'I Want A New Car,' Says A Wife Whose Husband Says They Can't Afford It On $700K. Dave Ramsey Starts Mocking Her And People Are Confused
Kayla from Montana recently wrote into 'The Dave Ramsey Show' with what sounded like a pretty straightforward question: Can we afford to buy a new car? 'My husband lives and breathes by Dave's rules and he thinks we can't afford one,' Kayla wrote. She said she and her husband are both 35 years old, have a combined income of $700,000, and a net worth close to $1 million. They have two young daughters and are planning to grow their family soon. Their only debts are a $600,000 mortgage on their home and a $65,000 mortgage on a rental property. Don't Miss: Maker of the $60,000 foldable home has 3 factory buildings, 600+ houses built, and big plans to solve housing — Inspired by Uber and Airbnb – Deloitte's fastest-growing software company is transforming 7 billion smartphones into income-generating assets – Kayla's plan was to save up and buy a new midsize SUV this year. Her husband wanted to stick with a used full-size SUV and keep it for at least seven years. What followed wasn't the usual Ramsey-style financial breakdown. Instead, Dave Ramsey and co-host Rachel Cruze launched into a full-on critique of the couple's dynamic. 'The problem here Kayla, is not the car,' Ramsey said. 'You just stand back and ask for stuff and he decides if he's going to give it or not. That is not a Ramsey rule.' Ramsey went on to say Kayla sounded like a '16-year-old having a hissy fit because your daddy won't buy you a car,' a comment that many viewers found jarring. While Ramsey emphasized that he teaches couples to work together financially as 'two grown-ups working toward an agreed goal,' his mocking tone and personal assumptions about their relationship didn't sit right with many listeners. Trending: Maximize saving for your retirement and cut down on taxes: . In the video's comments section, viewers pushed back. One commenter said the woman didn't sound anything like Ramsey's mocking imitation. She had simply asked if they could save up for a new car, considering their income. The commenter added, 'He didn't have to insult the wife. He was a rude a-hole.' Another wrote, 'I didn't get that inference from her writing at all. Dave heard something that was never there.' Others shared that they also didn't pick up on any of the supposed undertones and felt Ramsey was projecting. Several people pointed out that the husband appeared to be using 'Dave's rules' as a way to shut down the conversation. One said it sounded like he just wanted control and was using Ramsey's advice as an the drama, Ramsey did eventually answer the financial question: No, he wouldn't recommend buying a brand-new car unless you have a net worth of at least $1 million. 'Buy a two-year-old SUV,' he said. 'Let someone else take the buttkicking on the depreciation.' He also criticized the couple for poor money management. 'There's something wrong. Where the heck is all this money going? You ought to be able to write a check to buy that SUV and not even have this discussion. There's money going out of here like you guys are in Congress.' Still, many commenters felt the emotional commentary overwhelmed what could have been a simple financial discussion. One viewer summed it up: 'Dave, you are good at finances, but perhaps leave the 'daddy issues' for John Deloney?' Deloney is one of Ramsey's co-hosts and a popular mental health expert. Young Wexford trio earn spot on Junk Kouture's world stage ‘It's the most amazing feeling ever!'
Ellen Chapman, Anna Murphy and Kayla Butler creatively designed and hand-crafted their Gear Glamour dress, which was made solely from the parts of two bikes and a bike cover. Not leaving any part unaccounted for, the ambitious designers formed their skirt from bike tyres, the wires were included in the underskirt and the train that trailed the dress was crafted by weaving together the recycled bike cover. The inner rubber tubing of the tyres were plaited and stitched together to form the corset, and a headpiece was created by using the remainder of the tyres as well as spokes, chains and brake cable. The outfit was completed by removing the heels of a second-hand pair of heeled sandals, which were then cleverly replaced by old gear cogs stacked upon each other. 'When we formed our group and began our project, we realised that we all have a different set of skills and focusing on our strengths as a team is what helped us complete our design,' explained Kayla. Kayla also outlined that the inspiration from the design came from their rural community, as their school is located in south county Wexford, and students are heavily reliant on cars and busses to get to school. Inspiring others to reduce their carbon footprint where possible is what led the girls to focus their project around cycling and bikes. When the team reached the national finals, Ellen, who modelled the design for Gear Glamour, described the announcement of the result while she was on stage as 'the most amazing feeling ever'. 'The adrenaline was rushing through me and it's all a bit of a blur because it happened so quickly, but it was really amazing to be up there on stage in front of the crowd,' she added. In addition to being proud of their work and making it to the world stage, Ellen described Junk Kouture as a great initiative to be involved with as 'it has opened so many doors already.' Gear Glamour is one of the top 10 teams in the country that has progressed to the international stage, flying the flag high for Ramsgrange in the World finals which see groups from Abu Dhabi, London, Milan, New York and Paris all compete to be crowned the coveted overall Junk Kouture champion. Anna explained that the Gear Glamour girls are hoping the upcoming announcement for the world event, which is due to be held in 2026, will take them overseas. 'This year's world competition was held in Dublin, and if they decide to host it in a country abroad next year, our accommodation and our flights will be included, which is nice, but that the question we're being asked from all angles – 'where are worlds on?' and we're really looking forward to finding out and taking a trip together, with our designated Educator, Sharon McGee,' said Anna. As the trio will be moving from TY to fifth year in September, Kayla's advice to anyone who may be apprehensive about the programme and getting involved in the programme is to 'honestly, dive in." "Take advantage of every single opportunity. There's so much to do in TY, and if you don't take advantage of those opportunities, then you get nothing out of it. Junk Kouture is just one of the many, many things that we have done and TY has been an amazing experience, it's been unbelievable and I'd recommend it to everybody,' she concluded.

Afterwards, we see Bo walking in Horton Square, and he sees Tom and Alice's plaque. He has no idea with the hell he is doing there. Back at the hospital, Ciara Alice talks with Bo about all of his children. She says she didn't always do a great job of living up to her middle name. Steve explains John is an expert as this kind of thing and insisted on showing up to help them. They discuss how they need to be ready for whatever comes next. Steve says the security system has a two-part security system, John can cover one part… and Hope enters saying she can cover the other. Hope cuts the wires which unlocks the doors. She tells Dr Russell to come with her and help locate the drug. Shawn Douglas is worried he will never get to say goodbye to his father. Steve knows he blames himself for his father's condition. That being said, he is counting on Bo to hold on and pull through. Warehouse: Hope, John, and Dr Russell enter and a person on the floor (Asher?) begins to rouse from an unconscious state. Dr Russell spots the Sepsis drug just as Asher jumps up and attacks Dr Russell. Hope grabs the drug as Asher wrestles with the good doctor and the room begins to fill with smoke. Asher, who seems to be high, pulls a knife and says he's going to kill them. John swings into action as flames begin to rise. Hope gets Dr Russell out and tries to go back in but the fire has engulfed the doorway. The fire fighters have now arrived and Steve and Hope are trying desperately to get to John but are not allowed. They tell the group of four they have found a body. The medics bring John out on a gurney and he is still alive. Dr Russell wants to take a look but is told to stand down. The medic indicates John is badly burned as the suit didn't protect him. Hope and Steve tell John he's going to pull through like he always does. Shawn Douglas looks down at John's open hand and realizes he secured one vile of the sepsis drug. He gives it to Hope and tells her to go save Bo. Horton House: Julie calls Hope and leaves her a message to wish her a happy anniversary. University Hospital – Bo's Room: Shawn Douglas and Hope arrive to tell Ciara they secured the drug for Bo. They think it's the miracle they've been waiting for. Hope sits by Bo's side and tells him to fight. University Hospital – Lobby: Steve tells Dr Russell the man who attacked him is dead. He says John not only saved Dr Russell's life but also his life's work. Steve hands him vibes of the drug saying John protected them with his body. He tells the good doctor to continue his work because John put his life on the line to save his important drug. With that, Steve takes a seat and breaks down. University Hospital – John's Room: Marlena and Kayla are at John's bedside. Kayla says John inhaled a lot of smoke and has 3rd degree burns over 30% of his body. Marlena is in tears and says she called the kids who are on their way. She says she won't be leaving his side. Endings Julie takes a seat and wishes Doug a happy anniversary. She says she thinks of him every day and cherishes their love. She kisses the picture and pulls it close to her chest. Hope, Ciara and Shawn Douglas recite the Lord's prayer as the doctor administer the sepsis drug. Marlena knows John is exhausted but begs him not to leave her now. Steve enters and stands by Marlena's side. He says Stefano may have called himself the phoenix but had nothing on John Black. We now flashback to John's origin story, many of his identities and life-threatening adventures. With each heartbeat, we see a different flashback scene. In real-time, John whispers, 'I love you, Doc' to Marlena. As soon as he elicits the sentiment, the heart monitor flatlines. Kayla returns and says he's coding. Manager: Julianna Peña's PED accusations ahead of UFC 316 fuel Kayla Harrison
Manager: Julianna Peña's PED accusations ahead of UFC 316 fuel Kayla Harrison Ali Abdelaziz believes UFC bantamweight champion Julianna Peña is making things worse for herself by accusing Kayla Harrison of using steroids. At UFC 316, Peña (11-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) faces Abdelaziz's client Harrison (18-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in the co-feature bout for the 135-pound title. The event takes place June 7 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Recently, Peña stated that she believes Harrison has used PEDs at some point in her career. Harrison, who has a muscular build, has never failed a drug test. According to the UFC's anti-doping testing website, Harrison has been tested three times so far in 2025. In her debut year, 2024, Harrison was tested 13 times. Abdelaziz isn't angry with Peña for the accusations, because he believes it's just more bulletin board material for Harrison to use as motivation when the cage door closes at UFC 316. "Let me clear something up: Kayla's the most tested athlete in UFC history," Abdelaziz told MMA Junkie. "She's been in WADA, Olympics for like 15 years, USADA, UFC program – there's nobody got tested more. Anyone who claims – I'm sorry you don't have this kind of physique, or muscle, or strong – this is God. You should talk to God about this, but to accuse someone of something who got more testing than you – I'm cool with Julianna. She's cool, but more she talk, more punishment she will get. I promise you. "Kayla's a very petty human being. She's very petty. The more she talk, more it's gonna fuel Kayla and more she's gonna smash her face. And I believe she will smash her face – not in a bad way. I believe its gonna be a very bad night for Julianna. I truly believe it. Kayla's just built different. She's getting comfortable with the weight. She's figured it out. It's getting easier for her. She's getting in that right moment. When you line things up, in the right moment at the right time, it's very hard to beat certain people, and Kayla's definitely one of the hardest people to beat." After just two fights in the UFC, Harrison has earned a title shot. Should she be successful against Peña, Abdelaziz hopes winning the title will bring former two-division champion Amanda Nunes out of retirement for a potentially massive fight. "She's going to smash Julianna, and after that, Amanda Nunes hopefully can come out (of retirement), and she can beat her too."
