Sean Jones, an officer with the Woods Cross Police Department, said the pilot was taking off from the regional airport when he main rotor of the helicopter clipped the airplane hangar.
The collision reportedly destroyed the rotor and caused the tail of the helicopter to break off, demolishing the vehicle.
The pilot, who was the only occupant of the helicopter, was able to walk away from the crash with only minor scratches.
Investigators were able to clear the scene without incident or any additional impact. No further details were provided.
