Salman Khan's Sikandar director says he ‘felt handicapped' while shooting the movie
When Sikandar was first announced, it felt like a surefire blockbuster in the making. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the man behind Aamir Khan's Ghajini, and starring Salman Khan, the film promised a high-octane return to massy action drama. It also marked Khan's reunion with producer Sajid Nadiadwala after over a decade since their 2014 hit Kick. With a reported budget of Rs 200 crore and a cast that included Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and others, Sikandar hit theatres on March 30, 2025, during Eid, banking on the festive weekend to fuel its box office instead of becoming the year's big festival hit, Sikandar turned into one of the biggest disappointments. Despite releasing in IMAX and standard formats across India, the film failed to connect with audiences and critics alike. It was panned for its writing, execution, and direction—ultimately becoming a box office four months after the release, AR Murugadoss has broken his silence on the film's failure. While promoting his upcoming project Madharaasi, the filmmaker offered a brutally honest explanation: his struggle with the Hindi language. 'When we make films in our mother tongue, it gives us strength. We know what is happening here,' Murugadoss said. 'When we shift language, we don't know what the youngsters are enjoying in that language. All we need is a script to believe it.'He went on to say that while he's more comfortable working in Tamil or even Telugu cinema, Hindi presents a unique set of challenges. 'After we write the script, it's translated into English. Then it is again translated into Hindi. We can only guess what they are saying, but we are not exactly sure about what is happening,' he explained. 'When you make a film in an unknown language and place, it feels like you are handicapped. It is like you don't have hands.'Murugadoss believes that a filmmaker's creative strength comes from being grounded in their own language and culture. And while he has delivered successful Hindi films in the past—like Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty with Akshay Kumar, which earned Rs 180 crore on a Rs 50 crore budget—Sikandar seems to have been a misstep rooted in disconnection from the language and its evolving audience.

Johnny Somali hit with eighth charge in South Korea, faces up to 12 years in prison
(Image via @johnnysosmally/X) Controversial streamer Johnny Somali has once again landed in headlines, and not for content creation. On July 27, 2025, a new criminal charge was reportedly added to his growing rap sheet in South Korea, just weeks before his upcoming trial. Johnny Somali, whose real name is Ramsey Khalid Ismael, already faced serious legal trouble abroad. But this eighth charge is turning what was already a chaotic case into something much bigger. New charge piles onto Johnny Somali's legal nightmare in South Korea Legal Mindset, a YouTuber and lawyer closely tracking the case, broke the news during a livestream. He revealed that South Korean prosecutors had filed an additional count of Obstruction of Business, marking the fourth such count in Johnny's legal list. For those counting: 4 Obstruction of Business charges 1 violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes 1 alleged breach of the Child Welfare Act 2 other undisclosed counts The most startling part? According to Legal Mindset, Johnny Somali had no idea about this new charge until the livestream dropped. Yes, the streamer reportedly found out about the development from YouTube, not the court. How long could Johnny Somali spend in prison? The sentencing possibilities are just as shocking as the charges. According to Legal Mindset's breakdown: The default sentence is now 4 years and 9 months. The aggravated minimum is 8 years and 4.5 months. The aggravated maximum? A jaw-dropping 12 years in prison. That's a massive leap from the earlier two-year estimate. 'That cannot be more wonderful,' the YouTuber said sarcastically, referring to what many online critics see as a long-overdue reckoning for the streamer's disruptive behavior abroad. Internet reacts as Johnny's charges mount The streamer has long divided audiences, with some defending him as an entertainer and others labeling him a menace. His permanent ban from Kick, his controversial content history, and now, his ballooning list of charges in South Korea have made him one of the internet's most infamous figures in 2025. As the court date inches closer, fans, critics, and legal spectators are all asking the same thing: Will this be the moment Johnny Somali finally faces the consequences? Only time and a South Korean courtroom will tell. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

'Copied what Kai wanted to do': Fans accuse Adin Ross of stealing Kai Cenat's survival island stream idea
Image via: Kai Cenat Live/YouTube In a field where trends change rapidly, originality is the quintessence, and with it comes controversies. Recently, Adin Ross has stirred a hornet's nest by announcing a survival island stream and has attracted a considerable amount of criticism from the online fans, who claim that it is nothing but a copy of the idea presented earlier by Twitch star Kai Cenat. Adin Ross Announces Survival Island Stream Kick streamer Adin Ross has put forth a very famous and high-stakes multi-day survival island broadcast featuring some of the biggest names in the content creator world. During a recent broadcast with FaZe Clan member Nick 'FaZe Lacy,' Ross confirmed that he along with FaZe Lacy and Felix 'xQc' Lengyel will go out to a private island in September for a 48- to 72-hour broadcast. The entire concept will have physical challenges, real-time interaction, and survival elements to entertain people in a completely new format. "September, Lacy and I will be on a private island. Probably for 48 to 72 hours. And we will basically be inviting other streamers, it's like a survival-based island. So, we already have the island picked out. The person is actually gifting me the island.' Adin said while making this announcement. He added, "So, whatever streamers you guys want, let's start getting it now. We are cooking. Late September, you guys will get Adin, Lacy, xQc, and one other person hosting a private island. BenDaDonnn will also be there." Fans Cry Foul, Point to Kai Cenat's Earlier Reveal While there was quite a buzz among his fans, a considerably large segment of the streaming community was not impressed. A general outcry began on X, where many users pointed out the near-theft similarities between the announced broadcast of Adin and that of the survival-themed stream that Kai Cenat had earlier put out. Kai shared his plans on June 4, 2025, announcing his intent to start a "Total Drama Island" The plans for Kai's event reportedly included organized games, confessionals, and even camp-style eliminations. Coming nearly two months after, some fans just wouldn't buy into Adin's "original" idea. "Copied what Kai wanted to do lmao losers," said one fan. Other voices chimed in, claiming it to be an "in-your-face ripoff" and asserting that Ross had tried to steal the limelight just as Kai was preparing for his event. Creative Inspiration or Competition? In the world of livestreaming, it is common for content creators to simply tack onto the trending ideas, but if the ideas are very specific and timed very close to one another, fans begin questioning. Adin has never responded to the accusations of plagiarism, and in fact, many believe this move forms part of the greater scuffle for digital dominance between the Kick and Twitch streamers. xQc, Adin Ross & Lacy are Going to Live on an Island for 3 Days for a Survival Marathon Adin has, time and again, been seen as a taunting figure within the streaming community, frequently stirring the pot with his streams and comments. In this light, the announcement of his next survival stream is either a bold step toward immersive content or another blunder in the attempt to outdo somebody. What's next for the Island Showdowns? With Kai and Adin ramping up to go live with their island-themed events in the next few months, the audience is left with one ironic consequence: Two survival shows born out of rivalry are now vying for viewers in real time! Whether the changes will involve an alliance, confrontation, or just great entertainment for the fans, one thing is for sure, the survival genre is not only heating up in the wild, but it's also sizzling online! Twitch unbans DDG minutes after Adin Ross offers Kick deal
Twitch swiftly reinstated rapper and streamer DDG to the platform just 30 minutes after fellow streamer Adin Ross reportedly offered him a Kick partner income deal worth a seven‑figure sum, sparking widespread online reaction. DDG had recently been banned from Twitch—according to observers, the ban was lifted remarkably quickly after the offer from Adin Ross. Social media users speculated that Twitch's decision may have been influenced by the prospect of high-profile creators aligning with its competitor, Kick. In clips circulating on X and other platforms, DDG can be heard confirming the unban, exclaiming that he had spoken with Sam (a Twitch representative) and that the deal through Adin Ross triggered the reversal. Adin Ross, who became prominent after signing a major non‑exclusive streaming deal with Kick, is known for advocating the platform's Partner Income Program, which offers streamers a favorable revenue share and hourly income potential based on viewership. Ross reportedly discussed with DDG the potential earnings he could make if he joined Kick, effectively presenting the offer as both an income opportunity and a negotiating tool with Twitch. The story has drawn scrutiny over platform dynamics—Twitch vs Kick—and how exclusive income deals may be leveraged to influence reinstatement decisions. Twitch has not officially commented on the circumstance, and details of any formal agreement remain unconfirmed. As of now, DDG's Twitch channel is active again, and both fans and industry observers are watching closely to see whether DDG transitions to Kick or remains on Twitch following the dramatic reversal.

Yes, you read that right! Scroll down to know the reason. Why Was Salman Khan Denied a UK Visa? In 2014, Salman Khan's movie Kick was released. The spy-thriller became a huge hit and minted Rs 200 crore. But did you know that during the shoot of the film, a major chunk was supposed to be filmed in the UK? Half of the unit had already reached the UK. However, when it was Salman's turn, his visa was denied. According to reports, the visa was rejected because Britain's rules prohibit the entry of any person convicted of a crime in any court. Salman Khan was convicted in two pending hunting cases for killing a chinkara. Another interesting aspect of Salman Khan's blackbuck case is that Jagdeep Dhankhar, who recently resigned from the position of Vice President of India, helped Salman secure bail. For the unversed, Jagdeep Dhankhar was the counsel for Bollywood actor Salman Khan and the other accused in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Salman Khan's Film Still Became a Hit Despite this hurdle, Salman proved his mettle. Made on a budget of Rs 140 crore, Kick grossed Rs 372.50 crore worldwide at the box office. The movie was produced in collaboration with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures. The film earned Rs 26 crore on its first day, which was the second-biggest non-holiday opening at the time. The film earned Rs 82 crore in its first weekend and Rs 155 crore in its first week alone. It became Salman Khan's first film to enter the Rs 200 crore club and was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2014. Overseas, especially in the Gulf, US, Canada, UK, and Pakistan, the film performed exceptionally well.
