Housefull 5 trailer review: An unfunny promo with repeated gags and same old comedy with Akshay Kumar being the only savior
It feels like a rehash of the first two films in the franchise with one gag from part one and one song from part two. read more The trailer of Housefull 5 is here. It's a trailer I was looking forward to and it's a film I am looking forward to since it's not just a comedy but a murder mystery too. And there are 19 actors in one film and one frame and the idea is expectedly ambitious. But the promo reeks of sameness and datedness despite the grandeur and style on display. It feels like a rehash of the first two films in the franchise with one gag from part one and one song from part two. All the actors nearing their 40s, 50s, 60s are making faces in the name of humour with little help from the smartness of the narrative. Once again, we have three people with the same name- Jolly. Not so jolly. We have the incredibly talented Chitrangda Singh go largely unnoticed in the promo. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The madness this time unfolds on a cruise so there's nowhere to run. Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt are long past their prime to give the Khalnayak nostalgia a gratifying touch. But yes, Shroff does own one moment that involves his son's viral dialogue. It's only Akshay Kumar who seems to be doing all the heavy-lifting as always. But the freshness is fading away. Nana Patekar joins the ensemble too, the man who always aces the genre of poker-faced comedy. The film releases in cinemas on June 6. The last Housefull is still the biggest hit of Akshay Kumar's career. This has to go beyond and above, even if it's as unamusing as the promo.

Released in 1993, this film made Madhuri Dixit a star, now its sequel in talks, lead actor may be replaced by..., film is In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, there are many films that come, entertain, and then go, but there are rarely a few that remain etched in our memories for the long haul and leave a mark for generations to come. There was one such film with a similar impact that not only struck gold at the box office but also became a cultural phenomenon. The film we are talking about is Khalnayak. It was released in 1993 and became a superhit in no time. And now decades later, the makers are planning on creating a sequel, and the buzz is unlike anything seen before, which goes to show its bold impact, unforgettable characters, and songs, which shows it appeal as a timeless classic. But since the news of its sequel has been doing the rounds. Fans are screaming with excitement as it will be a revolution for true fans of the 90s Indian cinema lovers. This might be giving the new generation a chance to relive a period that set the cinema halls on fire. But the real question is, : Will it have the same impact and attention put on it as the original did? Sanjay Dutt's portrayal of 'Ballu' in the original Khalnayak smashed records and had everyone talking, which was a sure shot given the star-studded supporting cast, including Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff, who complemented his performance. Not forgetting Subhash Ghai's magic touch that pulled everything together. Apart from that, releasable bangers like Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai were instant chartbusters and have hardly left functions and parties ever since. Subhash Ghai's excitement about the sequel is making waves in the media. The producers are working on the script and are planning to keep the spirit of the original, blending it 99with modern elements. The core narrative, Khalanayak, will still be preserved, but will feature new age storytelling and special effects. The answer others are equally curious about is: who gets to portray Ballu this time around?

The news has sparked a wave of excitement across social media. Filmfare has a source from the industry saying, 'Subhash ji is excited about staging a sequel to Khal Nayak. According to Ghai has finalised the script for the film. While it remains uncertain if Sanjay Dutt will return for the sequel, Ghai is eager to cast a young actor as Ballu Balaram. That apart, he is also considering popular actors from the South for the role.
