'Nasreddine Nabi is not coming back' – Ex-Kaizer Chiefs attacker

Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Junior Khanye is under the impression that Amakhosi head coach Nasreddine Nabi will not return to Naturena. The Tunisian tactician left the club just before the season kicked off to attend to his wife, who was involved in an accident. In the two Betway Premiership which Chiefs played, Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have guided the club to two wins. Speaking after Amakhosi's 1-0 win over Polokwane City on Wednesday, Khanye felt the home side deserved the win despite playing poor football. 'This was not an exciting game, to be honest. It lacked intensity and was played at a slow pace. But well done to the Chiefs; they deserved to win this game. They didn't play beautiful football, but they were more aggressive than this team,' he said. The former SA U/23 star had his doubts about Nabi's return, given how the team has performed without him. 'Personally, I had my doubts if he was coming back this season. They did mention in their statement that his wife was sick (involved in an accident). But when I look at it, I think it raises a lot of questions. 'Well done to the assistant coach, they won, but the team is still not balanced,' Khanye said on iDiski TV. 'For me, the technical team has shown that they can win without him.' Kaizer Chiefs will next be in action against Richards Bay at home next Tuesday. The Glamour Boys are currently top of the log after two matches. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Appollis' limitations costing Orlando Pirates, says ex-Chiefs attacker

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khnaye has highlighted Oswin Appollis' weakness following Orlando Pirates' defeat against Sekhukhune United. The Buccaneers went down 1-0 to Babina Noko on Saturday evening in their first league match of the season. Despite Pirates signing 12 players during pre-season, they failed to score in 90 minutes and ultimately saw them go down at home. Appollis, who joined the Sea Robbers in July from Polokwane City, appeared to have adapted to his new team when he scored against his old team last week in the MTN8, but was found wanting on Saturday. Khanye feels the Bafana Bafana winger is limited and should operate in different attacking positions and not just on the left. 'There are players for certain teams, and when I speak, people think I'm drunk. This boy performs when he plays for other teams. I was surprised to see a winger who can't play on the left-hand side. You are an attacking player; you have to play on the left or right-hand side, regardless of whether you're left or right-footed. 'I'm surprised that Appollis can't play on the right-hand side. He is limited and too direct,' Khanye added. Having gone down 1-0 in their opening league match, Pirates will face Marumo Gallants in their next league match. After that, it's back to the MTN8 where the Buccaneers will host rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-finals. Oswin Appollis and Relebohile Mofokeng appear to be struggling to complement each other at Pirates, giventhat both players operate effectively on the left wing. ‘Write this down – No Trophies!': Khanye's brutal Chiefs prediction

Outspoken football analyst Junior Khanye has given his thoughts on Kaizer Chiefs new signings ahead of the Betway Premiership season, which kicks off this weekend. The former Amakhosi winger feels the Glamour Boys will have another bad season under Nasreddine Nabi. Chiefs finished ninth in the Betway Premiership last campaign but claimed the Nedbank Cup, which somewhat salvaged their poor season. Khanye said the cup win was a fluke and predicted the Soweto giants to struggle for results under the Tunisian tactician. 'Number one, they will never win any trophy for me, write this down. Even last season, it is questionable the way they won the trophy. I'm still questioning how they won the semi-final, even against Stellenbosch, the referee played a major part,' Khanye said In the Betway Premiership, there is a possibility that they will finish ninth. They have average players; no team fears them. They have been dominated by Golden Arrows,' he said. In terms of Kaizer Chiefs' new signings, Khanye felt the team lacked quality players, and the six new recruitments would not make any significant changes. 'With the players they signed, they will be at the same level and the worst thing is that there are expectations. I don't understand why they still kept Nabi.' Chiefs travel to Cape Town to play Stellenbosch FC on Sunday, hoping to start their league campaign on a high. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. 'I see a disaster' – Khanye predicts tough start for Kaizer Chiefs

Retired South African footballer Junior Khanye has predicted that Kaizer Chiefs will struggle in their opening five Betway Premiership fixtures. The 40-year-old football analyst has questioned Amakhosi's new signings, saying the team will not improve this coming season. The Glamour Boys spent three weeks in the Netherlands for their pre-season tour, where they played several Dutch teams. Speaking on iDiski TV , the former Kaizer Chiefs winger predicted his old team to fumble in their opening five matches. In August, Amakhosi play Stellenbosch, Polokwane City, Richards Bay, Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows. 'This pre-season is very crucial for Kaizer Chiefs. In the five games they played, they won once and lost four times. [I'm concerned about] how they play, let alone the results. For me, I see a disaster; I need to be honest,' Khanye said. 'For me, it feels Chiefs are doing the same thing they have been doing for the past 10 years. They are signing players who play in lower leagues like Zimbabwe and Zambia. Even this guy they signed, who wears the number 10 jersey, played for the third division (in England).' The former South African U/20 winger also questioned the abilities of new striker Flavio Silva. 'If you check this new striker they bought called Flavio, and it's not that he is not scoring, his understanding of the game is questionable. In the five games, I feel Kaizer Chiefs will win one, draw another and lose three. The reason I'm saying this is that they missed out on the top 8,' Khanye said. Former Orlando Pirates attacker is clubless

The 30-year-old joined Sekhukhune at the beginning of last season after leaving Orlando Pirates, hoping for a fresh start and regular game time. Unfortunately, Kapinga struggled to establish himself at Babina Noko, leading to a mutual decision not to renew his contract. The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns made just 13 appearances across all competitions during his brief spell with Sekhukhune. He featured in 11 league matches, one Nedbank Cup fixture, and one Carling Knockout Cup clash. His only goal came in a 3-1 defeat to TS Galaxy. Kaizer Chiefs questioned by Khanye, again Lesedi Kapinga warms up at the Orlando Stadium before he left the club to join Sekhukhune United. Image: BackpagePix With limited opportunities and increased competition in midfield, the club and player have now gone their separate ways. Orlando Pirates star returns to his father 'They struggled to find consistent playing time this season, and both parties agreed a new direction was best for his career,' said a club insider. 'Sekhukhune United wish Lesedi all the best as he pursues fresh opportunities ahead of the new season.
