Adani Power Clocks 27.1% Sequential Surge At Rs 3,305 Crore In Q1
Ahmedabad: Adani Power on Friday reported an impressive 27.1 per cent sequential surge in the April-June quarter (Q1 FY26) at Rs 3,305 crore -- from Rs 2,599.23 crore posted in the last quarter (Q4 FY25). Consolidated power sale volume grew by 1.6 per cent at 24.6 billion units (BU) in Q1 FY26, compared to 24.2 BU in Q1 FY25, despite a high base effect and demand disruption due to early monsoon. The Adani Group company reported consolidated continuing total revenue for Q1 at Rs 14,167 crore compared to Rs 15,052 crore in Q1 FY25, primarily due to lower merchant tariff realisation and import coal prices year-on-year. Consolidated continuing total revenue for Q1 FY26 stood at a similar level to Q4 FY25, despite lower volumes, due to improved merchant realisation on a sequential basis. 'Adani Power's stable financial performance this quarter is a testament to its resilience and core strengths, even in the face of variability in power demand and unpredictable weather,' said S.B. Khyalia, CEO, Adani Power Limited. 'We continue to bolster our capacity through swift project execution and strategic acquisitions, ensuring we are well-prepared for future growth on our path to 30 Giga Watts (GW) by 2030. By securing critical equipment like Ultra-supercritical boilers, turbines, and generators ahead of schedule, we're reinforcing our competitive edge and supporting India's growing energy needs,' he added. The consolidated operating capacity grew from 15,250 MW in Q1 FY25 to 17,550 MW in Q1 FY26 on account of the acquisition of the 1,200 MW Moxie Power Generation Ltd, 600 MW Korba Power Limited and 500 MW Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station. It has further grown to 18,150 MW in July 2025 upon completion of the acquisition of the 600 MW Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd. Power demand was affected by an early monsoon in Q1 FY26, in comparison to the demand surge witnessed in Q1 FY25 due to a heat wave phenomenon. 'Our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence remains unwavering, as we strive to deliver reliable, affordable power that drives the nation's progress,' said Khyalia.

Bomb threat at Jaipur's Maheshwari Girls Public School, students evacuated
Jaipur: A bomb threat email sent on late Sunday night to the official ID of Maheshwari Girls Public School (MGPS), Vidyadhar Nagar, Jaipur, triggered panic and swift emergency response on Monday morning. Police said that the email, received at 12.25 a.m., carried a chilling message: "The bomb is in our body. We will be martyred and attain heaven." The threat was discovered when school authorities checked the mail around 9.15 a.m. and immediately informed the police. In a prompt response, more than 3,500 students were safely evacuated from the school within half an hour. Police teams from multiple stations, along with the bomb disposal squad and dog squad, reached the campus and conducted a thorough search. No suspicious object or explosive material was found. Vidyadhar Nagar SHO Rakesh Khyalia confirmed that the email also mentioned that the bomb would be activated through contact with the RFID system in the school. 'The school administration acted swiftly, and all students were safely evacuated. The cyber team is now investigating the origin of the email,' said SHO Khyalia. This is not the first such incident in the city to be reported. On May 30, bomb threats were sent via email to the Mansarovar metro station and two Jaipur courts. Extensive searches were conducted, but no explosives were found. Earlier in May, on the 8th, 12th, and 13th, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium also received threats. The May 13 email demanded justice for a rape victim alongside the threat. On May 9, Jaipur Metro received a bomb threat linked to Operation Sindoor. Again, no threat materialized during the police investigation. Authorities continue to monitor and investigate these threats closely, with cyber forensic teams working to trace the sources of the emails.

Adani Power to supply 1,500 MW to UP
The company will now sign a long-term power supply agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) under the Letter of Award (LoA) received today, it stated. This is further to the Uttar Pradesh cabinet approving the project earlier this month, a company statement said. New Delhi, May 10 (PTI) Adani Power on Saturday said it has won a bid to supply 1,500 MW of electricity to Uttar Pradesh from a greenfield ultra-supercritical power plant in the state entailing an investment of USD 2 billion. According to the statement, Adani Power, India's largest private sector thermal power generator, on Saturday said it has won a tightly contested bid to supply 1,500 MW (net) of thermal power to Uttar Pradesh. As part of the contract, the company will supply power at a highly competitive tariff of Rs 5.383 per unit from a greenfield 2×800 MW (1500 MW net) ultra-supercritical power plant to be set up under the design, build, finance, own, and operate (DBFOO) model in the state. 'We are happy to have won the competitive bid to supply 1,500 MW power to UP state and feel privileged to play a leading role in meeting the state's rapidly growing power demand. We plan to set up a modern and low emission ultra-supercritical plant in UP and aim to begin supplying reliable and high-quality power by FY30,' Adani Power Chief Executive Officer S B Khyalia said in the statement. Khyalia said Adani Power would invest USD 2 billion in setting up the plant and related infrastructure. The project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment of 8,000-9,000 during the construction phase and 2,000 once in operation, as per the statement. Thermal power demand in UP is seen rising by 11,000 MW by 2033-34 owing to factors like industrialisation, urbanisation, and modernisation. This 1,500 MW order is part of the government's initiative to meet that future demand. This is second major PSA bid the company has won in the last one year, after receiving the composite 6,600 MW (1,600 MW thermal and 5,000 MW solar) LoI from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd in September 2024, which subsequently has been converted into a PSA. Adani Power, a part of the Adani portfolio, has an installed thermal power capacity of 17,510 MW spread across eleven power plants in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu, apart from a 40 MW solar power plant in Gujarat.
