Keri Russell admits she's ‘still not sure' she wants to be an actress but ‘really loves' her job right now

Keri Russell creates magic on ordinary days. But that doesn't mean she's too tethered to the job title actress. In fact, Russell, 49, recently revealed how she views her career in Hollywood. 'I didn't grow up desperate to be an actress,' the star said while at the Hollywood Reporter's Drama Actress Roundtable. 'I'm still not sure I want to be. But I really love my job right now. There are a lot of things that are still embarrassing to me. I'm not a performer at ease.' I haven't done a German or Russian accent in a while and I just want to try it out,'' she revealed. 'That's my nightmare! I would f–king die. I don't want to f–king do that in front of strangers! For me, there's a real push-pull. I still have to overcome the obstacle of being nervous, but this version of TV that we're in works for me.' When the series wrapped, Russell left Los Angeles for New York and never moved back. 'I like my regular life,' she confessed at the roundtable. 'It's always such a funny thing when you see any big, super famous movie star. We've all worked with those people. I think [about how] they can't even go outside. They don't know what it's like to be a real person. They don't get their own coffee. They don't do their own laundry.' 'How do they play a real person? I don't want to talk shit too much about acting. I am completely married to the adventure of it, and that's what I'm in it for,' Russell added. Netflix Just Revealed The Future Of 4 Top Shows

We all know Netflix can be a little unforthcoming when it comes to announcements about the future of its shows – often keeping fans waiting for months for updates on even some of its biggest titles. So, we're happy to report that the streaming platform has made a mahoosive announcement about what's next for four of its biggest shows of the past year. First of all, with filming on season four of Bridgerton nearing its end, Netflix has announced that it will be getting a fifth and sixth run – seemingly extending the show's run until around 2030 (as each season of the hit period drama takes around two years to complete). Netflix Fans of cult favourite The Diplomat also have reason to celebrate, as the Keri Russell thriller is now getting a fourth season, with the third still to come later in the year. As if that wasn't enough, recent hits The Four Seasons and Forever will both be getting follow-up seasons, after fans speculated about whether the show's success could lead to them being renewed by Netflix. The Four Seasons premiered at the beginning of this month, co-written by and starring Tina Fey at the centre of a story about six lifelong friends, made up of three couples, whose lives are rocked by the news that one of the pairings is splitting up. Netflix A week later, Forever also began streaming. The teen romance serves as a modern reimagining of Judy Blume's classic novel, updated for the 21st century, with Lovie Simone and Michael Cooper Jr in the lead roles. Netflix

3 great Hulu movies you need to stream this weekend (May 9 – 11)

Table of Contents Table of Contents Austenland (2013) The Transporter (2002) The Damned (2024) Although the beginning of the month is often the best time to find new movies on Hulu, the streaming service is doing a good job of adding fresh titles throughout the month. There are several new additions arriving on Friday, May 9, making it easy to pick the three great Hulu movies you need to stream this weekend. This week's choices include a romantic comedy that finds an excuse to dress up like Jane Austen characters, an incredible Jason Statham action flick, and a horror movie that largely flew under the radar last year. Recommended Videos Need more recommendations? We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+. Austenland (2013) Austenland is exactly what you think it is — an immersive Jane Austen experience that's kind of like a theme park for 19th-century romance lovers. That description fits Jane Hayes (Keri Russell) since she's convinced all the good men are fictional, and she'd rather just spend the money to have a role-playing romance during her vacation getaway. Jane may swoon for the fictional Mr. Darcy, but she doesn't seem to like Henry Nobley (JJ Feild), the Darcy-like fellow in her group. She's initially drawn to a more down-to-earth guy, the stablehand Martin (Bret McKenzie). But in true Jane Austen fashion, Jane has to know her own heart before she can find anything resembling true love. And there are darker sides of Austenland that may tarnish the experience for everyone. Watch Austenland on Hulu. The Transporter (2002) The Transporter is one of Jason Statham's first movies as a leading man and one of the greatest action flicks he's ever appeared in. Frank Martin (Statham) is the best getaway driver that money can buy, in part because he has rigid rules he follows. Once Frank accepts a job, no amount of money can get him to change the terms of his contract. However, Frank breaks his own rules when he realizes that he's been duped into transporting a young woman named Lai Kwai (Shu Qi) for human traffickers. Frank would bristle at the notion of acting out of misguided notions of heroism. But when Lai's kidnappers attempt to assassinate Frank, they make an enemy for life. When Frank gets vengeful, his enemies don't tend to live very long. Watch The Transporter on Hulu on May 9. The Damned (2024) The Narrow Road to the Deep North's Odessa Young headlines The Damned as Eva, the widowed owner of a 19th-century fishing outpost in a remote village. As Eva and her men face a bleak winter with meager supplies, she does not aid the survivors of a nearby shipwreck. Since it's a horror movie, her choice means that Eva and everyone around her must suffer the supernatural consequences. Eva isn't really a believer in the supernatural. One of the villagers, Helga (Siobhan Finneran), believes the group is being haunted by a Draugr, the embodiment of hatred that has returned for revenge. But as inexplicable events pile up and villagers are killed, even Eva can't deny that someone or something is targeting them. As one of the leaders, Eva has to face the threat to her people alone. Watch The Damned on Hulu on May 9.

3 free underrated sci-fi movies on Amazon you should watch in May 2025

Table of Contents Table of Contents Dark Skies (2013) Leviathan (1989) The Mandela Effect (2019) The only thing better than a great sci-fi movie is one you can stream for free, without a subscription. These three underrated sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime Video are free and can be streamed this month. Previously, Amazon had these titles under its Freevee umbrella. But with the Freevee brand now gone, you can find these free films tagged as 'watch for free.' If you're looking for something in the sci-fi genre you can watch without paying (but with ads), you don't even need to dig through the offerings, because we have highlighted three great titles for you right here. Recommended Videos Need more recommendations? Then check out the best new movies to stream this week, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+. Dark Skies (2013) Produced by Blumhouse Productions, the production company behind some of the best horror movies, including films like Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge, and Get Out, Dark Skies is about a typical suburban nuclear family that starts to experience strange events in their home. The kitchen is weirdly rearranged overnight. The house alarm goes off, indicating a breach at every single entrance. One day, hundreds of birds crash into the house. Once odd things start happening to the family members, mother Lacy (Keri Russell) does some research and thinks it might have something to do with aliens. Also starring Josh Hamilton (The Walking Dead) and J.K. Simmons (Red One), Dark Skies is suspenseful and intriguing, even if the plot gets lost at times. Stream Dark Skies on Amazon Prime Video. Leviathan (1989) Drawing comparisons to Alien and The Thing, Leviathan might be a copycat-type movie, but it's worth watching for those who love movies that blend sci-fi with horror. Counted among the cast are Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) and Daniel Stern (Home Alone), and the story centers around an undersea mining operation that goes wrong when they come across a Soviet shipwreck called Leviathan. A great claustrophobic thriller, Leviathan has gruesome, scary, and even funny moments to keep you entertained all the way through. Stream Leviathan on Amazon Prime Video. The Mandela Effect (2019) The psychological phenomenon known as the Mandela Effect has bubbled to the surface of late thanks to Charlie Brooker's clever toying with viewers in the Black Mirror season seven episode Bête Noire. Two versions of the episode were released with different versions of a company logo, one showing 'Barnie's' and one showing 'Bernie's.' This concept of questioning reality is central to the plot in the 2019 movie The Mandela Effect, whereby grieving father Brendan (Charlie Hofheimer) swears he remembers events and facts differently from what others insist they were or appear to be today. Brendan starts to believe that he is shifting through parallel universes. From there, he becomes obsessed with the idea that maybe in one of these alternate worlds, his daughter Sam (Madeline McGraw) is still alive. Stream The Mandela Effect on Amazon Prime Video.
