Lizzo's New Single Finally Becomes A Hit, With Some Help From A Major Pop Star

Lizzo's 'Still Bad' debuts at No. 11 on Digital Song Sales after a duet with Kelly Clarkson, marking ... More her first chart hit in over a year. ROSKILDE, DENMARK - JULY 01: Lizzo performs at Roskilde Festival 2023 on July 01, 2023 in Roskilde, Denmark. (Photo by Joseph Okpako/WireImage) It's been well over two months since Lizzo released her most recent single, "Still Bad." The track was a commercial disappointment in its earliest days, as the singer, songwriter and rapper was surely hoping it would become a major hit and kick off her latest album campaign, as she's currently hyping the world for her forthcoming Love in Real Life. But sadly, that didn't turn out to be the case. Long after the tune was shared with the public, it finally becomes a bestseller in America, thanks to an assist from another one of the most successful women in pop music. "Still Bad" debuts at No. 11 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart this week. That tally ranks the bestselling cuts on platforms like iTunes and Amazon, and this time around, that includes Lizzo's most recent offering. Luminate reports that in the past tracking period, "Still Bad" sold just under 2,700 copies. "Still Bad" may be new to the Digital Song Sales chart, but as mentioned, it's not actually very new as far as pop music goes. Lizzo's cut experiences a 286% gain in pure purchases from one frame to the next. Just days ago, it ended a tracking period with 700 sales — and the following stint, it adds about 2,000 to that sum. "Still Bad" experiences such a boom after Kelly Clarkson invited Lizzo onto her daytime talk show to perform the tune. The singers turned it into a duet earlier this month, but it's Lizzo who enjoys the spoils on the Billboard rankings, as Clarkson doesn't earn credit on the cut. "Still Bad" earns Lizzo her twelfth placement on the Digital Song Sales tally, and her first since 2023. In August of that year, "Pink," the song she wrote and recorded for the Barbie soundtrack, peaked at No. 22. "Still Bad" has already been present on one Billboard ranking for more than two months. This frame, it drops seven spaces to No. 37 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart in its tenth stay on that radio roster. The tune previously peaked at No. 21.

Elizabeth Banks reveals surprising first job before Hollywood stardom which involved retrieving condoms from toilets

Elizabeth Banks has revealed she used to remove 'condoms and tampons' from toilets during her time as a 'chambermaid'. The actress, 51, has recalled her time taking on difficult jobs before finding success in films, and she recalled a period where she 'cleaned toilets' to make a living. She told The Kelly Clarkson Show: 'I started working really young. I've done everything. I was a waitress for a decade. I also was a chambermaid at a bed and breakfast.' The Charlie's Angels star took the opportunity to make a plea for any guests in the hospitality sector from someone who's been on the other side. She begged: 'I just have some advice for people who stay in hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, whatever.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Please stop flushing things other than tepee down toilets. Like the amount of condoms and tampons I had to dig out of toilets as a 17-year-old is shocking to me.' However, Elizabeth conceded that the experience was character-building, and she feels like she's ready for anything. She added: 'Kelly, I can go anywhere. It's not glamorous this life you lead. You end up going a lot of crazy places and I'm like, 'I've been worse.' ' Elizabeth - who has kids Felix, 14, and Magnus, 12, with her husband Max Handelman - recently insisted her children have 'no interest' in following in her footsteps as actors when it comes to their own working ambitions. She told PEOPLE magazine: 'If my kids decide to get into acting, which they have currently no interest in, then I would be thrilled to ever do anything with them if they would deign to hang out with me. 'It's unlikely. In fact, it would have to be a paying job for them to actually want to hang out with me.' She also revealed one of her boys recently had a role in a school production, but wasn't impressed with the return he got for the work he put in. Speaking to E! News, she quipped: 'My son was recently in a school play and he said, 'That was a lot of effort for flowers and some applause!''

Hoda Kotb FINALLY reveals if she will take over The Kelly Clarkson Show after Today departure

Amid speculation Kelly Clarkson intended on departing her talk show, Hoda Kotb emerged as a rumored contender to replace the American Idol alum. But now Hoda has set the record straight on the speculation. During an appearance on the Today show, Hoda confirmed she will not be taking over The Kelly Clarkson Show. Hoda, 60, who departed the Today show after nearly two decades in January, returned to the talk show on Wednesday where she was asked about the rumors by her former colleagues Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie. But Hoda pledged her allegiance to the Today show, insisting it is the only show she would appear on if she ever returned to TV. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Hoda Kotb confirmed she will not be taking over The Kelly Clarkson Show 'Do you think if I ever came back to TV - do you know where the only place I would ever come back to is? Right here. This is the spot!' she said. 'So rumors are done?' Craig asked. 'Delete, delete,' Hoda said. 'Not true.' 'I thought you were because I know you were playing your guitar and singing a lot lately and I thought that maybe you felt like, "I'm ready for some Hoda-oke!"' Savannah said, referencing Clarkson's talk show game Kellyoke. While Hoda isn't taking over the show, she will be appearing as a guest next week. 'I am going to be on Kelly's show next week though. Just for fun,' Hoda clarified. The confirmation comes amid speculation Kelly is considering quitting her talk show - and that Hoda is on a list of those eyed to replace her. 'There's a long list of names, and Hoda is part of that list,' an insider told Page Six back in May. 'Hoda ticks a lot of boxes. She's an Egyptian, older Kelly Clarkson,' the insider added. Koda has been keeping busy since departing the Today show earlier this year, and is now launching the wellness company Joy 101. The long-time anchor, who first joined Dateline NBC in 1998 before ultimately landing her role as co-anchor, announced her planned departure in September 2024 before officially exiting in January. Hoda, who was part of NBC News for 26 years, was immediately moved to tears as she announced her exit last year, explaining to her fellow co-hosts turning 60 had been a 'monumental moment' that made her decide it was time to 'try something new'. The TV icon also wrote a letter explaining her 'painful' decision to her colleagues, explaining further that marking her 60th birthday sparked a seismic 'shift' in her life. 'As I write this, my heart is all over the map,' Hoda said. 'I know I'm making the right decision, but it's a painful one. And you all are the reason why. They say two things can be right at the same time, and I'm feeling that so deeply right now. I love you and it's time for me to leave the show. 'My time at NBC has been the longest professional love affair of my life. But only because you've been beside me on this twenty-six-year adventure. Looking back, the math is nuts. 26 years at NBC News - Ten years at Dateline, seven on the seven o'clock hour, sixteen on the ten o'clock hour.' She continued: 'I'm picturing your faces and your families and all the ways you've lifted me up and inspired me. That's my heart singing. So many of my professional relationships have become some of my most cherished friendships.' She went on to pay a heart breaking tribute to her 'ride-or-die' Jenna Bush Hager and claimed she will 'desperately' miss everyone she has worked with on the popular morning show. 'Savannah: my rock,' she continued. 'Jenna: my ride-or-die. Al: my longest friend at 30 Rock. Craig, Carson, Sheinelle and Dylan: my family. Libby, Mazz and Talia: my fearless leaders. I will miss each and every one of you at TODAY desperately.'

Hoda Kotb's appearance on Kelly Clarkson's show sparks replacement rumors as singer looks for exit: report

Hoda Kotb 's upcoming appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show has ignited speculation about her potential as a replacement host on the daytime talk show. Kotb, the former Today show co-anchor who stepped down in January, recently taped an interview with Clarkson to promote her new wellness brand, set to launch in New York City on May 28, Page Six reports. While multiple sources confirmed to the outlet that Kotb's appearance was solely for promotional purposes, her presence on the show comes at a time when rumors are swirling of her possibly taking over as host. At the time of publication, Kotb is not listed as a guest this week on The Kelly Clarkson Show's website. Clarkson, who has hosted the daytime show since its debut in 2019, is reportedly considering leaving when her contract expires in 2026 to leave New York City and focus on her daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remy, 8, according to the outlet. Staff members have reportedly expressed concerns about job stability following Clarkson's recent two-week unexplained absence, which was later attributed to a personal matter, the Daily Mail reports. Neither NBC nor Clarkson's representatives have commented on the potential changes. The Independent has contacted representatives for NBC and Clarkson for comment. NBC executives are reportedly compiling a list of potential successors, with Kotb emerging as a leading candidate due to her extensive experience and popularity. Kotb also remains affiliated with NBC through correspondent roles. Clarkson relocated her show from LA to NYC in 2023 after her divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock was finalized in June 2022. "I was very depressed for the last three years — and maybe a little before that, if I'm being honest. I think I really needed the change," Clarkson told PEOPLE at the time of the move. "I needed it for me and my family as well. My kids are thriving here. We're just doing so much better, and we needed a fresh start." The Kelly Clarkson Show airs weekdays on NBC.
