by Kawade. During questioning, the duo claimed Todsam was the mastermind who provided critical information about the cash pick-up schedule. The investigation, supervised by assistant commissioner of police Sudhir Nandanvar and zonal deputy commissioner of police Rahul Madane, led to the seizure of the suspects' cellphones for further analysis.

Nagpur cops file chargesheet in molestation case in record 13 hours, set new benchmark

Nagpur: The Beltarodi police set an unprecedented benchmark by filing a chargesheet in 13 hours in a molestation case . In the past, police may have drawn flak for delaying the filing of chargesheets, but the trend was reversed by Beltarodi police, which earlier filed a chargesheet in 48 hours. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The cops registered a crime of alleged molestation against a well-known driving school owner, Atul Tannirwar, at 15 minutes past midnight (12.15am) on Tuesday. Subsequently, they ensured a 31-page chargesheet was submitted in court at 4.15pm. A team of three officers, comprising senior inspector Mukund Kawade, inspector (crime) Rupali Bawankar, and investigation officer assistant sub-inspector Shenlata Jaybhaye, ensured the case was tackled at a brisk pace and finer probe procedures under Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) were completed. This included recording two statements, including that of the survivor, before the court. The survivor enrolled herself at the driving school at Omkar Nagar on April 16, said a cop. As per her complaint, the owner, Tannirwar, used to take her to desolate stretches where he would touch her inappropriately. Miffed with undue advances, which lasted for four days, the survivor decided to lodge a complaint with Beltarodi police. Kawade stated that the spot 'panchanama' was completed followed by collection of other evidence. "We fed data of evidence into the e-sakshya app, as per the new guidelines. Every step was videographed, including statements for stronger evidence," said Kawade, adding the procedure was completed under the supervision of zonal DCP Rashmitha Rao and CP Ravinder Singal. "After filing a chargesheet in 39 hours, we were working on improving the timing. In the latest chargesheet, the evidence collected was improved too," said the senior inspector.
