Peter Stormare: Keanu Reeves is ‘not happy' with Constantine 2 scripts
Keanu Reeves is "not happy with the scripts" for 'Constantine 2', Peter Stormare has said. The 60-year-old actor's titular demonologist is set to return in a follow-up to the 2005 horror flick, and Stormare - who played Lucifer in the movie - has revealed Reeves has been disappointed with Warner Bros.' ideas for a more action-packed 'Constantine 2'. Speaking with The Direct, Stormare, 71, said: "It's a lot of back and forth, because ... I think Keanu, which I know pretty good, is not so happy with the scripts and usually what comes out of the studios. "Because the first one wasn't that successful in the beginning, it became a sleeper and became a cult movie, and now it is one of the biggest cult movies ever. But to do a sequel, the studios want to have, you know, cars flying in the air. They want to have people doing flip-flops and fighting action scenes." Stormare added that the 'John Wick' star believed a 'Constantine' sequel should be "spiritual", and was worried the follow-up would diverge from this concept in favour of focusing on action. He explained: "I think Keanu says, 'I've done 'John Wick'. This movie is spiritual. It's about demons and regular people. And I wanted to keep it that way.' "And we talked about that. I want to do God coming down exactly the same way, but in a black suit and looking more or less like Lucifer from the first one. I'm 12 years older, so it's going to be hard to, you know, completely imitate the first movie. "But, I think from Keanu, he wants to do a sequel that is very close to the first one." Even so, Stormare admitted he hasn't seen any of the scripts for 'Constantine 2' yet, and it was all "hearsay" from Reeves. He said: "That is just hearsay from him, you know, and it's trying to be very secretive. As we say, both me and him, just do the first movie again and add some other elements, and you have a sequel. "'The Godfather Part II' was a sequel that was built on number one. They are similar. You can actually see number one and two together, and they stick together. "So, don't do a completely different movie, then it won't hold together. And I think that's where we are, yeah." 'Constantine' tells the story of the titular exorcist and demonologist who helps LAPD policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) investigate her twin sister's mysterious suicide, only to discover that fallen angels from Hell are trying to enter the human world. While Reeves is seemingly apprehensive about the ideas for 'Constantine 2', Stormare insisted the actor was "very proud" of the character. He said: "I think Keanu is very proud of that. He was fighting for it to be a character that he loved and wanted to develop. "And I mean, with Tilda Swinton doing Gabriel, it is a cool character. And even my Lucifer is a cool character that you can relate to as a viewer ... They wanted to dress me up like, you know, like a devil with a tail and a pitchfork and whatever, but we were really fighting for me to have, like, an off-white suit and do it very simple."

Len Wiseman's Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas as the lead, had its London premiere on Thursday. The film is a spin-off of the John Wick series, led by Keanu Reeves. Pedro Pascal also attended the premiere, and Keanu had a hilarious reaction to him casually strolling in. (Also Read: Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas are all smiles at the London premiere of John Wick spin-off Ballerina) In a video posted by an Instagram page, Pedro can be seen casually strolling in for the premiere of Ballerina. Dressed in a casual T-shirt, jacket and jeans, the actor can be seen smiling as he walks by fans who started screaming once they recognised him. Pedro, for his part, waves and blows flying kisses to fans as he walks in. The camera then pans to Keanu, who's busy giving an interview on stage, pausing it to check who everyone is screaming so loudly for. He also says something intelligible once he realises they were cheering for Pedro. A post shared by The Movie Podcast (@themoviepodcast) After the video gained traction on Instagram, one fan commented, 'He's so cute…like, just passing through.' Another called the way Pedro strolled past 'unreal'. 'Two of the best. Pedro and Keanu,' commented one fan, while another wrote, 'Now they need to work together on a film.' One comment pointed out how loudly the girls in the crowd were screaming, writing, 'Girls screaming,' with laughter emojis. Some left heart emojis under the post. One even dramatically commented, 'y'all can't see my face right now, but i assure you, it'll full of tears over this appearance.' Ballerina is a spin-off between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). Ana plays the titular ballerina and trained assassin Eve Macarro, while Keanu reprises his role as John Wick. Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus also star in it. The film will be released in India on 13 June.

Major EastEnders exit confirmed as star set to leave after 8 years
Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) is reportedly leaving EastEnders after 8 years. The character, who is the daughter of Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), has certainly struggled to get back on her feet following the massive storyline involving her brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). As a result of producer Chris Clenshaw leaving and new boss Ben Wadey taking over, the show will undergo a few changes. Usually when someone new takes over, a handful of characters depart the show, with Bernie Taylor seemingly being one of them. 'Every time a soap gets a new boss they want to make their own changes – it's nothing personal. The writing has been on the wall for Bernie for some time so it wasn't really a surprise to Clair', a source said. Continuing to The Sun, they added: 'She was the last Taylor standing and it's time to close the chapter on them and let Clair go on to do other things.' Metro has contacted EastEnders for a comment. Dubai-raised Al Azhari reflects on driving roots ahead of UK stint
15 May 2025 00:29 KUUMAR SHYAM (ABU DHABI)At just 17 years old, Dubai's Keanu Al Azhari has taken a significant leap in his motorsport career – one that could put him on the path to Formula rising UAE driver has joined the Alpine Academy, the junior development programme in England, and is set to compete in the GB3 Championship with the Silverstone-based Hitech GP this move marks a turning point for Al Azhari, who has long been seen as one of the UAE's brightest racing prospects. Having already made a name for himself in Formula 4 over two seasons, the teenager sees his latest step as both validation of his talent and a gateway to bigger things."Joining Alpine is a big milestone in my career and a reflection of all the hard work that I have put in," he said."I'm really proud to be part of the Alpine family, and they will help develop me during my junior single-seater career. Hopefully, this move will be another step towards reaching my career goal of reaching F1 one day, as that is my dream. It's going to be a tough few years, but I am ready to show everyone what I have now."And he is thankful to Dubai Autodrome, where his career roots have been entrenched. Motorsport runs in the family. Keanu's father, Karim Al Azhari, was a regular on the local racing scene, and Keanu was immersed in the world of racing from an early age at the Autodrome and even got his racing license from there."My first memories of going to the track were at a very young age, when I was three years old, watching my dad race," he trajectory so far certainly supports that ambition. We hope many young drivers across the UAE can follow in his footsteps." For now, Al Azhari's focus is firmly on GB3 and proving he belongs in the upper echelons of junior motorsport. With the backing of Alpine and a competitive seat at Hitech GP, he has the tools – and the drive – to take his dream all the way to Formula One.
